Works on Mazda Miata
I use this on my Mazda mx5 (Mazda Miata) to carry around my golf pull cart. So far it’s good. You have to use a hitch stabilizer which keeps rack from shaking. Not a deal breaker since there are not many options on market for 1.25 inch hitch receivers. Next step is to mount my golf travel case to it so I can carry my clubs when I need the passenger seat. Serves its purpose for what I need. I wouldn’t load it to full capacity as hitch racks cut down hitch tongue weight by more than half which for me means I’m at capacity with 100lbs including the weight of rack. I’m sure it’s fine loaded with more weight but I don’t need things dragging down the highway. Do the research on your set up before buying.

Great way to add storage for your next trip
Used this on a 3,000 mile trip last summer on my Toyota Prius. Worked flawlessly and greatly expanded the storage I had available! Assembly and setup was easy and straight forward. Definitely recommend to anyone who has the need to add a little extra storage for their trip and who already have a hitch on their vehicle.

fits perfectly
sturdy

i like that the shelf is raised above the hitch to give more ground clearance.
went together pretty quickly. i chose to reverse the insertion direction of some of the screws such that the inside of the shelf was only exposed to the heads of the screws, rather than the threaded ends which might scratch contents that you are hauling.

Great and solid!
This is a great product! I selected this one because of the feature of rising the tray from the hitch. PT Cruisers height is a bit low. This was a savior this weekend when I packed my PT for a move. My suitcases travelled in the back with no problem. Also the feature of the screw that tight the tray avoiding the use of any other equipment. And above all the ability to use it in my 1 1/4 hitch or with the adapter on a 2 inches one.

A sturdy enough fuel friendly alternative to roof cargo solutions.
This cargo carrier is a great buy. I bought it to carry a gas can, cooler, and miscellaneous tools or other luggage in a Rubbermaid tote on roadtrips. It has held on great so far, but it does have a few cons I'll cover soon. The rack did, as for many people, arrive slightly damaged. The Curt box it arrived in had a hole in the back about 2" in diameter. The metal mesh on one half of the rack, packaged on the bottom, was bent a bit. It is completely usable, but a disappointment. The rack was fairly straight forward to assemble. It did take a bit of flipping back and forth and holding parts carefully to get all the bolts started, but it is completely do-able for anyone with a 17mm wrench. It does require a 19mm for the odd, yet simply workable hitch pin. Once the basket was together, following advice from other Amazon reviews with all bolts turned with the shaft out and some added reflective stickers for extra visibility, I put it on my car (2015 Honda Fit EX) and it went on easily. The hitch pin, a long bolt you have to tighten to 'wedge' it so it can't rattle, works fine and gives no side to side flop or shake. I also grabbed a $10 hitch tightener to help strengthen things a bit, but I'm not sure it was necessary. It also uses 19mm hardware so I just keep it and use it since I have it. The cargo carrier basket is pretty sturdy and definitely stout enough for what I carry. My hitch is only rated for 200 lbs. tongue weight, which I've not come close to, but I'm not sure I'd go much further than that even if it could. I don't think the carrier could hold the 300 lbs. that it claims, but it definitely holds up as well as I hoped a sub-$100 1-3/4" cargo carrier could. The angled 'shank' does help my height challenged car clear the driveway, and does angle the basket slightly towards the car, but only a couple of degrees at most. If I could offer one suggestion to Curt, it'd be to add some reflective sticker and maybe to package it with some thick cardboard to help protect the mesh floor of the basket. Otherwise, all seems great, and I definitely have no qualms recommending anyone who needs to buy this. Update: It's been a week, it's been about 1,500 miles, and it's been A-OK! Still holding up well, no rattling or annoying flopping. I've only hauled about 50lbs total, if that, at a time on it for those miles, but the rack is still sturdy, and continues to be a good buy.

Works well and as intended, some improvements could be made
First the good: * Setup is easy enough. * Quality materials * Very sturdy frame In its default state I tested my own weight of about 200lbs and that did not present any issues and no movement. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is: * Did not come with reflective tape. I would highly suggest adding some. Note: cargo may block on or more rear lights from view of other drivers depending on where they are. Reflective tape can only benefit. * Though the frame is very sturdy the "floor" is just metal screen. No issue at all unless you have weight focused in a small area. This may cause the screen to bend. When I stood on it I did not trust the screen to support my weight other than on the center support rib. My solution was to cut a large wooden staff in half and zip tie in place. This split the floor into 4 sections instead of 2 Another change I made, and not the fault of the carrier, is to add a heat shield from an old metal for sale sign. In my particular setup (HHR) the exhaust was hot enough to melt a luggage wheel. That was unexpected. I also added one of those goofy exhaust tips to redirect the flow a little. You can see the pattern after these changes in the pictures. After an additional 1,000+ miles and plenty of idle time I'm confident that has been resolved. Tips: * For those that find it sloppy or loose, be sure you are inserting the pin in the threaded hole. In my case at least there are two. * Add reflective tape. I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086DH3L56 that held up well to freezing weather and a car wash * Consider assembling frame with the threaded ends of hardware facing OUT. I wish I had to gain just that little bit more space * If your car sits low, cut off excess stud from hitch tightener - if using one

