Doesnt fit in air vents
I use it to cook my food and as a 20 year hvac. It gets to temp fast. Uei is the best brand for measuring temperature that ive ever had or used. I am not super sure about how it will handle if it gets wet because it doesnt mention waterproof. The biggest bane for these tools is when they get wet the go bad right away. I have gotten it a little wet though a couple times and it didnt hurt it at all. And i know the orange clear uei one was waterproof but lost it. This one folds. Doesnt fit in the air vents very well. Its better to measure the temp inside the air vent and not use the magnet and trust the temp outside as that reading is a false reading.

Great accurate temp pen.
The temp pen works Great and is well made. Just wish I could keep them for more than a few weeks. If anyone happens to see them hanging out of hvac duct work please send them back to me. I always forget them in customers ducts. ☹️

Best handy the for refrigeration
Love this tool. This is probably the 6th one I purchased since I tend to leave them under the honey combs in refrigerated display cases. Very accurate.

It tells the temperature
I like it but the default setting is F so if you work in C you can't just turn it on and have the display you want. Its a shame it doesn't remember the last setting it had when you turn it back on.

Happy with the purchase and definitely the best option compared to other brands I’ve seen
I’m on my eighth one of these since I usually end up forgetting them stuck up in a duct. This last order of two when they came out of the box one would not turn on at all. I was going to return it but first tried to give it a slight tap a few times and since then no issues and it turns on and works fine. Other than that one the other seven have worked perfect out of the box. It would be nice if there was backlight option you could tap and light up the screen for darker rooms since it’s just the usual grey led screen with black letters. But it’s not that hard to see or read either and if you shine a light towards it it’s easy enough to read from farther away. It would also be nice if the on off button was a sliding switch so that it wouldn’t turn on and waste battery in your pocket etc but that’s also a minor inconvenience. The flip in probe is great. Flips nicely and seems reasonably durable. The angle it flips from the flat back where the magnet is is perfect and much more convenient than the field piece, Klein etc models. Also the accuracy is pretty good. Between the different probes I’ve had it’s always within a degree or two, maybe three at most, and I’d expect that should be good for any average person. If you need something especially accurate that’s always within one degree you’ll probably be using higher end equipment anyway.

Takes way too long to stabilize reading
This is not only waste of money, but also waste of your time EVERY time you use this thing. It takes 30+ seconds to settle on the reading, while my kitchen thermometer shows it within a second or two, and that with the same accuracy. I needed something to measure near- or below-freezing temperatures, and was thinking maybe kitchen thermometer was not accurate enough in that range. I was, however, wrong: the kitchen thermometer I have is indeed accurate enough, and it takes far less time to lock on its reading. Another thing this thermometer is missing is to remember the Celsius/Fahrenheit selection after power-off. Its default is Fahrenheit, but... I need Celsius, so I have to select it every single time I use it.

Most used HVAC tool
I work in residential HVAC and use these daily. Truth be told, I'm on my third set of them...but only because on two occasions I have forgotten these in customers return/supply ducts haha. Always double check you have your tools lol. Honestly though, they work great and seem to be reliable and accurate. I highly recommend.
