High Power
To start, I love this dremmel. I’ve got five dogs that have their nails done once a week, every week. That’s a lot of work for one dremmel. Overall, it doesn’t overheat and tolerates a lot of use in one go. The only issues I have are that the drill bit is hard to secure and remove, and the paper itself moves nonstop on the holder. It doesn’t matter if you change it to a new one or not, I can’t get it to stay still, and that makes doing nails very difficult because if you aren’t careful it flies right off.

Difference sizes, more options.
Fit's any type tool for dogs, different sizes give you more options. At this low price buy more often, they seem to work best new, when the wear down replace, less heat on the nail. Good Product for dogs that allow this type of contact...

Powerful and ready to go when you are
This is the third grinder I've owned, the other two were battery powered and the battery wore out and was almost as expensive to replace as the grinder itself. I was happy to see this product for this price on Amazon, because a corded grinder is going to give you more consistent speeds (the battery powered one would slow down as the battery died). I guess maybe it was because the battery was old but every single time I went to use the thing the battery was totally dead. That meant I had to wait until the next day to do my dogs' nails. Now that I have two dogs that is unacceptable. The quality of this grinder is nice. It's not too loud. It has two speeds. The low speed seems to be high enough to get the job done. A little assembly is required, but it's not difficult. The most important thing is probably tightening the screw that holds the band to the drum. A lot of people have complained about it slipping, but I can tell you the same thing happened on my Dremel until I learned to make sure the band was on tight. There were some concerns from other reviewers about power. I have a 60# dog and on low speed it works fine on her nails. You don't want this to be too powerful because if you have a dog with long hair and you get hair wrapped around this, you want it to stop. I think it's good enough to do the job. You're just filing nails here. My only concern right now is the cord on this is very thin and seems flimsy. And, instead of the cord detaching from the end that goes into the grinder so it would be replaceable, it detaches from the brick that plugs into the wall. So, you could replace the brick, but not the cord. If it breaks, I'll come back and update my review. I hold onto things forever, so the durability and serviceability are important to me. IF YOU'RE NEW TO GRINDING NAILS: I detest clipping my dogs' nails. A few years ago I discovered grinding as the way to go and I will never clip again. When I got a puppy and she wasn't used to the grinder I tried buying clippers on her since she is so much smaller than my other dog (15# versus about 60#). With her nails being smaller and softer I thought I could clip them. The first time I used them went fine. The second time I hit the quick and I don't know who felt worse, her or me. It doesn't take long to condition your dog to accept the grinder. I found a video on the internet that walks you through it step-by-step. Start with the grinder off, just show it to her and give her a treat. Then hold the grinder, still off, and put it up to her foot as you hold it and give her a treat. Slowly work your way up to actually grinding and giving her treats often.

nice nail grinder for the price
I'm a professional dog groomer and I like this nail grinder because it is light weight, easy to hold and is fairly quiet. The one problem I have with it is that there is no way to keep the nail dust from going inside the grinder. I use a vacuum in hopes that it will clean out the nail dust but I still burn (?) them up. If you are using it for your own pets I think it will last you a very long time. I use it on dogs of all sizes from Chihuahuas to Great Danes and it works great!

Fantastic value, easy to use, works great!
Love that it is light weight, easy to hold, and quiet! I have been using nail grinders for 16 years. I have the Oster nail grinder that was 4 times the price of this one. This one is smaller, fits in my hand better, and is as powerful, quiet, and effective as the Oster. I purchased this for our holiday home. It is my favorite to use. I use the smaller tiny sanders as I have a 3 pound chihuahua that has tiny nails... especially the dew claws. I highly recommend this for anyone with pets who hate having their nails clipped. I suggest that if your pets have never been exposed to the noise of a nail grinder, to start just by holding the grinder near them (unplugged) let them sniff it, tough their feet with it. Hold their feet and play with their toe beans getting them used to you handing them. Then while relaxing, just run the motor. stop it, let them smell it. and get used to the sound of the motor and vibration while petting them. Then once they are used to that, touch the body of the grinder to their feet while running to get them used to the sound and vibration... slowly you will be able to begin buzzing their nails. Start off with just touching the tips of their nails... let the pet react and relax... lather rinse repeat. Never touch to the nail any longer than the count of 4 seconds. Nails heat up from the friction and can cause pain. So Touch to one nail, the next, the next all the way across each foot, lather rinse repeat. Before you know it, you will be buzzing their nails super quick. Update June 2021, this nail grinder is still be quiet, even soon, perfect for my dog's nails.

Good product, some reviewers need a lesson in how to use basic power tools.
First time I have been able to do my dogs nails without him going completely ballistic. Note to those that see the bad reviews about the sanding drums falling off: this is 100% user error. Just like with a Dremel tool, you need to tighten that screw on the top of the bit to grip the sanding drum properly, this is normal operation, as you tighten it is squeezes out the rubber so that it holds firm against the sides of the sanding drum. If the sanding drum comes off, you didn't tighten it properly. It is much quieter than my Dremel tool, especially at the low speed setting, making it a lot easier to deal with, though I would recommend only using it to do maintenance trimming as it would take a long time to trim long nails using this method. My dog doesn't seem to mind it and it doesn't seem to concern him the same way other cutting tools do.

Power supply issue unit seized without a first touch to the dog
I was SO looking forward to trying this. I have a small 17 year old who was recently traumatized by an over agressive nail tech and got cut twice. The wrapping on the power voltage box looked a little off but I still continued assembly. Took a bit to figure it out mounting the drum and why the wrench wouldn't fit on the silver bit to tighten. Plugged it in, I see a RED light in the voltage box but it doesnt say in the instructions this is "bad" or just "on". I tested it away from my face and away.feom the dog about 10 seconds. Sounded good. Went to start on my dogs paw and POP noise even before i touched him and the smell of burning in the power voltage plug. So that was it...poof...not even one use. Hopefully it was a one off defective but I'm not plugging it in again

Golden retriever approved
Great grinder for my golden retriever who's a giant scaredy cat. Don't have to worry about the grinder getting caught by the nail as with lesser powered ones. As other reviewers have mentioned, you have to use the Philips head (x screw driver) to tighten the bits at the top after slipping on the sand paper to make it so it does not slide. Con: -no grinding bit protection. Long fur can get caught but it has a auto stop to prevent pulling when caught -wish it had a more useable container for the extra bits

Excelente compra.
