Different Way To Make Ice Cubes
Icemaker broke in our fridge. So, instead of buying a replacement fridge for $2500 to $3000, we decided to "rough" it and make our own cubes to extend the life of our current 14 year old fridge which has already been repaired once. We long ago tossed out our old plastic type ice cube trays. I purchased this product after examining the options available on Amazon to round out an order to more than $25 to get free shipping. Wifey complained right away that this was too expensive and that I was "taken". As I tell her, see first two sentences of this review. First con is that it is somewhat expensive compared to the alternatives. Second con is that it seems to take longer (much longer) to freeze the water into cubes (probably due to the larger sectional density of the cube shape). At first, I broke a lot of water center cubes trying to squeeze them out too soon before they were frozen completely through. Third con is that each cube must be pushed out of the tray individually. They do push out easily as the tray remains very pliable and flexible even at sub freezing temperatures. I haven't tried a lubricant for the tray; I was going to experiment but the wifey is watching too closely. Pros: - cubes last much longer than the normal icemaker half moon cubes. Again, I assume it is due to greater sectional density. Icemaker cubes did not last through the first drink. I routinely get two cool drinks out of a set of cubes and sometimes a half of a third before the cubes melt away. This is a tremendous advantage with some drinks (single malt Scotch for instance) that you really do not want watered down. Also, I use a half glass of these hexagonal cubes instead of a full glass of the icemaker half moon shape cubes. - the heavier cubes don't slosh the drink when you are sipping like the icemaker half moon cubes do. An unexpected benefit. - since the cubes are dimensionally larger than the icemaker half moon style cubes, it doesn't take as many to fill the freezer bin. I estimate it would take me two to three "regular" plastic trays to make the equivalent amount of cubes as I make in the same time with this silicone tray. - because of the high quality of this tray, I suspect this will be a lifetime purchase. It is strong enough that, short of intentional abuse, I cannot see it ever tearing or not functioning. The material appears to be tough as nails and I cannot foresee normal usage damaging it or wearing it out ever! Sum: - I enjoy this tray and use it daily. I would purchase it again. - For some reason, it annoys my wife. She won't touch it and would never allow me to purchase another (without consequences). Yes, I have cojones; we run our household and kitchen as equals. Hence, the two star deduction wife induced rating deduction.

Not worth the money
It says "Large Cubes", but they are considerably smaller than the cubes I get from my normal ice tray. They also take much longer to free from the tray since they must be removed one or two at a time. My regular tray is fast and easy, one crack and they are all out. I consider this a learning experience to research a product more before buying a novelty.

Forget about those old plastic ice trays with broken ice for good!!
I got the Outset Silicone Hexagon Ice Cube Tray, Large Cubes and we love these for our tumblers! Perfect size, not to big and not too small. And the silicone is actually a good thickness so I dont see it getting any tears or holes any time soon. Also the ice comes out every time with a simple push on the back of the tray. I shall never again use those dumb plastic trays! The shape fits nicely in the tumbler. I only have to fill it twice a day with this ice, 4am for work, and 6 pm at home. That's awesome! Normal ice tray cubes I had to do anywhere from 4-5ish times. Might just be in my head. but oh well, they still work great :p lol!

Easy to pop out the ice, a bit tricky to clean but the ice cubes are cool shapes and look awesome in a glass

Good tray if you know what to expect.
Easier to get whole cubes from this tray than any of the plastic or metal trays I've ever used(dozens). Just don't expect to be able to twist and have the cubes fall out. I push each cube out from the back using my thumbs. It's not the quickest, but at least I get complete cubes instead of partial cubes and a bunch of fragments like I do with the plastic or metal ones. You do have to support it from underneath while they are filled with water because they are very flexible. That's no problem for me as my hand is large enough to support it. The hexagonal cubes are a novelty for visitors.

Love these ice cubes from this tray, fun to mix up the look of mixed drinks, use it everyday pretty much. The silicone is really nice for easy release.

Can't make enough of these ice cubes
I needed an ice cube tray and wanted to try these out. These are awesome and I love the ice cubes these make in the glass. They look awesome. The only rub is that the cubes are difficult to push out of the tray due to their shape. Most cubes have a rounded end that makes it easier to dislodge from the tray. These do not, but I have to say I don't even know if you could remove the ice cubes from a hard plastic tray. All in all the final ice cubes are so awesome I could care less about the tray issues.

Durable and geometric
I like that it is sturdy. I have bought similar products in the past and they were flimsy. The best thing is that it's a hexagon though, I love geometrics...and the colour is beautiful.

Ideal for cocktail making, very easy to use
Great size of cubes, well, not a cube, strictly they are hexagonal prisms, but an ideal size, large enough not to melt quickly, ideal when shaking a cocktail, so ridiculously easy to get out of the tray, plus doesn't take up too much room in the freezer, yet giving a lot of cibes. We have a lot of ice cube trays, and mostly silicone, but this is by far the best we have.

Best ice cube tray I've ever had
This ice cube tray is really awesome (and that's not something I expected to say about an ice cube tray, heh). Each of the cubes has a rounded bottom, which makes pushing it out really easy. The silicon is also pretty flexible which makes this even easier, but it seems tough enough that it I don't think it will give up any time soon - I've only had it for a few months so far but it's standing up perfectly. The hexagonal shape of the ice cubes is something that you could either like or dislike, but I like it. Because the 'cubes' aren't square, they fit more easily into a smaller glass. Highly recommended, I'm probably going to order another soon!
