Great tongs!!

I find these tongs to be really "heavy duty". I use them all the time and I believe they will last for many years. I have difficulty bending over to pick item off the floor when I drop them so I keep a pair of these tongs in my "walker" so I can pick up things from the floor easily. I also keep a pair in my bathroom for when I drop my soap, washcloth or towel!!

Sturdy, Nice - BUT DO NOT LOCK

Sadly these have no locking mechanism to close the tongs. I've never owned a pair of tongs that didn't have this so was shocked when these did not because I thought they all came with that. Looking at the photos they clearly show 1) no locking mech and 2) the tongs are open. So there you go, buyer beware. Other than that they seem to be of good quality. I bought in two sizes (would not have had I bought only one first, because the no lock mech). Anyway, these would likely be 4 or 5 stars if they'd just integrate that one feature. I am keeping them but will not buy again.

I like them, and here is why

First, they are not stainless because a magnet does want to stick, but does not quite make it, but it does pull towards these. So perhaps some sort of cheap pot metal. There is also no lock mechanism of any kind. They are quite light weight for their size. That being said, I love them and hope they don’t break on me. They do an excellent job at holding medium sized thick steaks (I have not tried large ones yet.) I love how balanced these feel and light weight when picking up the food, but also sturdy. I like how far away from the stove my hand is as well. Now, that being said, it does a great job at picking up small things like pieces of okra as well when you have to flip them, however, at that point it doesn’t feel so great on your wrist, In fact, if your wrists cramp, that will probably happen. The lack of locking mechanism does not bother me as they do not open up extra wide, but I can see how it might some. I would put a rubber band or something on the end if that’s an issue. I provably wouldn’t put these in the dishwasher; maybe I will one time to see what happens, but I fear they will start developing rust and/or that white crust. We’ll see. I will update.

These are the best to use on the grill. Nice long length and is extremely controllable.
