Could be improved.

I have had one of these before. After some use during one bottle opening a small plastic piece broke out of it, but it continued to work. It lasted for 2 to 3 years. When it quit working completely I tried several other types that weren't as easy to operate, nor did they work as well. I've even had two of the type that comes on their own stands. My wife and I love the simplicity of it. I just wish it would last longer. Having said that I will always own one unless they start breaking with way too much frequency.

Foil cutter does not work well. Just a wine bottle opener.

It opens wine bottle well, but it does not cut foil on the bottle.

Can't reccommend

I really liked this when I first got it. It seems well-made and very sturdy. It removed corks better and quicker than any of my previous openers and it was easy to use. It worked on any type of cork and most types of wine bottles. The only thing I didn't like was the "built-in foil cutter" as it was useless. Then, after 11 months of regular use, the screw started pushing the corks into the bottle which makes removal rather difficult, if not sometimes impossible. I figured it was time to change to the included extra corkscrew, but the instructions that came with it do not tell you how to replace the screw. I had contacted the company directly through their website, but never got an answer. I examined it closely to see if I could figure it out on my own. There was only one obvious way to get at the screw and that was a cap located on top of the screw located under the arm lever. Raising the arm and removing the cap was fairly easy. However, no matter what I tried or how much force I used, I was unable to remove the old screw. I'm going to end up throwing it away. For the price, I expect better.

This is the third Vinturi I have purchased, two were gifts.

I have had my Vinturi for two years now and it is still functioning. The two gifts are also still working well compared to the plethora of other wine openers like the Vinturi I have owned over the years. The foil cutter is lousy on all three but not a big issue. I will say that I have recently experienced difficultly with some corks needing an inordinate amount of pressure (strength) to insert and remove. Maybe the teflon cork screw needs to be replaced?

Not what I expected

Foil cutter did not appear to work very well and actually moving the lever to extract the cork required more strength than I anticipated. I got it because my carpal tunnel condition made using other corkscrews nearly impossible. This one helped some but not that much.

Very Easy to Use.

This opener was purchased to replace a Screw Pull devise that finally failed after 7-8 years (10-year warranty). Still waiting for the company to repair or replace my old screws pull! ???? This Venturi opener seems to be well made and sturdy, using steel unlike others with plastic parts on the market.
