Love these for vert
When I moved to vert( skateboarding) learning how to fall was tricky but with these, it made it much easier as you have a lot of top and bottom padding so these won’t move around on you. Other pads would move easily and can be uncomfortable when they start to pinch the skin behind your knee. Once I found these, I had the confidence to push myself more in the bowl. Now on my second set after years of use, I will never try to use another pad again

Constricts movement quite a bit
Im new to skateboarding and I'm a bigger older guy. I'm not sure I ordered the right size, but I don't think they honestly make them any bigger either. I've got super athletic (more like weight lifter) thighs and the top strap just barely fits around my legs. Below the knee has plenty of reach. I put these on with tapered jeans and to my surprise the material got bunched up behind the knee. This cut comfortable range of motion down to about 1/3-1/2 normal. I tried several times in differing positions, putting the pads on, and wound up with similar results each time. The pads are way too bulky to fit under pants so I didn't even try. (Maybe these would be more accommodating with shorts?) Despite the bunching issue, the sizing could be better. I know there's not a huge draw on designing gear for dads or moms/adults, but it would go a long way in establishing brand trust.

If you have meaty legs, choose your sizes carefully!
My legs aren't skinny, nor are they tree trunks, but it seems that these knee pads fall under the "Asian sizing" category perhaps. I measured the circumference of my knees at the middle of the kneecaps, both straight and while slightly bent, it came to 15.75" (40cm), so I ordered MEDIUM. (14.5"-16", according to both the manufacturer's sizing chart on their site, as well as the chart shown in the product images). Medium was entirely too small for my legs, but mainly because of my thighs. *My thighs, when measured approximately 4-fingers width (3") above the top of the kneecap is 18.5" in circumference. The majority of the pad's sizing would have fit just fine, if it weren't for the extremely short velcro flaps that connect behind your legs. The straps were "just about long enough", but the flaps... yeah, no. Without those flaps connecting behind my legs, I'd have to hold them in place with one hand while trying to do up the straps with the other. Although that isn't exactly the most challenging thing to do, it would likely cause these to become extremely uncomfortable as well as not stay in place as well as they should otherwise. Oh, yeah... I say that the straps were "just about long enough" because all this trying them on was done while wearing shorts. I fully intend to wear these over jeans or other such pants... while electric skateboarding. Although I probably should have ordered a size up, I don't think it would have mattered (for me) because my legs are those of an avid cyclist plus someone that's quite athletic to begin with. Based on other reviewer's comments from around the web, those with more muscular/meaty legs (like myself), going up a size wouldn't matter because those velcro flaps are simply not long enough to connect... the size of everything else would get larger, but the size of the flaps & straps doesn't, or doesn't increase in size as much as the rest of the pad's material does. Speaking of materials, and build quality... I would have to say that these ARE quite nice for the price, or even not for the price, just in general! The stitching was solid, the materials were fault-free, the plastic is thick enough to last a good amount of wipes, the padding is good enough to absorb some serious impacts, everything about these seem like they'd be excellent knee pads! To summarize: The ONLY problem I had with these knee pads is that their sizing is wonky and seemingly not intended for those with meatier/thicker legs. I'll be returning for a refund and trying a different brand, likely going to have to try several different brands & sizes to get the right ones that actually fit.

Great value for good pads
As someone getting into skating in their 40s, it's vital to pad up. We just don't heal like we use to. I rode 20inch street and rollerbladed in my teens and 20s so I'm use to the really thick overbuilt Protecs. While this one is not even close to the same thickness and protection, if you stay away from verts and big drops these knee pads are perfect. I've had a few spills already from pool riding and the KP22 have protected my knees well. They are much lower profile than the more hardcore pads, but are also much more comfortable to skate in. I also like the ability to put them on with your shoes on using the velcro flaps. - 1star for durability since these riveted pads are done once the rivets are grounded off from spills. It's time for a fresh clean set anyways. Update: one of the lower elastic straps fell off after a few weeks (10+ uses), pad still straps on w/ the large flap. The straps are too long for the size of the pad, could be a couple of inches shorter. Dropping 1 star.

Awesome pads!!
The media could not be loaded. They fit great! Been wanting to get a pair for awhile now. Figured I’d go with a decent price and I love wearing these. Not constricting at all. I can skate street and vert with these. Great purchase overall.

Largest of 3 name brand knee pads but...
The media could not be loaded. Bought 3 of the LARGEST knee pads I could find. Triple 8 KP sz XL 187 Killer Pads Fly Knee sz XL Protec Street sz XL I'm 6' tall with very muscular legs and calves. The Protec are laughably small, would only fit chicken legs. Killer 187s are probably for medium size legs. These would fit the average THIN adult male and no one even slightly muscular. The Triple Eight's fit me fairly well and are easy to put on. They're fairly comfortable and have 3/4" padding under straps above and beneath knee cap. They have 1" padding between knee cap and interior of the pad itself. Very substantial. Problem is that these came used, like VERY used. Someone hit the skate park with these and scuffed, damaged, and dented them heavily. Why in the world would anyone send these out again without inspection? Irritated that I need to order replacement and leaving for a trip in a few days. 2 stars for now due to receiving used pads, would increase rating to 5 stars if they get here on time for my trip this weekend. Would recommend ONLY if you're buying on advance and not on a time crunch as you don't know if you'll get new or used. If you're muscular or fat, try these out if you have time to inspect in case they need replacement.

Great for urban skating
I though that were going to be thicker but for urban skating is fine. I was used to the bigger ones for the aggressive skating so only perception here from my side. The product is great.

Great protection, bulky
I suppose you have to have a trade off. These are exceptionally well padded knee pads which give great protection in the event of a fall. I took a heavy tumble direct to my left knee recently and did not feel a thing. Excellent for those light falls/scrapes along the ground. An even hen getting up, such a relief to put a padded knee on tarmac rather than an unpadded knee! The trade off is they are quite bulky. Takes a bit of getting used to skating with the extra bulk, however they do not prevent you straightening your leg so once you have got used to them they do not impact your skating. Velcro fastenings mean you can take the off and put on without taking your show off. The lower strap is a little short and is unfortunately not flexible (the top one has some elasticine in it) but it still reaches. I find I get very hot with these on (sweaty knees!) but then there is a lot of padding so what do I expect? I'd recommend these for the price. Particularly if you are a beginner or into something extreme, the protection outweighs the bulk. Intermediate skaters not trying anything too tricky might want something with a bit less protection and bulk.

Bit disappointed but can be fixed with a hammer.
Require customisation: the junior pads fit perfectly for the sizing however the fixing is not secure enough on small legs and is more hassle than sliding on old school pads, so my daughter had to revert to using pads with a full back on them. The internal padding design protrudes rather than securely cupping around the knee and the plastic doesn't seem to slide, so bad for knee slides on vert. Update: The padding can be fixed with the aid of a hammer. After beating the inner middle padding (quite hard) into proper shape that actually cupped the knees they now fit securely without rolling off. Changed the shape of the padding from knee)(pad to knee))pad, and then waxing up the plastic caps also helped them slide better.
