Looks good
This is more of a product description than a full review, since it was purchased for future use on a new bike. The freewheel looks very good. Metal is a coppery dark brown with some shine. It operates well. It was delivered nicely tightened and ready for installation. It fits a Park Tool FR-1.2 freewheel remover. The two largest sprockets have curved, open slots cut into their metal plates. Presumably this was for weight reduction and material savings compared to solid metal. The middle sprocket has some circular holes for the same reason. Teeth: 14T, 17T, 21T, 24T, 28T. The biggest sprocket is painted black. The sprockets align exactly with my current freewheel (Power Index System on a Huffy Superia mountain bike), which uses indexed shifting. I was lucky to get a perfect match. It should fit a bike frame with 120 mm rear dropout spacing. The review will be updated in a few years when my current freewheel wears out. I see no reason to expect problems. The unit appears to be precisely manufactured. I'm very pleased with the purchase and see no reason to doubt the product's quality. - - - November 2014 update: The Ventura freewheel is on the bike and working perfectly. It loudly clicked at first when coasting, but quieted down after some oiling and break-in rides. The screw-on cap has stayed very tight, unlike the bike's stock freewheel. This was my first experience in changing from one freewheel to another. The difference was amazing. I had much more power and the bike felt more solid after the change from worn to fresh, tall teeth. It's great to have 5 speed freewheels on the market. The Ventura product lets me use the mountain bike's middle chain ring 95% of the time. Climbing is easy. Sprinting with tailwinds is fantastic. I was pleased enough to order a second one. The Ventura brand has made very good impressions on me so far.

In this case, you get the quality you're paying for and a short life span.
I'm writing this after a year of moderate use on city streets. It beautifully replaced a vintage 10-speed bike of the early 70's without too much fuss. The quality seemed fair from the beginning and my only complaint was the slight wobble (runout) of both the gear teeth and where the hub/bearing meet. I wouldn't even say it was heavy use on my part, but 3 months ago after tuning it up in the spring, I noticed a rough sound when the freewheel system was engaged (pedaled backwards) and finally the engagement teeth completely broke apart causing a catastrophic failure and splitting the gear body and inner hub in two. Given the price, It wasn't a big loss, but in retrospect, I would have gladly spent another 10 bucks on something that I wouldn't have been replacing in a year. Going with a Shimano component this time which hopefully is more durable.

This is pretty much as advertised except for the picture on the listing. If you look closely you'll see that a 7-speed freewheel is shown, so I was worried that I would get that. Luckily 5-speed is what showed up, so all is good. I just wanted to post this review to let people know the description is right, not the picture. I put the freewheel on an old (early 70's) collegiate resto project I've been working on and it worked fine. Took 1 star away because of the picture.

I purchased this about 3 months ago because I was having terrible chain slips
I purchased this as a replacement freewheel for my schwinn OR2. I purchased this about 3 months ago because I was having terrible chain slips. I am not a cycling expert by any means, but I commute to work everyday. The ride is about 3 mile in very hilly terrain. To this point I have had zero problems out of this freewheel. It immediately fixed my chain slipping problem (I also replaced the chain). I currently live in Maine so the freewheel has been put through some tough weather and a lot of road salt and is stlll working like new.

The old freewheel/chain/chainrings were all skipping due to wear and age so I purchased this bad boy. After a few other upgrades
I have an old '75 Takara that I have fixed up in the past few months. The old freewheel/chain/chainrings were all skipping due to wear and age so I purchased this bad boy. After a few other upgrades I rode my bike to YNP which was a 150 mile roundtrip. I never had an issue with this freewheel and with 5 speed freewheels hard enough to find I recommend this bad boy. It has held up for about 8 months or so now and I have gotten about 250-300 miles out of it. Like I said I haven't had any issues with it.

Free wheel exploded after 15km...
Do not even considere buying this s****. The free wheel opened after 15km of use... Will never buy again this brand, I hope this is an exception.

Good Part
My freewheel rusted and broke so i had to replace. This one is a good replacement, you just need to be sure of the size you need etc.

Broke in a month!
The gear pack broke off of the free wheel core and internal ball bearings were lost. Extremely disappointed. Never had this issue before.
