Save on plumber visits!

I love that hair is easily caught. I'd rather use this than a snake with all the gunk, or calling a plumber. I can seal the tub for a bath or open it for a shower. I just take some TP every few days and pull the hair off.

Black "catcher" is silicone, fits perfect

I was a little worried about this fitting in our shower due to some strange pieces of metal at the bottom of our drain, but because it is silicone, it fits like a glove! I haven't used this for taking a bath, but it makes a good seal on the drain and has been catching lots of hair! I am thinking this can help me avoid using drain cleaner as often.

Too small for my tub

This product was too small for my tub and just fell right in. Maybe I have a nonstandard sized tub who knows but it didn’t work for me.

Exactly what I was looking for.

Replaced the old rubber one with this one that allows the drain to be plugged to fill the tub so you can use both shower and tub. If you have medium to long hair this is a must. Save yourself from having to call a plumber!

Finally a solution that works!!!

I tried several options to stop my wife and daughters hair from clogging the drain. None of them worked perfectly. We have/had a pop-up drain which severely limits our options. The domed covers would either not seal against the tub floor and hair would go under or hair might pass right thru the drain holes. It would then get caught on the cross bars that support the pop up. It got to the point I couldn't get the pop up loose due to corrosion on the cross bars and decided to try something different. I didn't want something that they have to put in place since that was one of our biggest battles. This solved that problem. As a drain plug, it isn't perfect but lore than adequate. A tub of water left overnight will drain out but it is fine for a little soak or kids bath time. Since it replaces the pop up and you remove it from the drain regularly to clean it, we don't have build up anymore! This has made everyone much happier - especially me. My only complaint is it doesn't hold the stopper very tight. It will eventually slide down and water will begin filling the tub while taking a shower. It doesn't happen all the time and the benefits outweigh this minor annoyance.

tub shroom is better

i got it to replace a moldy tub shroom and though it would be more appealing to the eye but it doesn’t seem to catch a majority of the hair and it does slow the drain for no apparent reason. going to buy another tub shroom and stick with that.

Meh

I was looking for a way to keep hair from clogging our shower and to not have to pull out that soapy snotty mess from the drain monthly. These are good for that, but need to be cleaned frequently (weekly at least) and it is difficult to do - especially wet. We've stopped using them after two months.

Catches dog/human hair that might eventually block drains

Been using this in our bath tub and shower. Catches all of our pup's hair. Easy to add and remove. Only con is if you step on it water would stop draining so you will have to pull the top only to let the water drain again. You might end up removing the while plug while doing this.

Wouldn't buy again

Had a tub shroom until dog got it. Wife thought this would be a good alternative since it had a built in plug. Nope, useless as a strainer as the flow rate is horrible. It's basically only good as a plug. Wouldn't buy again or recommend.

Aesthetically looks good

The hair really wraps in the inside of the plug and is sometimes had to pull out, not very easy to clean

Disappointed in the potential

This thing is more useful as a stopper than a strainer. If you keep the water flowing while showering, it continually builds up as this can't evacuate water equal to, or faster than it's coming in. It also gets gunked up pretty quickly, but at least it's easy to clean. Don't be like me and confuse this for a pop up stopper, this is literally just a chrome plated plastic peg in a silicone housing, meaning you more than often end up removing it in an attempt to change the mode.
