Perfect size
I was originally looking at the Predator generators to power my new camper. My camper needs at least 1.8kW continuous to run the AC and the fridge at the same and the 2kW Predator only provides 1.6kW continuous and the jump up to 3.5kW unit was huge in both price and size. There is an apparent hole in their product line for the 2.5kW class of generator. So I saw Honda makes a 2.2kW unit, but the Honda units are very expensive. So, I found this 2.5kW Westinghouse that had good reviews and ordered one. So far I've only run it for the 5 hour break-in with varying a light load, but it's pretty quiet once you aren't standing right on top of it and I can barely hear it inside my garage with it running right outside the door. I like the Eco mode to drop the RPMs to idle when there's no electrical draw and I really like the LCD display with fuel and power output gauges. Having a digital display that shows fuel remaining in liters, runtime until empty (at current power output), power output, voltage output, and lifetime running hours is just really convenient. It's pretty compact too and easy to move around. It has some nice things I wasn't expecting like the fuel cap has a metal chain retaining it to the unit, the filter inside the filler neck has a big red FULL marker to avoid overfilling, it came with a toolkit including a screw-in funnel for the oil port, and the spark plug has an easy access cover over it. It is a carbureted unit like every other generator, so sometimes there's a smell of fuel after moving it around or if it gets tipped on its side. Also the carb doesn't have any kind of adjuster screw for tuning the fuel, so if you plan to use this in high altitude you need to order the high altitude kit from Westinghouse. The kit comes with 3 different sets of jets and seals for varying altitudes from 2k'-7k'. The procedure to swap the jets out looks a bit more involved than I had hoped for and looks like it will be a pain to do often. I plan on driving my camper from sea level up to 9k' and everywhere in between so I'll need to swap the jets fairly often depending on where I end up on that day in the mountains. So my only real complaint is that I wish the altitude adjustment was easier.

Paid for itself in a single use.
We live in a rural area with several power outtages per year, usually of short duration. But I was worried that someday we'd get a big one, so last July I bought this generator. My husband said we'd never need it, but this past week I had my big "I told you so" moment. Power went out for 55 hours, and we had a year's worth of meat in a chest freezer (about $500 worth) that was saved by this cute little generator. What it was able to do: This is not a huge, whole-house generator. We were able to alternate it, four hours at a time, between our regular refrigerator and a separate chest freezer. While doing that, we could also charge a laptop, phone, and have one lamp plugged in so we could read and play board games without relying on candles. When not using the lamp we could plug in a coffee maker, or a space heater, or a hair dryer. Not all of those at once, or it would shut down. (just unplug something and press the rest button and you're back in business.) We didn't try it for a clothes washer or dryer so I can't tell you whether that would have worked. The manual did say that it might not have enough wattage for large heat-producing appliances. But small heat producing appliances (coffee pot, space heater) worked okay. Used this way, it ran for over ten hours on one tank of gas. (Small tank, a little over a gallon, as I recall.) Portability: I'm a not terribly strong woman, but I could carry and or drag it from the garage to the house. My husband found it easier. We eventually put it on a dollie (small platform with wheels) to move it around the porch. Noise level: not bad. The neighbors' generators up and down our road were much louder than this one. With our windows closed, the noise level from this one did not reach the irritating level. Anyway, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Must have! Easy to use and take on the GO!
The Westinghouse 2200 Peak Watt Super Quiet & Lightweight Portable Inverter Generator is a reliable and efficient power source that is perfect for anyone looking for a quiet, compact, and lightweight generator. One of the standout features of this generator is its quiet operation. With a noise level of only 52 decibels, it is quieter than most conversation levels. This makes it perfect for camping trips or other outdoor activities where you don't want to disturb your surroundings. Despite its quiet operation, it delivers an impressive 2200 peak watts of power, which is enough to power a wide range of devices and appliances. The generator is also incredibly lightweight and compact, making it easy to transport and store. It weighs only 43 pounds, making it one of the lightest generators in its class. It also features an ergonomic handle, which makes it easy to carry, even over long distances. The generator's efficient inverter technology ensures that it delivers clean and stable power to your devices, while also reducing fuel consumption and emissions. This is especially important during times of emergency when power outages occur, as it ensures that you can keep your critical appliances and devices running. I had the opportunity to use this generator during a hurricane, and it was a lifesaver. When the power went out, I was able to use the generator to power my refrigerator, which kept my food from spoiling. I was also able to charge my phone and other devices, which kept me connected to the outside world. The generator's quiet operation was also a huge plus, as it allowed me to run it without disturbing my neighbors. In fact, it was so quiet that I barely noticed it was running. This was a huge relief, as the last thing I wanted to do was add to the stress of the situation. Overall, I would highly recommend the Westinghouse 2200 Peak Watt Super Quiet & Lightweight Portable Inverter Generator to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient power source. It is perfect for camping trips, outdoor activities, and emergency situations. Its quiet operation, lightweight design, and efficient inverter technology make it one of the best generators in its class.