Happy with this purchase
Great addition to my Fiat 500C I have a tray hitch cargo carrier on my SUV. I added this smaller version with the included angled up shank (for clearance) to my convertible for a camping trip. It worked wonderfully…my original review was removed. I’m not wasting my time going into detail a second time. Wobbles and rattles without aftermarket bar, but sturdy enough to carry a snow blower. Great addition to a small 2 door vehicle.

Works but wiggles
I don't remember the capacity of this carrier but I've carried some questionable items on it like an empty job box, a couple of barrels of horse manure, a large vintage wood stove. It's great for picking up wood. It held up to cutting wood on it but it will wiggle side to side if the load is uneven but I'm sure they all do that. The clearance is good and it has not grounded out on anything yet. Friends laugh when they see me using it like a pickup truck. A lot of weight has been rested on the outer lip and nothing has bent or cracked. I've used and abused it a number if times.

Great add on for vehicles or trailers with a hitch
Rugged construction, easy to put together and very sturdy for carrying cargo. Once the bolt is tightened to the hitch, it does not loosen and the tray does its thing. Built to last.

The right product for my needs.
My 18110 Curt Cargo Carrier arrived by Purolator this morning, a couple of days ahead of the delivery window. I felt that i chose the right product for my needs because; 1…I needed the 4” rise to increase my ground clearance, and 2…I didn’t want to deal with the weight of a 500 pound rated unit. This unit weighs 28.5 lbs on my bathroom scale. A 17mm wrench is all you need for assembly but i didn't have one and had to use my vice grips. But after going over the bolts three times, I’m confident that it is tight enough and I especially like the quality locking nuts that wont easily back off (you know the kind that have some nylon inside them to increase the friction). There are some 3/4” holes in the side rails for attaching bungee cords, and I was happy that my bicycle lock would "just" fit through one of them so that i can lock the unit to the car frame to make stealing the whole shelf harder. Bungee cords could also be hooked into the expanded metal bed which i also liked. Just to verify; 19” x 47.75” is the absolute maximum cargo box you could fit on this carrier, and 31.5” is how far the shelf extends out the back of your car as measured from the center of the hitch pin. Apparently a 19mm wrench is also needed ... to make a tight connection with the hitch pin ...but I haven’t done that yet so i cant report on wobble if using my vice grips on it. The only features this unit doesn't have are aluminum parts or the ability to fold up to a vertical position, but doing that would no doubt block my back-up sensors so I wouldn't want to keep it on the car all the time anyway. I'm giving this unit 5 stars for quality. UPDATE: So I attached the unit to my car this morning and for a second i thought it wasn't going to fit but it just needed a little push to slide it into the hitch and a bit of a wiggle to get it back out again... a nice snug fit. I discovered that the ground clearance was well over a foot, that there was more space than i expected below the license plate for cargo, and that the shelf is as wide as it can be w/o the cargo blocking the tail lights. So it's perfect for my SUV. The bed angles up a little but with when there is some load on the car springs it's going to be level...so I'm also giving this unit 5 stars for design.

Good design
It was easy to assemble and attach. Seems safe and solid, and fit small car (Hyundai Accent) well. It has gone across Canada and is about to make the return trip. Design doesn't necessarily allow for straps or bungees to attach directly to it (but straps wrapped underneath just fine).

Perfect accessory for car camping or road trips!
In 2018, the family and I decided to take on our first long road trip (~5,000km). Our Toyota Prius V has plenty of trunk space but we wanted extra space for sporting equipment and any purchases we made along the way. After purchasing and installing the CURT 11276 trailer hitch, this seemed like the obvious next step. The build quality on this unit is adequate, given the price. The angled shank is fantastic for cars that are low to the ground. It is going to elevate your payload such that the carrier isn't going to come into contact with the road over uneven ground. In our case, we opted for a large Rubbermaid container that we strapped to the carrier with ratchet straps and bungee cords. This also gave us great clearance to open and close the Prius' hatch without issue. I would suggest adding some 3M safety/hazard tape to the back of the carrier to provide additional visibility at night.
