Probably saved my cat's life...
A young cat (about 6 months old) from a rescue joined our active family several months ago. We were excited to have him, but not so happy with his tendency to knead our furniture (couch, bed, and pool table!) with his claws. We thought our options were to have him declawed, make him an outside cat (probably not a good idea given that we have gators in the lakes around our house), or give him back to the rescue. I heard about these nail caps and thought that, for the price, they were definitely worth a try. I'm so glad that we ordered them! Our cat is happy enough to have them applied; he squirms but doesn't get too upset. (I'm able to clip his nails and apply the nail caps by myself.) I have to hold him for at least 5 minutes afterwards or he does pull/chew them off. He manages to get one or two off a week, usually when using a scratching post. I've noticed that he seems to be getting more used to them - the first set lasted a few days, but I've needed to reapply them less frequently each time. A few things that have helped me: * I probably use more glue than the directions say to use. I've noticed that when I used too little glue, the nail caps came off right away. * The longer that I can keep our cat relaxed after applying the nail caps, the longer they stay on. * I put glue in four or five nail caps at once, then start putting them on the cat. The glue doesn't dry too fast, and it is definitely faster and easier to only apply while holding the cat (instead of trying to put the glue in and then apply, all while holding him.) The first package lasted a little over a month. I have a few unused nail caps left, but I'm out of the glue applicators. Based on the less-frequent need to reapply, I'm guessing my second package will last two to three months. We've been thrilled to have a fun, active cat who still loves to play, but who no longer puts holes in the furniture! I'm so happy to have a solution that didn't involve expensive (and painful?) surgery or the threat of gators!

TAKE MY MONEY. I love these things.
Can't say enough good things about these little nail caps. They really work. Or I just have an exceptionally well behaved cat who doesn't chew the off. Took a few minutes to get on, but once she got used to them (about 30 minutes), she just went about her business as usual. Still tried to scratch everything, but no damage! Now when she kneads you - it's like a little massage, instead of feeling like you're a pin-cushion! A note about putting them on - make sure you don't take too much off the end of the cat's nails when trimming the tip. like, 1mm is enough to dull the end of their claws. If you take any more than that, there's less surface area on the nail to adhere to the cap, so it will fall off much sooner. My cat is strictly indoors. She lost a bit of her climbing ability, but can still manage to get up her 5' cat stand (the rope rapping allows for her covered claws to get in and give her some grip, i guess). Wouldn't recommend for a cat that goes outside at all though (if they need to protect themselves, this will hinder their ability considerably). The nails stay on for a number of weeks and stated falling off one at a time. I replace them as needed.

Works well for the right cat
I had really high hopes for this product. I am not pro-declawing but I have a cat who behaves as if she is a monkey by leaping and clinging to the drapes. Something had to be done. When I attempted to put the claw caps on, (this is a two person job by the way) she fought me in a way that seemed as if the caps were hurting her. She could have just been being dramatic but she definitely flinched when I pressed the cap to the base of her nail. I was able to get 90% of her front claws capped, but she was immediately a different cat. No longer lively, active, and playful; she became cautious and depressed. Having the caps on while trying to run on hardwood floors was tricky business. After two days, she managed to get the caps off and was back to her usual crazy self. If I get better results, I will update this review.

bye bye scratches
We live on a farm and we don't want to have our cat declawed. Mainly because he is a hunter! Mice beware! However, when I look around my house I'm less than thrilled at the equipment a/k/a furniture he has decided to train with (including a chair in our living room and bed (sheets) in our basement. These claws do the trick. I've order clear before but I never knew if they had fallen off without checking him. These are wonderful, though sometimes they don't stay on as well as I'd like. Overall, it's great to have if you own a cat you don't wish to declaw!

Saved us from bleeding
We have a cat that doesn't retract her claws, so we have had a lot of cuts. We ordered these as an alternative to declawing. It does take two people to adequately put them on and we discovered that you need to clip the nail and put the soft claws on right away. Otherwise the nails begin to split and they are very hard to get on. We had to keep an eye on the cat for about 10-15 minutes while the glue was drying or she would pull the soft paws off. Once dry, they stayed on pretty well until her nail shed (about 5 weeks).

Problem getting claws snagged
In the beginning I liked the soft claws and didn't mind putting them on my cats. Unfortunately more and more they were getting them snagged on things around the house. More than once I came home from work to see my cat limping from having injured her foot, which I suspected she had gotten snagged up in something. First they would get caught in the throw rugs and blankets so I got rid of them and tried to buy ones that didn't have a loose weave or loops. My cats know how to open our wooden shutters so they can see outside. One of my cats got her claw caught between the slats and the side of the frame. Fortunately I was there in time to get her claw unstuck before she had a chance to freak out and injure herself. When my little one got her claw caught in a door hinge I finally decided it was time to stop using them. I just have to make sure to keep their claws trimmed frequently to minimize the damage to my furniture.

Easy to use
Super easy to use and self explanatory. I live in an apartment and can’t have my cat scratching thing so this is a good precaution for that. I love that it doesn’t hurt your animal at all and last a good amount of time
