Tough little wrist guard

I originally bought the medium size, but it was too small. I exchanged it to the large size. This does run small, so be careful. other than that, I use it for scooter riding. I am feeling much more confident when wearing it. I recently had a fall when riding scooter. my palm was injured, that is why I started looking for protection. This fits very well and offers great protection maybe even too much protection. Once you wear it, you might loss some agility to move your fingers. I would say it is ok for scooter riding. because of the palm protection, I can't hold the scooter handle bar fully inside my palm as compared to not wearing it, but it is really not a big deal. Having had an accident fall recently, I would say this is the one to get for wrist protection. If I fell again, and landed with my palm on the ground, I am confident this would provide support and cushion. I would be in much better position if I fell again. Do get the knee and elbow protection from this brand too, the same model offers also knee protection. Once your knee, palm, elbow and wrist is protected, let it fall, no harm anymore, just make sure you don't fall on the side where cars run over.

Love the product, not the seller

I love these wrist guards, just not the seller. My first time ordering I only received one guard. When I reordered them they sent me two left hand guards. It was just a waste of time and resources. I should have just bought them from a local shop or 187. I will say I love the product!! I draw for a living so my hands and wrists must be protected. This is my third pair (I skate daily so I run through my gear quicker than some) and I have tried nearly every wrist guard. These are my favorite. Most wrist guards have a removable splint and after time the splint will start slipping out of the wrist guard rendering it useless. These guards are more like palm sliders that extend to mid wrist (one large plastic piece) so you don’t have to worry about them falling apart. I know one reviewer mentioned they are slippery and they are not wrong. When I first get my guards I will rub them against concrete to scuff up the plastic so they have a little more grip. I recommend doing this especially if you plan on doing hand plants, inverts, etc. I definitely recommend buying these, just purchase from your local skate shop or buy them online from 187 or any other skate retailer who has them in stock.

Great Quality. Runs Small!

I like the form factor and have heard great things from friends, but these are definitely targeting smaller folks. I am on the low side of XL and these are *just* south of being too tight. I'm expecting them to wear in a bit and be comfortable. (I'll update this review if they end up being too tight after a month) If you're anywhere near 11" then definitely look for something else. With all that said, these are definitely the highest quality guards I've found in this price bracket by far. I didn't see sizing info on Amazon, so here is it from 187's site. (Measured around Small: 7 - 8in Medium: 8 - 9in Large: 9 - 10in X-Large: 10 - 11in

Best wrist guards I've bought to date!

I'm a 50 and already went through the decade of wearing pads while learning. I also don't do tricks anymore but I bought these for my 10yr old daughter who is OBSESSED to learn to skate. We've been working at it on and off for years and these guards are without a doubt the most comfortable while still doing the job. They don't have a ridiculous over kill of guard and material. It's just right and only has the proper coverage that's needed so when you slam your wrists are good to go. I HIGHLY recommend ALWAYS wear at minimum wrist guards. Coming from someone who has broke nearly everything at one point. These wrist guards are the only ones you'll want. Sure you can do what I 1st did and go for the all in one wrist, knee, elbow cheap set from a company that I can't pronounce. And have the same experience I did with your kid refusing to wear anything because their all so bulky and total over kill that make it impossible to even skate. Or spend $25 on excellent wrist guards and have your grom wear em every time. We play and do sports all year long and a broken wrist at any time would ruin soccer, baseball, surfing, Kung Fu, swimming etc. These are a must

had to come up with plan B after my wrist injury. oh man .. saved me already at least twice ???? fits perfect (went for size S - but very small wrist), perfect for skating (especially after a fracture).

Really Tough

These pads are really tough and it seems to not matter that they don't have the additional brace on the back. I have fallen hard in them and not felt it. I really like the compactness so I can wear my watch still, just a bit further up my arm and my favorite feature is being able to pull them on like a glove instead of trying to juggle with straps!