Quiet, capable, good value.
Based on my experience of runnng the generator for ~2 hours and preparing it for long term storage not so good stuff(warning some of this is small potatoes) -took 10 days to receive -recoil would not retract after 2nd pull, replaced under warranty -spark plug replaced under warranty because engine missed a bit -carburettor float bowl drain tube is pinched by air cleaner housing making it hard to drain -cant feel the "click" when changing from choke to run mode good stuff -started on first pull -Westinghouse support is top notch, real pros -generator handled my 1500 watt test load just fine -generator runs smooth and quiet after warranty service -warranty replacement was done to my satisfaction, they even changed the oil interesting stuff -oil was very black after the first 90 minutes of break in hope that means the manufacturer puts graphite or similar in at the end of the production line to keep the cylinders from getting scored my unit was produced 11 months before I got it so I hope this is the case suggestions -I would have purchased a dedicated propane version of this product if it were available -an hour meter would be useful -a magnetic dipstick would be useful -a 12v dc outlet would be useful -if indeed they are using graphite or similar in the factory it would be nice if the manual mentioned that the black oil during break-in is to be expected -manual section for adjusting valve lash could be clearer

Early review, few days use, good and bad
I removed 2 stars for now for two main reasons: 1. Generac and Craftsman, and this one are the same generators, that's a concern for me, because it is not an original design and some Chinese company builds them and 3 different companies use the license/patent. This part is a bit frustrating. 2. The claimed 50ish DB noise is not really true. It runs much loader - 70-90 at serious loads. Yes maybe at 20-30 feet distance it gets lower, but I cannot drop the generator into water when I am on a lake and use it for my boat. It's not a submarine. So those are main issues I have with it. Otherwise, after using it for few hours, I have no complaints. It start from one light pull, on a warm day it doesn't even need the choke. Ran smoothly for me for the house - fridge, water pump, and some lights. On the boat I could run a coffee maker, tv, battery charger (mind the amperage goes from 6 to 2 amps on the generator, comparing to the shore power) playstation all at once. So far so good. I hope to remember to update this review after few months of use.

Used for over 1 year prior to review
So I purchased the iGen 2200 unit in 2019, to power my race car trailer - trailer interior lighting, fans, AC, coffee maker, 115v power outlets, TV & sound system, etc... I've been using the generator for over a year now before writing this review. Typical usage for me at the track is firing it up around 7am and not shutting it down until 9 to 10pm. The generator hasn't missed a beat and typically runs the whole day on a single 1.2 gallon fill of fuel. I've put around 150 hours on it so far and I am 100% satisfied with the purchase. Lots of friends in the paddock have Honda & Yamaha generators at more than double the price. Everyone agrees, the Westinghouse is just as quiet / reliable / powerful as the equivalent Honda / Yamaha units. My only suggestion for improvement, which don't warrant taking off a star, would be a fuel level indicator on the 2200 model. Also, filling the generator with anything other than a tiny fuel can guarantees you're going to make a mess trying to fill it full. As there is no fuel level indicator, and you can't really see inside the fuel tank while filling it, it overflows seemingly instantly. I've purchased a small 5L gas can that I use as a decanter for my large 20L jugs, just for filling the generator. No big deal but worth mentioning. Also, I paid $699.00 CAD on Amazon last year (regular price). Now it's almost $1,000. Seems these are going up in price, glad I purchased when I did.

Broken almost straight from the box.. Warranty big joke
Generator after couple times being used starts now with red overload light that goes away by itself after sometime.. It also runs uneven with no load hooked up to it. Warranty so far seems like a big joke. Almost month after I submitted the claim and I am still with not properly working generator. So far two different service shops that I was sent to by Westinghouse don't even work on this brand equipment. Well done Westinghouse!!! ----- update - red light was confirmed by Westinghouse as normal operation; unit was replaced and new one works fine so far

Excellent value
After limited ( and very successful use ) the only issue I have is the cheap plastic securing tabs that are on the service cover. All three tabs broke off on my first attempt at removing the cover even after being exceptionally careful after reading reviews of this flaw. Westinghouse is replacing the cover and I hope they have upgraded it. The pins are 5/16" diameter and are secured to the cover thru a 1/16" bracket . They could have easily been molded solidly to the cover for sufficient strength. ( some bright designer tried to save a cent?)
