Buying Another Today
This seems like a great little lantern. I wanted it for long term power outages. I tested this in my basement at night with no problems. I was able to navigate, find things in my filing cabinets and could even read the labels on my breaker box. It is stable and seems to pose much less of a fire risk than exposed pillar candles. I wish the base was made of metal instead of plastic. It’s well made but I always worry about plastic becoming brittle with age. This piece is critical as the candles screw into the base. The beeswax candles are expensive but I have a large supply of beeswax and plan on making my own. Overall, I am very pleased and am buying a second as we speak for redundancy purposes.

Love the look of this candle lantern
Love the way this lantern looks. The candles that come with it last a long time. I didn't time how long they lasted but it seemed like it was about 9 hours. You can place a fireplace fan on top of it so that the heat can be distributed around the room. You can also heat up water by placing a pan on top of the top platform which gets very hot. What I don't like about it is that the candle wax can leak out of the candle holder and it will require you to clean up the hard candle residue in order to install new candles.

This sweet candle holder/heater was the most lovely and comforting item on my last camping trip. I burned it constantly. If you camp, you know that most lighting is now those very cold looking LEDs since they use little power. However, they are creepy. So once night fell and I needed light, I’d turn on the creepy LEDs and then light up this lovely Candelier. It warmed everything right up; and doubled as a way to keep my coffee hot (it has a little platform on top that is heated by the 3 candles). I just love it. It will be going on all future trips.

Candles make the difference
Great product but only if you use the beeswax candles the paraffin candles are a pain to clean up they leave wax all over the bottom the beeswax candles don’t have that issue

Light and heat
My second UCO lantern as I also have a single. This obviously provides more light and illuminates all of the 5x8 travel trailer I use. Added feature is the heat it puts out on cold nights. Yes I use a CO/ fire monitor and crack the window a bit, and this lantern took the edge off a 29 degree night. Used three beeswax candles and they went a full 12 hours+. The tops and glass of these get hot, so be careful when handling.

Super in cool weather to provide safe heat and reduce condensation!
Using beeswax to emit 2.5 times the heat of parrafin candles in cool weather; citronella candles in mosquito infested areas; of plain jane parrafin for most occasions. This thing is super efficient; and I have never burned down a tent or camper van or died with having 3 candles burning inside. AMAZING reduction in condensation and AMAZING increase in temperature with beeswax candles in a Winter (fabric inner walls, not mesh) tent. I hate the sounds and safety issues of a petrol lanterns. These last forever-I have the single version of this one since the late 1980s and it still works perfectly! This is just as well made.

Lantern/heater
I needed something for heat while sleeping in the back of a suburban during a Colorado hunting season. I did not want to deal with fumes so gas heaters were not an option. I found that this lantern kept me comfortably warm when only using two candles while laying inside a sleeping bag. Temperatures were in in low 30s dropping down to the low teens at night. It basically will take the chill out of the air. If you are acclimated to Southern California climate you would probably freeze your ass off. Remember that this is a lantern and not a heater. I had always had a candle in my winter survival travel kit and figured I would give this product a try. My Heater; I placed my lantern inside a tall plastic Folgers coffee can which when finished makes the perfect storage case. I placed a sandwich bag with fish aquarium rocks roughly 3/8” tall bean bag in bottom of can so you can level lantern on an uneven surface. I than placed a 5.75” cast iron skillet over the top with a couple steel blocks roughly 1.625^2 inside pan to absorb the candle heat. Made for a soft nightlight and produced enough heat to keep me comfortable. However this will not heat the whole inside of a Suburban so I used a large bed spread and clamped it up by using clamps to the seatbelt holders and pinching it in the rear barn doors. You really need to cover up windows because all that glass acts like a chiller. The Bad; The wax from candles do leak down the sides of candle and at one time the candle did not push up to keep its seal and a lot of wax solidified around base of candle holder and actually had to light an extra candle to use as a tool to melt it free. For the most part worked well for me and am happy with how it performed.

Innovatively designed, highly functional candlelier candle lamp produces heat and light
I am impressed by the design, build quality and functionality of this UCO candlelier lantern which I bought for my camping trips. Build quality is superb with an aluminium outer, plastic base and metal candle sleeves which fit over the candles to contain the wax. At the base are further aluminium caps which ensure no wax leaks onto springs beneath which, mounted onto the base, push the candle up the sleeve as it burns to ensure all three candles burn at the same consistent height. The candlelier holds three candles which can be all of one type or a mix of the paraffin wax originals or any combination of these and beeswax or blue citronella candles. Just one or all three candles can be lit at once to provide light and some warmth depending on the light and heat level required. I'm using beeswax candles which produce a warm yellow cosy glow and emit a light honey scent, creating a very relaxed ambience after dark. In addition to light, the candlelier also produces some heat which is very noticeable in a small, confined space and can certainly reduce the chill on an overnight camp, although it will never compete with a heater. In a very unscientific test, I held a thermometer about 20cm over my candle lantern for 10 minutes just to gain an indication of the heat level above and in this short time it measured 28°C in a 17°C room. It won't create much noticeable heat in a room but is warm when sitting beside it. Replacement candles are not cheap but heat production rarely is, and they do have a long burn time of about 9-12 hours so they justify the cost. It will also boil a cup of water placed on the top warming plate in about 25 minutes. I also have the tealight version and would recommend both although this is better when size and weight are less critical while the tealight version is best suited to lightweight backpacking.

Metal casing/ Glass exposed/well made
The media could not be loaded. Well built , quality product- the first point to note is that the Glass casing does not retract into the metal casing so is exposed during storage- i would recommend the UCO neoprene case (sold separately). The lantern is designed for outdoor / emergency lighting and as it hold three candles is quite bulky so mainly suitable for when you have aadditioanl storage space and not travelling with just a personnel backpack/or light. The lantern has multiple benefits (see video): the main of which relate to independant candle holder so you can use 1-3 candles at once- added benefit of heat as well as light will keep any enclosed area (adequate ventalation required) a few degress above ambient. The hanger is of sufficient length to enable the lantern to be hung under canvas without any affect on the material-some heat is generated above the candle- teh lantern has been used in mutiple conditions (rain and light wind) and is stable and candles remain alight (8-9 hour been time). The UCO candles well and the automated spring mechanism keeps the candle raised as it burns (same mechanism thoughout all UCO lanterns). Added feature is that drink can be kept hot (metal cups / lightweight ie aluminium or titanium cups only). wide base so stable on flat ground and has a usefull hanger that clips underneath for storage. Easy to clean just immerse in hot water/soap can be used. UCO candles have low melting point. I use mine when i travel by vehicale for camping and fishing overnight expeditions. Not suitable when you are required to carry all supplies on your back due to size and weight. i use the single uco lantern for this. Update still going strong after multiple uses/ months of use. ideal for camping and fishing..UCO candles fit well and burn time is as described IE 8 hours..

Great product
Bought one a while back as a gift for a friend, but with blackouts in the UK now being a possibility this winter I decided to get one for myself. It is well built, candles have a long burn time and the UCO candle holder is fantastic, not sure that cooking on top is practicable, but if times get really tough then I guess I'll give it a go.
