Good choice for the EV charging toolkit

Works well to take advantage of 6-50 welder plugs in shops and barns for EV charging. Might want to label it “EV USE ONLY” considering the neutral may be floating.

What I received appears to be defective, one of the hot blades is 5/16" shorter than the other

Received this item yesterday. The narrow hot flat blade on the 6-50P side is 5/16" shorter than the wide hot flat blade. I am almost positive the two hot blades should be the same length! Product does not have any Westinghouse nomenclature stamping anywhere on the product. If anyone who ordered this product can verify the lengths of the two hot blades, that would be greatly appreciated.

Not for RV use!

If you are planning on using this to hook an RV to an existing welder outlet... Don't! This is 2 hots and a ground. The neutral just dead ends inside the adapter. This could do major damage to your RV. It does, however, transfer the hots and ground properly, so if you are using something that doesn't need a neutral, this will work perfectly.

Convenient.

Nicely made and having one 240 V receptacle (6-50R), this plug allows multiple uses. However, the neutral on the 14-50 side is not connected to the ground on the 6-50P side. Having a floating neutral caused fits with my EV charger requiring me to install a separate 14-50 receptacle.

Use 14-50 charger with my 6-50 outlet

I have 6-50 outlet for my Tesla and my other EV charger has14-50, very useful for attaching charger with 14-50 plug. I carry with me while travelling so if I have 14-50 or 6-50 outlet, I am covered.

Solid adaptor

Great adaptor to have on hand for remote EV plug conversation. Only wish it had some holes in the mould to for zipties to hold the adaptor to the plug or outlet.
