Seems to be a good pump with some restrictions
I purchased this pump for the specific purpose of replacing my older ground water sump. I have always used Wayne pumps. I'm sure that this pump will do well, because it will only be used probably for a short period of time during the rainy season in the Spring. However, in reading the instructions for the pump, Wayne says that this pump is not designed to handle salt water, brine, laundry discharge, water softener, sewage, grey water, or any other application which may contain caustic chemicals and/or foreign materials. If used in these applications, it will void the warranty. That puts a limit on what this pump can be used for. I'm glad I was using the pump for ground water and not my sanitary sump. Make sure you know what you are going to used this pump for.

Finally Failed
Bought this pump for my basement back in 2015. I live in semi-arid Colorado and after 20 years of having no sump pump we got a rare heavy rain for several days and had an inch of water in the basement, I bought this and installed it and I don't think the thing ran but two or three tymes in eight years. Well, we got another rare rain spell and it failed. Just stopped working. Maybe eight years is good where it rains alot but not here in Colorado. My issue is, this one is not cheap and most folks around these parts have sump pumps still working after 20 plus years.

Float issue
The on and off for the float is to short, pump would be constantly on and off. Had to buy on and of sensors to turn the pump on and off as needed for my application. The pump is fine. Stock float did not work for my application.

Easy to install and quiet, good price too
Very easy to install with Wayne Pumps 66005-Wyn Check Valve. Took longer to take out the old one and cut the PVC pipe than installing this pump. It's also very quiet, much quieter than the old pump Zoeller 1/2 HP sump pump. That pump lasted 11 years, hope this lasts as long or longer. This pump is also a lot cheaper (1/2 the price when I bought it).

Highest Rated
Among Amazon users, this is the highest rated 0.5 hp sump pump. The device is heavy, because it is made of iron. Everything is "heavy duty," the power cord is long and durable, and the exit hole is standard size. . My only complaint is the short travel distance by the plastic float to initiate water pumping. The design triggers more short pumping actions, which will wear away the device faster.

Great pump, easy to install
Had our pump go out this winter, and luckily we could wait the couple of days for this to be delivered... just emptied water by hand once a day. Very easy to install and is MUCH quieter than our last one.

I and my bf Love it but...
It is a bit loud, but I’m sure it has to do with the fact that my bed andbedframe are on the ground and the pump is directly below me. I had my boyfriend install it for me. He said it was extremely easy, he is very impressed with the pump. I spent the extra money hoping it would be quiet because my pump is in my basement directly under my bed. So I can hear it very well. All the other pumps I purchased were SOOOO unbelievably loud. It would wake my son up form his sleep. I couldn’t have that happening. So he said this was the quietest pump that there is out there. So I obviously dished out the extra money for it. It runs very well and efficiently. But it does still make noise. He said that it is very quiet but I am being picky and that it is going to make noise no matter what. But it is the quietest of all the pumps I used. It works very well also. I just wish it were a bit more quiet... I can hear it right through my pillow through my bed frame and my bed is on the ground because of how my bed frame is set up. It’s ground level. That doesn’t help with the noise. Hope this helps anyone’s decision about this pump. My bf knows his stuff! he’s great with that kind of stuff so if he loves it then I think anyone would love it!

New sump pump
I needed a new sub pump the old one was working but very noisy I bought this sub pump because of the reviews and it didn’t let me down. The product is just like the manufacture states easy to install works great I added a new check valve dead silent. If you want a reliable and quiet sump pump I recommend this product anyone

Is it reliable
I bought this pump to replace a Simer pump I installed in 1993. I felt it was time. The Wayne pump is easy to install and it worked beautifully when I tested it by filling my sump pit; very quiet. That may be the only time it gets used except for testing occasionally. I live in an area where my weeping tiles drain directly into the sewer system. If the sewer system backs up then the excess water will run into my sump pit. That situation is a rare occurrence but it can happen. The sump pump is basically standing guard in case that happens. It provides peace of mind.

Best Sump
Purchased one for our last house and had there for four years. Just purchased another for our new house. This is the only pump I would trust.

Super quiet , little workhorse !
I have used the tether float system for years , in a narrow pit . This pump offered a VERTICAL FLOAT SYTEM , protected by a Metal wire loop, which will rub FIRST on the pit wall , vs . the float . No brainer , go with the vertical , and DOUBLE BONUS , switch is tested over 500 K times , and the actual float is a replaceable part fitting ALL models of Wayne vertical switches . Must do’s : Elevate the pump with a brick , etc on pit bottom ( 1” -2” will work ) And after much collaboration, even Wayne saying No Need , drill a Weep Hole, 3” up from pump attachment on discharge pipe, below check valve . Yes , the WAYNE PUMP , prevents cavitation, in the pump itself, but not the discharge portion. A really good Pump and proudly assembled in the USA ????????.
