Terrible
You literally have to hold the water pik upright for it to work properly. Really bad design

Convenient, small size; nice angle on the tips; wish it had tip storage for traveling
I like this product. It seems to be well made, features are pretty obvious, and the size is compact and convenient for travel. Regarding the size, there is a trade-off between being small enough to be comfortable and light, and big enough to hold enough water to floss all your teeth. I like the size of this item but it’s too small to floss your entire mouth with one filling. Plan on refilling at least once per session. I use it in the shower so I just turn off the flosser, open the fill port, fill it back up, and finish the job. Simple. Although it’s not clear from the instructions (or the Waterpik website), this flosser is waterproof according to the Amazon ad so I can use it in the shower without hosing down the entire bathroom. That is an important feature to me since I invariably shoot some water around each time I floss. That doesn’t matter if I’m in the shower. When flossing over the sink, I’ve hosed down the counter and wall more than once (yeah, I know, operator failure). I just tried it in the shower and didn’t get shocked so it seems to be safe to use there. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Charging is straightforward although the product doesn’t come with a wall plug. You have to supply your own 5V-1 amp plug. That’s a standard iPhone plug and we have several of them lying around so that wasn’t an issue for me. Based on my first use, the charge seems adequate for typical flossing. The unit is easy to turn on and off, and to adjust the strength of the stream. I have used a different brand of cordless flosser and found the other unit’s on/off button too sensitive. It was far too easy to either turn the unit off or change the settings. This Waterpik flosser doesn’t have those problems. Another advantage for the Waterpik is the angle of the tips. They are bent a little more than the other brand and I find it easier to get the right angle of the water stream with the Waterpik. One advantage to the other flosser that the Waterpik doesn’t have is a way to store one tip while traveling. That may prove to be a nice feature. Another advantage to the other unit is that it has a UV sterilizer setting to sanitize the reservoir. The Waterpik is cleaned by removing the water reservoir and washing. Here is what Waterpik had to say on their website (which I recommend users visit): “Place the reservoir in the top rack of your dishwasher for cleaning. We recommend air drying instead of a heated dry cycle. … Reservoirs can also be hand washed with warm soapy water.” The instructions say that the reservoir is removable but I thought I was going to break it when trying to take it off. Maybe with further use I will learn a better way to remove the reservoir besides brute force, at least I hope so. Otherwise, the little tabs inside the reservoir are going to break off at some point. I believe this is going to help me improve my oral self-care by being a convenient, easy to use device that I will actually USE as opposed to the bulky, inconvenient, messy counter-top model it is replacing. I believe that any issues identified above are minor and won’t affect day to day use of this flosser. Given all the pros and cons of the two flossers I’ve compared, I think the Waterpik will ultimately become my favorite and most-used. The sensitivity of the on/off button and ability to get to all my teeth with the angled tips are important advantages that tip the scales toward the Waterpik.

Works great, a little weird to get used to
This is my first water flosser, so it was really interesting to try to get used to. Even on the lowest pressure setting, it really pumps a lot of water in your mouth. It will take a little skill to keep the water from splashing out of your mouth while also draining it. Even at the lowest setting, it really cleans into the gumline well. Because you have to close your mouth around it to prevent splashing, it is harder to see what you are doing and if you are getting the right spot. Because it can easily make a mess, I would have liked the button oress patterns to work differently, such as setting the pressure level by quick pressing, and holding the button to keep it on. Maybe not the best way, but it takes a press and hold to get it to stop which takes a second. While this cleans teeth really well in the front, I'm not sure it can very easily get behind your teeth. I still had tonuse floss if I had a lot of plaque in the back to get out. From what I read online, water flossing can be as effective as regular flossing, but some regular flossing is still recommended. That makes me question the purpose of water flossing a little bit, but we'll ignore that. The compact design is convenient for travel, though it is still chunky, much bigger than floss, but at least it takes less space in your bathroom then too. It can take a little while to dry out as well and is a little awkward to dry. This is a very nice product, but definitely has some quirks to get used to.

Not quite what I hoped for, but good for travel.
I'm rewriting this review and adjusting the stars from 3 to 4 because I think I got this with the intention of replacing my at-home waterpik, but it is clearly designed for traveling and probably not intended to be a "daily driver". If you purchase with this mindset, you will probably be a little disappointed with the water reservoir size. The only reason I'm deducting a star, is because the usb-c rubber flap does not close easily over the port to protect it from getting water in it. I would imagine this could be a problem if not careful to do so. Secondly, it would have been nice to have an outlet converter, but I realize most items don't include that anymore. Thirdly, it's kind of frustrating to fill the water up within the container. It seems to be full when filling up the side, but then when you upturn it, there is noticeable amount of space between the water level and the top of the reservoir. You may also want to fill up the reservoir without the pik in, as this may bump up against the side of the sink while trying to fill it. The positives are that it is cool that it collapses, and it is compact enough to fit in a toiletry bag. Feels good to hold, and although small, the reservoir does contain enough water to get a "quick pass" of your teeth, but you will probably just end up refilling to get a thorough cleaning. The power was pretty good and felt comparable to my plug-in model of about an 8 or 9 on its highest setting. It also comes with a pretty cool bag to tote around with. I think if you purchase with the expectation of this device being a portable/travel waterpik, you will be happy with it.
