If you like the cat, go for it.
Functionally, this opener is a little less effective than any basic bottle opener you'd get from the store. That's obviously not the selling point though. It does work, just adds a little bit of time occasionally. The trade-off is something that can sit out and that, hopefully, you'd like to look at. If you like the cat, go for it.

Cute neko bottle opener!
This lucky cat bottle opener is a cute and decorative. It's made well and makes opening bottles fun. It's not the easiest to use, but it does work. This would make a great gift for those who love cats!

Have to have it positioned just right
This neko cat bottle opener is extremely cute and unique. I have tried out many Genuine Fred products and they are always quirky and different than most brands. I tried this out and then gifted it to my friend who loves Japanese culture and also cats! It’s a really thick and sturdy plastic, it doesn’t have magnets or anything so it just had to sit on your counter or in a drawer. The bottle opener itself is spring loaded and honestly I kind of wish it was just the normal standard bottle opener. It took my several tries to get the bottle cap positioned inside just right to pop the cap off. It’s still a really cute bottle opener it just would’ve been a lot more convenient to have a standard metal bottle cap opener either inside or on the bottom. A great gift for a cat lover in your life

Cute bottle opener that only works half the time
A cute bottle opener that only works half the time and that's being generous. It looks really nice in my bar area though and my daughter who loves cats really likes it but unfortunately, it doesn't really do its main job well.

Maneki-neko - Good Luck Cat bottle opener.
According to the Wikipedia, "The maneki-neko (招き猫, lit. 'beckoning cat') is a common Japanese figurine which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. ... red is for good health." In the case of this "lucky Feline," the figurine also serves as a bottle opener. The Lucky Feline bottle opener is a nice addition to my bottle opener collection. The actual opener is a spring-loaded device on the bottom. It could work just as well with a simpler rigid opener. Otherwise, very cute.

More style than substance
I generally like Fred products. They're quirky, they're fun, and they invariably bring a smile to my face. This bottle opener falls a bit short, though. It's cute, to be sure, but it's not as functional as it should be. In theory, you should be able to press down, lift up, and there goes the cap. In practice, it takes a couple of tries, with significant jiggling, twisting, and pulling. I have other bottle openers that don't have the visual appeal that this one does, but they work quickly and consistently. While I'll keep this one around as a bit of decoration, it won't replace my other openers.

Cute but chintzy
I love Fred products for their quirky style. I hadn't previously encountered a Fred product that wasn't well-made, so this cat surprised me in that regard. It's made of cheap plastic that feels like it may break if you look at it sideways. Especially on the business end. The bottle cap remover part isn't standard; rather, it involves some kind of spring-loaded mechanism and moving parts. We had a spring literally fall out of the bottom on the second use. It still seems to function OK without it, so there must be some redundancy. But why make it so complicated in the first place? This bottle opener is cute. Like, really cute! Just as I would expect from any Fred product. And ours technically still functions...for now. Until that other spring pops out, probably. But I would not recommend this product.
