Great
This solid metal version is so much better than the one with thin metal loop. No worries about the loop breaking.

Tread your needles with ease
I use this all the time to thread my needles. In fact I bought this one to have handy and I attached it to my scissors with a piece of wool that I happen to have. This needle threader is so easy to use and is sturdy so it won't break or bend. The only negative is that it is not small enough to thread beading needles.

Fits #26 tapestry needle
The most important thing to know about a needle threader is what size needle it will work with, and I found this info sadly lacking in the description and reviews. I bought it anyway, and so here’s the info for you! The small end fits easily in a #24 tapestry needle, which is the most common needle for use with 14-count aida and similar-sized cross stitch and embroidery fabrics. I use a #26 needle on smaller-count fabrics, and that’s the one I really wanted this to fit—and it does! It’s close, but it works. I don’t know whether the exact size of the needle eye varies between brands, but I think you would be hard-pressed to get it to fit anything smaller than a #26. It’s actually the width of the eye that seems most restrictive, as opposed to the length. I like the hook design because with other threaders you still have to thread something, even if it is a bigger hole than the eye.

Needle threader is great for loading needles!
As I have gotten older I am not able to see like I once did especially loading a needle for embroidery and cross stitch. I thought I might have to stop these activities, which would be sad for me since I enjoy them so much. Then my sister, who has brought me many needle threaders, brought me this threader. What a wonderful product. In my opinion better than all the rest because so many threaders the wire you are trying to load is as thin as the thread. This threader is hard to miss. It is sturdy, easy to use in 2 steps and has 2 ends, one for loading small needle eyes the other for loading larger needle eyes. I have loaded up to six strands of floss into the craft needles. I bought another one just in case I lost this one. So if you are also not seeing like you did to load a needle this may also be your answer so you can continue the needle crafts you love or just to load a needle to darn a sock. I praise my sister for being so persistent in finding the best threader I have ever used. Give it a try!

Baste & Tie Quilts with Curved Needles. Thread them easily with this.
Way too big for a quilting needle, these are meant for “long-eye needles”. I use curved needles to baste quilts, and also to tie quilts. This needle threader enables me to VERY easily thread #5 pearl cotton into my curved needles for tying. You don’t have to aim your thread through any kind of hole, large or small; you just lay it over the hooked-end protruding through the eye and then pull the hook and thread through. Why use anything else? And perhaps best of all, this will NEVER BREAK on you. A magnetic “needle nest” is a good place to store it, although I just opened the package in a way that I can replace it after each use, because I don’t use it that often. That keeps it safe and easy to locate. There is also a hole through this, so you can attach a cord of some kind to make it easier to keep tabs on. Then you can hang it around your neck while using to avoid dropping and losing it. This works well with curved needles and Chenille needles, but don’t expect it to work with regular sewing needles because the hook is too large. Most other needle threaders are cheap garbage. I'm thinking of trying the Spiral Eye Side-Threading Needles (no going through the eye...the thread slides into a slot on the side of the eye.)

This little wonder deserves a story...
I learned of this tool through the sewing with children blog, 'Sewing School', and the Sewing School books of truly kid-created projects that actually teach hand sewing in steps. Love that source, and they certainly steered me right on recommending this specific threader, and the need for it. I've never used a threader, my mother taught me hand-sewing when I was five, without one. And I have good memories of the process and the projects passing them on to those of my kids who were interested. Yet, some 40ish years later, gathering up a sewing kit for my youngest daughter was a successive experience in mama error- and frustrated failures on her part. Last Christmas I decided to try again. That's when I found the Sewing School books, and followed their recommended shopping list, even down to this specific threader and the use of craft thread, not regular floss. Success! an independent and happy little needlewoman. But I need to purchase a few more, for her sewing stops when she misplaces it, it's that crucial. Now I want to share my 'cool discovery' with my mom. Our eyes are getting 'wise enough' to need these, (so much better than standard threading gizmos!) and so versatile for various needs. Great find.
