Shame on whirlpool for this price
Ok gang, these are just some flimsy metal with holes pre drilled. Definitely not worth what they are charging here but believe it or not this is cheaper than factory direct. I have no option but to use these but the margin they make on these things just be 95%. -update, just realized… these aren’t OEM whirlpool as advertised!!! Buyer beware!

Not a Whirlpool part and it's short
This is not a Whirlpool part. It's a universal part manufactured by Imperial Cal Products Inc. This is not the problem. I thought that since the item is being sold on Whirlpool store on Amazon, it fits Whirlpool microwave perfectly. It does not. As seen in the posted pictures, the part is a bit short which makes the whole setup does not look very good. I am not sure why they don't make it one inch longer! The interesting thing is that when I called Whirlpool company to verify that this is the product they really recommend for the model of my microwave, they said, we are not responsible for items not sold directly by Whirlpool website even Whirlpool store on Amazon. Weird!

Great answer, just pricey
This is a great answer to fill the extra space when replacing a 36" hood with a 30" microwave. Just peel off the protective film and install before you do final hanging of microwave and you'll be fine. As for the cost, this was more than 50% of the cost of the microwave itself, so I was not happy about that, but they do look great.

They don't fit without cutting them
I thought the reason that they were almost as expensive as the microwave was that they were a custom size for it. Neither dimension matched the microwave Depth and height needed to be cut. Another very frustrating thing: the screw hole locations. You screw these fillers into your cabinets before mounting the microwave. The holes near the elbow are so difficult to reach . Why wouldn't they make a hole on the opposite edge, so you can fit a screw driver through it and reach the screw that you are trying to screw in? It would be such an obvious improvement. I would give this less stars, but it actually looks better than any alternative we could think of, so ultimately, I am glad that we go them. They should just provide a disclaimer that they need to be cut.

Expensive but needed.
This product does exactly what it is intended to do. It is however, overpriced in my opinion. Since my builder made my house with a 36” opening for a microwave I had no choice but to buy this product since 36” microwaves are no longer available.

Does the job
Works as expected and matches the finish on my kitchen aid microwave. Is it a perfect solution? No but I don’t have other options. It was easy to install.

Not a professional looking result.
I'm not sure why this is called a trim kit if it isn't the same the legnth as the microwave, even when the brand is the same. This Whirlpool trim is 3+ inches shorter than the Whirlpool microwave so the finished look is not what you expect at all. My package was missing the mounting hardware too, not that screws are hard to come by.

Had to cut
Had to cut to fit, either way I put them it would not fit right, either stuck out too far, or hung down too low. Other than that they are great.
