Quality od green canteen pouch

Gave 4 stars because it needs modified to really hold gi stainless steel canteens well. But i managed to fit the full canteen set,Lid i had to buy extra also. The modification is simple,Just cut a good circle in top the pouch lid. Holds purification tablets and lighters on side pockets.

Cheap plastic.

I took this cover to the field once and the buckle immediately cracked and came free from the fabric. Poor overall construction. Save your money and buy and open top version.

Works well for the money

I'm giving 4 stars because I'm not sure how it'll hold up over time, but so far it's working fairly well. The material seems a bit flimsy, but the straps and buckles are solid, and it's survived 2 weekends of running, diving, rolling, etc in battle drills without coming apart, detaching from the harness, or ejecting the canteen. Will revisit this review in future depending on how long it lasts.

I have this cover, a US-Mil issued cover, and a cheaper cover. Of all 3, this one is my favorite. Plenty of room in the main compartment, and also the side compartments. The Molle on the back can be fitted to a pack or belt, alice clips can even be installed. On drawback, that is easily fixed, is the lid/cover. It just felt too high and floppy. I made a triangular cut, following the "V" of the straps, on the lid. Now the top of the canteen can protrude through the pack, the top of the pack tightens down snuggly (photo attached. sorry they rotate it 90-deg). I did this because I also carry a GI-style cup/stove/lid which the canteen nests into. This method keeps everything "tight" and quiet. On a side note, I store the lid for the cup in the very bottom of this cover, so far, this is the ONLY pouch I have found that I could do that with. The cover is thick and very rugged. I'd have no issue taking this into the bush for several weeks at a time, and not have to worry if it will hold up.

OK Cover

A bit flimsy. The canteen cover does not fit comfortably on the nalgeen oasis bottle (a direct replacement for the 1qt GI canteen). It doesn't sit well over the top/cap like my issue one did and tends to stretch the fabric. The molle straps/snaps are secure, though. The side pouches have Velcro, but mine was poorly stitched, and I wouldn't trust the pouches to hold a compass or anything more than purification tablets or possibly a micro first aid kit. The pouch has 2 cinch tight barrel locks & drawstring, but they are much thinner than issued canteen covers The cordura nylon fabiric used is of lesser quality, and the sewing doesn't seem like it will last more than a few trips The canteen cover has 2 MOLLE straps, 3 PALS and a drain grommet in the bottom. the grommet looks like it is stamped steel instead of the brass used on issue canteen pouches, so this may rust over time. This is an OK item for playing army or day hikes, but I don't think it will withstand field duty or heavy use. However, for an occasional use item, the shipping was quick and the price is low.

Canteen Cover

I purchased two of these because the Rothco canteen covers suck. I figured these would be higher quality...and I was right. These are great canteen covers as well as dump pouches for various odds and ends that nned to be carried other than water. They can be cinched up tightly and the pockets on the sides are equally beneficial for water purification tablets or other small items. I had planned on putting the Rothco canteens in these, but I hate to put such a crappy canteen in such a nice pouch. I guess I'll get out my old issue canteens, clean them up and give them a nice new home. Additionally, I'm not a big fan of the MOLLE system, but I was able to use the straps on the back to mount these on a pistol belt with "H" harness and they seem to be pretty secure.The can, of course be mounted with ALICE clips, but the ones I have are after-market and are as crappy as the Rothco canteens and covers.

Good pouch

Fits a nesting cup just fine. I’ve got one of those titanium cup/pan combo with a lid and it’s not too tight. I cut a triangular hole for the canteen lid but I knew that from another review. Side pouches are big enough for both iodine tab bottles to one pouch. I’d buy another

Other than no cammo options, no complaints.

Would have preferred a woodland or digi cammo option, but a canteen, cup, lid and fitting stove fits with no problem. The outer pockets are good for Esbit cubes and a mag/flint fire starter. The Esbit square stove will not fit in the outside pockets as they are tapered at the bottom. Use the stove that fits over the cup. The Molli straps allow for use with web pistol belt or smaller - quick on and off. The adjustable collar is nice, but don't know if it will hold up under heavy use. Overall, it satisfies my needs, and worth the price.
