Large Size!

This is the large size tomato you've all been looking for! lolol It's even a bit bigger than the one I had since my childhood. I'm very happy. This is exactly what I was looking for!

Cheaply made but will do the job

I guess they don’t make things like they used to. I’ve been trying to find a large tomato pin cushion like I had 20 years ago and this is the closest I could find. Just very cheaply made - loose strings, feels and sounds like it’s stuffed with plastic bags, but it’s ok.

Nice big pin cushion!

My 1963 tomato has been patched so many times that it was waaaay past time to replace it. Saw this one when I was looking for a zipper and just had to have it! The tomato comes in two sizes - I bought the big one and I love it!

If nothing else this is a great conversation piece

A few months ago I got to looking at my ratty old red tomato pin cushion and thinking I could use something new. I don't do a lot of town shopping for a number of reasons so I decided to come here and look for a new pin cushion and possibly some new pins to go with it (I've been using my old stuff for over forty years by now). Anyway, I saw this, looked closely at the picture and read all the reviews and decided I just had to try it. So here are my thoughts: Pros: Very thick, sturdy fabric and the cording is thick and strong. The stem is made from thick felt. The bead deco gives it a nice touch but once you get pins on it doesn't really add that much. And seriously, if you've no other use for it just leave it on an end or coffee table because it makes a great conversation piece. Pro-Con-what-have-you is its size. On the one hand it's great but on the other hand it's a bit over-done. Some people say it's more like a pumpkin but I say nay, it's just about the size of a beefsteak tomato. I love that it's large enough I can poke big needles and long pins into it without worrying about them going through. It's also large enough that it isn't the easiest to handle, but its stem does make for a nice pick-up device. Cons: I really can't think of anything that's a complete downside, unless it's the possibility that needles could get forever lost in here if they were stuck in with no thread.

I like the large size; it holds quite a few pins

I needed a new pin cushion. My dog (who is on prednisone for a medical condition and who thus eats all sorts of things she shouldn't) got ahold of my last one. (Don't worry, she didn't eat any pins! But she did eat the strawberry part and do some other damage. It is over a year later and she is fine!) I like the classic tomato pin cushions so I bought this one. I wanted one that was on the larger side and this had the diameter I was looking for. I put about 150 pins in it last night and there is plenty of room for more. It is basically well made, with no loose threads or anything. No parts look like they are going to become detached. If you are obsessive about symmetry, though, this may bother you. The six sections around the sides of mine were not the same size because the green dividers were not evenly spaced. They didn't match up with the indentations in the star-shaped piece of green fabric on top as in the product image. Since this is a functional object and not decorative, I'm not going to get bent out of shape about it.

Disappointed

Not like they use to make them! Filled with some type of filler so the pins don't grasp very good. It's just OK for the time being.

Cheated

I feel cheated. I didn’t get an big apple but what looked like a small strawberry. And it’s not the size that was promised. As u can see by the picture enclosed 1.5 inches. Very disappointed ????. Can’t return it as well.

Fabulous pin cushion

Gorgeous pin cushion. It’s huge and soft so it easy to put pins into while you’re sewing. After many years of sewing, I have to say this is the best pincushion I’ve ever seen or used. I have about a hundred or more pins in mine as well as needles on one side and a bundle of safely pins on the other side. It’s good for everything, is well-made and is also very attractive - a treat for the eyes.

It arrived as expected in perfect condition. It is exactly as you would expect from the picture online. This pin cushion is a good size and really well made. It is so pretty and makes me smile whenever I use it. I am very happy with the purchase.

This is a large pincushion!

This was much larger than I expected and the quality is very good. It will easily hold many pins and is a good weight, it doesn't slide around too much as you extract and replace the pins (and won't move at all if on a disc of anti-slip plastic).

Awesome little pin cushion, but check your local Walmart first, half the price for the same item...was not impressed.
