Happy with my purchase (from someone who almost always suffers from buyers remorse)
After doing some research, I picked this as my first wine fridge. I needed a fridge that would last me through at least 1 move and 4 more years of school, and most reviews I found on different sites from people who bought the same model fridge said they'd been running without a problem for years. The fridge was well packaged, delivered by UPS with labels and packaging very clearly showing what was inside. No dents on the box. Easy to unpackage, and is very aesthetically appealing straight out of the box. The tint on the glass door is perfect- the interior is still visible-ish without the interior light on, so the fridge blends in perfectly with all my black shelving. Because I went with a thermoelectric fridge over a compressor, I decided against putting it in my (poorly-ventilated) kitchen, but besides the tiny read out for temp and the buttons, it's a fairly non-descript (and small, much smaller than I imagined) addition to my living room. And its very quiet. The noise it makes is a low hum, so once I got used to the new hum in my living room, it very easy to tune out. My humidifier makes more noise than the fridge (another score for thermoelectric!). My one gripe is that the racks inside aren't very accomodating for irregularly sized wine bottles. Of the 14 bottles I had to store, 4 couldn't fit in the standard shelving. I took one shelf out, but the rounded divets in the metal for bottles were too small for 1 bottle as well. I ended up putting 3 large bottles on the bottom shelf and stacking the 4th on top of that. It's only a gripe because it wasn't what I had planned, but I didn't deduct any stars because once the door is closed, the tinted glass doesn't show the stacked bottles. Just got it today, but will try to remember to update my review in 1 years time. Edit: 2yrs and 2 moves in and its still going strong. I have a dedicated thermometer/hygrometer in there to make sure the temp in the door is accurate, and it is. Very, very happy with my purchase. Of course, getting a wine fridge may mean getting more wines that you think you'll drink soon but you end up cellaring. But in this hypothetical situation, you may not have a place to cellar wines. So you may start looking for a "cellar fridge" so that the Whynter fridge can be for wines you plan on drinking soon.

Mostly satisfactory little fridge, good for $200 or less
This is a mostly good wine fridge. It keeps a constant temperature (unless there's a blip--see below); its shelves are all totally removable; it runs very quietly, just a light constant humming. Reasonable ambient temperatures do not affect the functioning of the unit in my experience, although I haven't put it outside in the summer to really test this. I put a separate thermometer inside the unit to monitor its temp, and it's stable. Really cool technology. I appreciate the lack of coolant liquids and gases, the small amount of moving parts, and the constant little hum instead of a cyclical louder noise. The main problem is that any blip in power--even a blink--causes it to reset to the default 54 degrees. The seller says it has an automatic reset that keeps the temperature the same after an interruption, but this is untrue for mine. Additionally, the interior vent at the back of the unit leaks what I assume to be condensed water from the air outside the unit, so a thin trail of water develops and collects in a little pool next to the drain hole. I have to wipe it about once a week. Finally, there's a weird smell inside the unit, kind of like chlorine and plastic. I got it for $163, which I think is a good deal. Then it jumped to over $400, which is not a good deal. I'd say it's worth up to $200.

THE BEST small capacity wine chiller on the market
I personally spent hours researching a good quality wine chiller that fits within the boundaries of our home. This is one of the quietest units you'll find on the market (thermoelectric units being vanishingly difficult to find) and so is great for use near living areas. We measured the sound level at ~40 decibels. The temperature holds steady and the unit doesn't generate excessive heat. Obviously, the caveat here is that the unit needs to be kept in an area around room temperature for proper functioning since thermoelectric units don't cool as aggressively as condensers. The ONLY downside is the storage capacity. It won't hold the advertised amount unless the bottles are all the thin/standard size. This however, is par for the course for these smaller-style units. Overall, if you're looking for a unit that will reliable hold ~12-15 bottles of varying sizes that's whisper quiet, this is your best bet by far.

Nice wine cooler
Very nice wine cooler for the money. The temp display on our unit is within a degree or so of accurate (I just allow for this in my setting) and the temp control seems to be consistent. The unit is very quiet and well behaved, it just sits there doing its job. My only complaint is that the racks are a tight fit so it is easy to tear up the wine labels as you get them in and out of the cooler (1 star off for this). Still, for the price I would definitely buy again.

Liked it so much I bought a second one.
My old wine cooler died so I started the search for a replacement. I saw some with dual temperature and liked the idea, but most had many poor reviews so I was reluctant. The Whynter has better review but I'd have to get used to having only 20 bottles at the ready instead of 36 like I was used to. Why not two? I ordered one and after it was delivered and put in place, I was quite pleased. A few hours later I placed another order and that was delivered today (gotta love Prime) One is set at 48 degrees for whites, the other set at 60 degrees for reds. The thermostat is easy to set and the readout for temperature is within a degree of another thermometer I know to be accurate. When running, the use only 75 watts of power. With both running you can barely hear them. The price makes them a good value. I saw others selling for 6X to 10X the price. The only thing that remains is to check durability so I'll report back in 5 or 10 years.

Works great, nice and quiet
Works great, nice and quiet! Struggles to keep at 41°F during a heat wave, goes up to about 50°F but still does a great job all the rest of the time so I can overlook that.
