Flip foods and maybe the finger!
Was a little bigger than I was anticipating, not good or bad just bigger. Has a very nifty locking tabs that you align together to kee locked but the silicone parts come to a bend/angle which seems nice for flipping flat foods and such.

Hard to grip foods
I really wanted to love these tongs. My go-to for kitchen utensils is OXO, but it happened to be unavailable when my last set of tongs went kaput. My biggest gripe about these is that they do a poor job actually gripping food. In particular, it can't handle noodles which makes eating hotpot a pain. The lock feature is also difficult to use (or at least not as easy as my other tongs). I thought I could just make do, but life is short and it really isn't worth being annoyed with every time I use it. I gave up and purchased some other silicon tongs instead.

Wanted to love it
I’m a big fan of their products but these were disappointing. Just not strong grab.

Not working very well.
It is hard to lift stuff because it is not closing tight.

Works Great
I love this item. I already had one and just wanted to get another one. I have pans that you can not use metal spatula on and the plastic spatula I had a problem getting under the food to flip it. I was chasing it all around the pan. This one words very well, makes it easy to flip your food. You can use for other things, such as tossing salad, servicing, really anything!

They don’t grip food.
It’s awkward. Tried to turn pork chops in frying pan - it didn’t happen. The tongs don’t get a good grip on the food so they are useless. Glad I didn’t toss the ones I charred- they still work better than. These.

Not upto the brand name
I have used this brands other kitchen products also based on that I decided to purchase this tong too but it was not upto the mark. If you have salads or something lighter to toss then it’s for you but if anything a little heavy food like chicken pieces it’s a struggle and you will need another thing to help you toss it. So for me it’s a waste as I purchased it for tossing tikka on grill.

Good at what it does.
First of all, I bought these two years ago when they were $13. I wouldn't pay $25 for them (the price that they are at the time of writing). There are a number of tasks that these tongs underperform at when compared to more traditional tongs. You can't use them at all if you're left-handed. They don't open enough to pick up things that are on the larger side, have trouble gripping onto heavier things, and are clumsier at picking up really small things. On the plus side, they work great for everything in between and they are MUCH easier to clean than tongs that have little nooks inside the hinge mechanism. Since they are a single piece, they have fewer parts to break, and I expect they will last a long time. These qualities are what appealed to me when I bought them, and they serve that purpose.

Stupidly hard to use.
I'm actually really annoyed. You'd think a designer such as Joseph Joseph would get tongs wrong, but yet hear I am writing this review. First of all they've ungaingly large. To the point that i'm not really sure what they meant to be used for. Not enough space to work as a good salad tosser, too thick to flip eggs and the most annoying aspect, too flimsey to be able to pick up things to flip them over. Basically they are absolutely no replacement for either a set of metal tongs or a spatular. I bought these hoping that i could use them with my none-stick pans, i cook a lot of chicken pieces, sausgages, fish etc. But they've so damn useless at being able to grip and pick anything up, i'm thinking of looking for something better. Basically, they bend too much and are unable to hold anything within the tongs and takes dexturous & delicate positioning to do anything with any reasonable confidence. Like pick something up and not have it fall out. You get a point for looking nice, and a point for being usable on a none stick pan.

Uniquely diabolical in every way to an astounding degree of annoyance
I wish I'd read more of the reviews before buying and not ignored the negative ones, like a lot of people here I usually love all the Joseph Joseph stuff, but like some of the other comments here these tongs need their own circle of hell. I was so annoyed by their crappiness after 2 months of trying to like them I literally just put them in the bin, if it wasn't quite such a gross image I was going to take a pic and share here. Today they actually couldnt pick up rashers of bacon from the pack raw or cooking in the pan, this is almost certainly the full English breakfast worlds most common use of tongs. If I'd needed to pick up sausages I'd be still hungry, that's so far beyond their ability I'm going to need to cry for an hour and seek counselling. Can they fit in your hands, no, the steel spring is so strong and intransigent, they barely close, can I pick up anything, from a lettuce leaf to a sticky cube of something the universes most hopeless tongs couldn't fail to hold, no. Can they scrape up an egg, no, they fall out your hands. I tried holding a beef joint to sear it, waste of time, my life and a £20 joint, it leapt out their non-existent grip and rolled across the skillet then worktop to land on the cat litter in the tray we'd moved into the kitchen for a reason so stupid I darent explain. They were actually useful for scraping up burnt dog turd from a bizarre accident when our Pug (called Brian) had a very understandable "accident" after stealing a chilli kebab and discovering his irritable bowel syndrome triggered, the back-spray hit the Aga and the heat bonded it more than you might care to believe, well, I guess this is pretty much the only use these tongs have found to be remotely useful. So, if you have violently explosive toiletry class accidents upon hot surfaces, I'd highly recommend these tongs for scraping duty, you are going to feel really good about buying them as you clean up and throw them in the bin. Personally I never write negative reviews but in this case I'm making an exception, it's hard to imagine anyone designing something so bad, but if they had, it's even harder to think they can get past manufacturing, marketing or customer support. I can only sit back in awe at Anyone who managed to get these through the whole process and keep them on sale.

Nice design but not practical.
Beautiful design. But hard to use, heavy and open small. Regular tongs work much better.
