A portable tank, but not perfect
Firstly, the positives: 1) The case is fantastic and fits inside a medium or larger suitcase. 2) The rod is a tank. I drove over the thing by accident and suffered no more than an easily re-bent guide. 3) It is reasonably sensitive for the cost. 4) It can serve as an everyday rod, no problem. 5) It can cast lighter lures surprisingly well. There are downsides though: 1) It is very tip-heavy and takes some muscle to heft all day. 2) The lure rating is a bit optimistic. I would say that the maximum weight it works well with is about 5/8-oz. It tends to launch 3/4-oz and 1-oz lures straight up into the air after a pretty impressively deep flex. 3) The handle is short, as might be expected for a travel rod, so it is not ideal for transferring back-energy to a strong-arm fish to the shore/boat.

Quality rod, cheap reel screw
Been out with this rod 5 or 6 times now and I've been happy with the quality and feel of the rod for the most part. But as usual, manufacturers cheap out. Everything this rod has going for it is lost if you can't attach a reel to it. The screw that holds the reel in place is cheap plastic. I've heard mine crack while attaching my reel twice now. I'm not sure where it's cracking because I can't physically see a crack, but the sound is unmistakable. The problem is, if you don't screw it on tight enough, the screw loosens when you cast out due to the natural motion your arm/hand makes while casting. That has happened MANY times to me and I have to constantly re-tighten it. If you tighten the screw too much, it might break. I'm not over-tightening, just enough so the reel feels stable. There's no winning with this. It's been very frustrating. Concerned that someday I'm going to lose a good fish if the screw eventually breaks off completely. I really wish these companies would stop cheaping out on materials. They put so much money and engineering into the rod itself.. Is it really so much to ask to have a durable metal reel attachment screw? Also, be careful putting the rod back into the case. The guides bend easily and often. I suggest putting all 3 parts together in your hand and inserting them carefully into the case all at once. If you insert them one at a time there's a good chance you'll bend a guide and won't notice until you pull it back out. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Daiwa travel rod recommend ✅
Great 7’6” rod. Took to FL keys & carried on ✈️ with no worries. The semi-hard round case is perfect to sling over your shoulder & take anywhere. I Landed plenty of reds/barracuda 1 shark about 34” even 2 tarpon larger one was 38” & rod performed flawlessly I was able to crank down on drag & land both. Only thing I would like to see is Lengthen the handle behind reel for better casting control, Otherwise rod stayed together & to my surprise there was No slipping or turning of rod section while fighting any of the fish caught. Definitely recommend this rod for inshore & back country fishing ????!! DAIWA baby!!

Excellent travel rod!
This rod is a great value. I use it paired with a Penn Slammer 3 4500 and it performs really well and has held up well for me in a variety of freshwater, inshore saltwater, and pier fishing applications. I'm going to buy another one for my next trip to the Gulf of Mexico.

Feels like 1 piece rod
I wanted to have a travel rod so it would fit better in my car’s trunk or in my backpack. Bought from amazon warehouse, good price, looks new and unused. The rod and the case are well made and seems to be of high quality, like many other Daiwa fishing products. Although 3 pieces, it feels as solid and responsive as one piece. It can fit comfortably in the car’s trunk. I can also carry it in my backpack for a hike. Tested at the beach and comfortably reeled in 2 hard fighting large sand bass without any trouble. This would be my go to rod, travel or local.

3 Piece; Feels like 1
My favorite thing about this pole is that you can use it for just about anything. I've caught a 20 pound catfish all the way to good sized crappie with this thing all in the span of the 4 days I've had it. Carrying case seems to be pretty nice quality and could fit some extra things in it if need be (make sure if it has hooks it's in a rigid container). I might buy another one just so I can have multiple out at the same time if I want to go catfishing with it again.

After My Penn Battle III broke on third fish I put the reel on this pole.
The sensitivity between the Penn Battle III and this rod is night and day! I felt every pebble and strike with the Daiwa Ardito. My Penn broke on day one of a fishing trip, and I had this pole as a back-up. I sure wish I had bought two, and skipped buying the Penn rod.

Bought this rod for salmon fishing in Alaska. In a word, it is fantastic. Caught hundreds of pink and coho salmon with it over 12 days. With the flexible ferrules it fishes just like a one piece and I was comfortable really putting pressure on the fish and even hauling in foul hooked fish. Just ordered a second one. The case has a shoulder strap also for easy carry through the woods to my fishing spots. Fits diagonally in my large check bag (barely). Perfect travel spinning rod - I love it.

Well Made
Have not used it but just by eyeing the quality this is superbly made. Well worth the money, the case is excellent. I will update the review after using the rod. Comes with a 5 year warranty which is hard to beat.

Three Stars
This rod is incredibly stiff, so it may not be what you're looking for. Everything is as advertised.

Light and really nice to use
Really nice rod, very light for the size and capability. Cast really well paired with my 3500 penn slammer.
