Decent Despite Perplexing Disclaimer

Despite the rather perplexing warnings that htis mat is not suitable for yoga or just about any other exercise, it is a decent mat. I've been using it with a door exerciser and it functions well It doesn't slide around and provides protection and comfort from the floor. Mine came in onyx, a charcoal type color. Not the most exciting but it does hide dirt and goes with everything. The dimensions are accurate and it can be hung if desired. It is environmentally friendly, a definite plus.

Quality has declined

We used to love these mats, but the latest version is a shadow of the previous version’s quality. Sadly, we will need to look for an alternative for our other facilities.

Best mats you will ever buy.

I am a health club owner and these mats will last you forever. We are just replacing after 4 years of use. Can't recommend enough for the durability.

Well made but doesn't roll, doesn't absorb, and it's short

This is a sturdy thick mat typical of what is found in gyms. It feels very well made. But it's not very versatile. IT ISN'T: - Portable. It doesn't roll. I have a nice roll-able mat that I take with me to yoga classes. This would be super awkward to take in the car or to a gym. - Good for stretching. It's short (4') so it's hard to do lying-down full body stretches on it. - Absorbent. It needs a towel if you're doing something sweaty, IT IS: - Well made. It's sturdy and seems very durable. - Thick. It really cushions you on hard floor. SO WHAT DO I USE IT FOR: I use it under my Pilates Chair (which is in my room), both to protect my carpet and to have something sturdy under my feet when standing to do my chair exercises. 4 stars because it's perfect for this!

48 inch mat is limited in its utility, but otherwise the thickness and feel are quite nice

This is probably the nicest exercise mat I have had in terms of thickness and feel. The ability to hang the mat is a good feature to maintain shape and prevent smells. However, II do not recommend the 48 inch mat for regular adult use in a gym setting.. I'm 66 inches tall, and 48 inches is too short for a lot of stretches where I want support under my hands or other body parts. In terms of width, it also falls on the narrow side. It would be a good size for younger kids who are stretching or who need padding for an outdoor event.

Don't Buy, Fine Dust

When opening the package, the plastic bag was cloudy & sticky. On 1st use, fine dust sticks to hands, feet & floor.

Sturdy and THICK

This mat appears very well made. It is really thick! My cat started scratching the surface of the mat and it didn't shred at all. The material is warm, though, it doesn't seem to breathe much, but what it lacks in breathe ability it makes up for in comfort. The hanging rings are very sturdy as well. It isn't just for exercise, either. I have used this mat to sit on wood floors to read with my daughter, and I have used it to kneel on when I built a bookcase on the hard floor. I think it would also work well as a nap mat for a child, especially in a daycare setting because they are much easier to store than cots. The mat I got is fairly short, but there are multiple sizes to choose from. And it is Earth friendly, which is always a huge plus! I don't know that this would be the best choice for a portable mat to take to and from an exercise class, because the mat is so thick and therefore it doesn't roll up very compactly, but if you have a place to store it at a class, are a gym owner and want to buy a bunch of sturdy mats, or don't care about carrying a bulky mat to class because it is worth the comfort, then I think you will be happy with your purchase of this product.
