I've now used this tool many times. It appears to be very accurate. It's very easy to use. I like the ability to calibrate the tool before using it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a similar tool. I would buy this again.

No for Professional purposes

I tested this moisture meter, I had the wood really wet and got the readings for the wood, next I placed the piece of sheetrock over the wood and took the reading again and it wasn't taking the moisture behind the 1/2 sheetrock.

Great tool for baseboard and wall moisture detection

Used the tool to determine where moisture was coming from and if everything was dried out on my baseboards and ceiling. Easy to use. The only problem is the sharp points and the tough-to-remove cover. I stabbed myself with one of the points. When you wiggle the cover to remove it, be careful not to pull to hard. The cover is tethered to the instrument so it doesn't get lost and when you grip and pull it your finger can bounce back and land on one of the points.

Accurate readings

I use this tool for RH(relative humidity)when installing hardwood floors. I also use it to probe into hardwood and subfloors to make sure there moisture levels are good. I have had 2 of these tools and I think they work very well. They stay accurate and true. I like to replace mine every 18 months because I rely on it a great deal for my job. Good price for a good tool!!

Good tool and will purchase again if needed.

LIKE: I like the value, layout of options and the overall thought put into the tool. Very nice and I will purchase again. DISLIKE: The protective cap over the sharp pins is terrible. It actually causes the puncture it is trying to prevent due to the difficulty of removal. Try taking the cap off in a crawl space. Also dislike the difficult lighting of the screen. I find myself using a flashlight to read the screen.

Works on air-dried wood, but struggles with well-dried hardwood

I bought this meter to check moisture content in prefinished hardwood flooring in my house and the subfloor. The prefinished flooring was well dried -- it must have a moisture content of about 6%, maybe less. But this meter bottoms out at 5% and gives no reading or varying readings close to that, especially in hardwood. With the plywood subfloor and other pine lumber, the meter works reliably, but not on the kiln-dried hardwood -- it is too dry. I have access to some home-milled oak and walnut that has been stored outside, and the meter worked well on that, giving readings of 12-15%. New, undried, construction lumber also produced expected readings. So, this meter does work, but be aware that it may not work well a the very dry end of its range.

Came fast

The instructions were a bit vague. It would be nice if it stated how much moisture is ok.

Not Easy for an inexperienced person

I am sure it works. I can get it to read sometimes and other times not. I think I dont know enough to operate this. I had one years ago and it came with very explicit directions on how to use which features and what the readings meant. This one, not so much. I am going to have to find someone to teach me to use this. I think it is working, but, who knows.

Amateur meter not for professional use

Amateur meter not for professional use, I used this next to a MMS2 and it offered differing readings, this machine is OK for occasional domestic use but not for a professional.

Multi use moisture meter

Seems to be a good meter for the price, but it would be nice if you could adjust the meter seeing as the unit comes with a calibration checker.

Stopped working at lower temp

Seems to work fine but stopped working at cooler temperatures. Once I brought it back into a warmer place it started working again.
