Bigger than you think

The canteen is alot bigger than I could imagine but works wonderfully. My only gripe is the strap is not that long even when adjusting it to the fullest

It work’s alright.

There were reviews saying this is a bad product and my friend said he bout one a few years ago and it broke the first time he used it. I’m gonna take it horse camping with me tonight and see how it holds up.

Well..it works.

I had one of the true originals of these when I was a kid. The poncho material that insulated that one was solid material. But the material on this has already torn within a day or two of hiking. Very thin fabric. The alloy and plastic used seem to have good integrity. No problems with the strap/sling either. Maybe those elements have improved so much over the years that there is no need for the thick poncho material that is supposed to insulate the canteen. Therefore the material on these recent versions may just be for nostalgic aesthetics. I don’t know. Still giving this one a four out of five.

This canteen brings me joy.

I love This canteen!!! I had one like it decades ago in scouts. I recently purged that old rusty one, because i liked looking at it but not actually drinking from it, so i decided to replace it. When it arrived my 6&8 year olds decided they wanted them too. I didn’t want to end up carrying all 3 of them on our hikes so I decided to return it and buy hydration backpacks instead. Those worked out great for that but not everyday use and I never got around to returning this guy. It road around in the car with us until the day after the return deadline. Since i paid for it i had better use it. This guy is a bigger version than my old one. It’s giant! It makes me laugh. And It just so happens that It’s exactly the right amount of water that i should be drinking daily, which is a lot. You can take your current weight in pounds, and multiply that by 1/2 to 2/3rds . For seriously, I googled it. It’s a conversation starter, people love it. Some mistake it for a purse or a drum. It’s fun. It’s brought up some great conversations about the health benefits of drinking water and about the importance of ensuring clean water for everyone, everywhere . By using it I’m cutting way back on my single use plastic waste, which may also come up in conversation. It’s stylish and unique. The strap is exactly the right length, fits like a purse. The part you drink from is white plastic. Something to think about, make sure you carry something, like a bandana, to wipe your lipstick off of it before it stains. The only reason I would consider A lower star rating is because after using it consistently for a very short amount of time, like 2 weeks, the lid broke. In the canteens defense, it was probably user error, as I saw My child holding it by the lid loop, which broke it even more. Now I have To make sure it’s upright constantly or there’s a giant puddle. I’m going to buy another one, it’s a great price. I’ll probably try to use a special plastic glue to fix it and keep as a back up. CHEERS!!

The strap is cheap and much too short

I always use this type of canteen out in the desert, but this brand is cheaper than I’m used to. What’s most disappointing is, the strap is too short.

Great for rustic trail rides

Purchased for a couple who go on long trail rides, they used on one recently. They said they really liked it and they liked it better than the water bottles they have used in the past. We also purchased the water purifier system so they could get additional water on trails if needed. My only fault with one canteen is the cloth cover on one had a small rip and they needed it before we could buy another,

Agua siempre fresca

Utilizo esta cantimplora para cuando voy para mi finca. Es cómoda para llevar, mantiene el agua o jugo siempre fresco . Me encanta y la recomiendo para cuando estamos lejos de casa.

Excellent product

Very practical canteen for hiking.

Keep looking this isn’t your dad’s blanket canteen.

This is a good size canteen, holds a gallon of water but the plastic is not BPA free so not a good idea to leave water in it for long periods of time especially in temperature extremes. The finish is not the best it looks ok from a distance, the color is pretty nice, but up close it looks cheaply constructed. This thing won’t hold up over time it isn’t worth $30 probably should sell for half that amount. The strap is short which is fine if you’re mounting on a saddle but too short to comfortably carry on your person.

Piece of garbage

All the clasps holding the strap snapped off first time I’ll filled it up and cut my husbands finger. First time using it. Junk junk junk. What a waste of good money. Don’t even bother ordering from them. Quality control is out the window. It was a mad gift so I couldn’t return it during the time frame. Plus who uses a canteen during the winter. It’s for my husband’s construction job. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!

Cool water, cooler canteen

I bought this one for myself and the matching 2 qt canteen for my 5 year old son. All the cool parent/kid pairs match. It is really stylish with the retro canteen look, and keeps the water inside cooler than just a water bottle. The metal guide on the side does cut into the strap material, which was disappointing but I'll rig up a piece of plastic or tape it or something. Overall a satisfying and useful purchase

The product didn't come with many details about it as it is just a canteen, so I followed up with the company and found out that this is a plastic vessel that is not BPA free and they don't recommend leaving water in it for more than a day. So as such I will not be using it. I will be looking for a safer option such as stainless steel or BPA-free food grade plastic.

Useless because the strap is way too short.

Strap is way too short. Yes I extended it fully before trying it. It is like a kids strap on a large canteen. Totally useless for a larger man!!! Which is too bad because I do wilderness hikes, including hot desert conditions, and need to carry lots of water. I like canteens but they need to fit right to carry them long distances over my shoulder. Below is a photo of me showing the way a canteen is supposed to hang off the shoulder. The one sold here would only fit a small shouldered person at best and still be too tight.
