Updated Review: It just works until it broke

Using the Sedona to dehydrate chicken feet for pet treats and glace flowers. It worked until it quit today with $200 worth of feet 24 hrs into trying. The contacts for the mechanical on/off switch failed. It's been in fairly regular use for 3.5 years and was out of warrantee. My husband was able to find the failed switch and rewire it. I have moved it to use for flowers that only take 20 hours instead of feet which need 60 because we have unsteady rural power. When there is a surge, it shuts off and neither restarts or remembers where it was. I am now using the Weston old fashion dehydrators in the barn for feet. If there is power, they work. When the power returns, they go back to working. The trays are also flexible in spacing. The Weston exactly accommodated 15 - 18 feet per tray depending on size. All 10 trays have to be in the dehydrator making it hard for larger three dimension flowers. 2019 Initial review. Received quickly. Dehydrated about 50 pounds of pears. Doing mushrooms and other things. Have used to proof bread as well.

After reading many reviews I determined this was the primo dehydrator. However, after using it, I feel it is a little pricey for what you get thus only 4 stars. It does hold a lot but I have found it does a better job if you use every other rack vs all 9 racks. I still have a hard time setting up the dual timer for fast and raw. I was a little disappointed in the instruction manual and the recipes that came with it. It is very large..too larger to set on the kitchen counter. I use mine set on my picnic table on the covered patio.

The Sedona has several great features but lacked in performance.

The digital display and settings were straightforward and easy to use. The unit itself looks nice and fit easily in my kitchen. As advertised, it was quiet when running and the dual time setting capability was very helpful. Also liked the ability to use just half of the machine when dehydrating smaller batches. The machine has several great features but in my opinion it just did not perform well. The Sedona worked well for foods that were already dryer by nature (Kale chips, nuts, etc.) When I attempted to dehydrate wetter items such as zucchini chips (cut thin with the mandoline) or crackers, the Sedona did not work well. After over 28 hours of dehydrating, the zucchini chips still were not done :(. Same experience with crackers - quadrupled the dehydrating time and still they did not get crispy. I even tried increasing the temperature a few degrees above the raw food recommendation ... but it did not help. I just couldn't get the chips to chip or the crackers to crack even when I added extended and excessive amounts of dehydrating time. Tribest has the right idea, the features are great and the unit is pretty but it needs to perform better. Thus, sadly, I had to return it.

amazing machine

1st dehydrator I've ever bought or used. I initially bought it because I thought it'd be neat to make my own dried fruit snacks and kale chips. The naturally dried snacks at my local organic store are so insanely expensive I figured it was time to make my own. Really easy to use and the customer service so helpful, now it is as big of a staple in my kitchen as my oven. In addition to my beloved kale chips and dried fruit snacks, I've found homemade jerky to be a favorite in my household. The most pleasant surprise is that this dehydrator can also crisp up your favorite nuts like cashews and almonds. All of these homemade snacks are soooo much healthier than the junk we used to buy. We are super stoked about this Tribest company and we look forward to perusing their catalogue for more ideas to help us live more healthy.

Too hard to set-doesn't heat properly.

I only had this unit for two days when I decided it had to be returned. It didn't work properly for dehydrating. This unit, at least the one that was shipped to me, didn't get up to temperature or heat properly. To set it is confusing and the unit has a very strong smell of plastic or something, when running. The temperature inside the unit in the middle rack doesn't match what the temperature is set at on the digital display. The machine is quality made materials but the racks are too thick for proper heated air distribution, I believe. It is nice to have a clear window but not needed and the light it comes with inside is only good for when you open the door which is just a tiny little light in the back, top, right of the unit. (Don't count on seeing much more than if it didn't have a light.) I returned the unit within 5 days of purchasing it but the 3rd party seller that I bought this item from has been very difficult to deal with in returning the unit for refund and charged me a 50% restocking fee and wanted me to allow him to put it on eBay as an auction listing to get any refund for it at all. I contacted Amazon and am still working through the problem.

LOVE my dehydrator. Looks great and works great!! Know there is a plastic coating where the button panel is as I thought mine arrived scratched. The seller did not return my 2 emails and I had to call Tribest directly.

Very disappointed in my Tribest Sedona purchase

My wife and I have used this machine less than a dozen times...now when we attempt to use it shuts off after 2-3 minutes. I have attempted to contact Tribest and the call is never answered and the recording says the mailbox is "full" and I can't leave a message. I've attempted to contact the operator and still NO ANSWER! With the positive ratings this machine received and the price, I would expect some sort of customer service. I have sent an email as well and again....no response. Very disappointed in my Tribest Sedona purchase.

Love the dehydrator!! Plastic though...could be a future issue

Love the new dehydrator!! Been making stuff since I found a place to put it in my kitchen, it's much more counter room than I expected so I had to relocate some small appliances, but it's got a home now. Didn't really know that the whole thing (well, most of it except the fan housing and the bottom door hinges) are made out of plastic including the side door hinges to open the front, a little worried about that breaking in the future. Love the open window on the door - it allows me to watch and make sure everything is dehydrating at a steady rate....or I just stare at the goodies I'm making :)

C'est faux de dire qu'il est garantie de 5 ans. Tribest annule la garantie, si ton achat est faite sur Amazon. Tu dois acheter l'objet sur leur site de Tribest. Se déshydrateur a fonctionner moins d'un mois. Maintenant le ventilateur du haut fait un bruit anormal. Le retour des commandes sur Amazon semble compliqué et coûteux. Je ne conseil à personne cet achat ou tout objet électronique.

excellent four déshydrateur

Cet appareil est de très bonne qualité et facile à opérer. J’apprécie la possibilité de n'utiliser que la moitié du four pour ne pas gaspiller d’énergie si on n'a pas de quoi remplir tous les plateaux. Il est plutôt silencieux (beaucoup moins de bruit que mon four normal). Les plateaux sont faciles à nettoyer. Ils n'absorbent pas les couleurs (comme le rouge de la betterave ou l'orange du curcuma) des aliments ou des marinades et restent impeccables. Je continue à tester les temps de séchage qui varient pas mal en fonction de l’épaisseur des aliments, mais en général je suis agréablement surprise par la rapidité de séchage, par rapport à d'autres modèles que j'avais considérés. Il est vrai qu’il est assez cher et que c’est un investissement substantiel, mais les avantages de ce déshydrateur sont tels qu’on l’utilisera de façon plus intensive qu’un autre moins performant. Bref, je suis ravie de mon achat et conseille cet appareil sans la moindre réserve.
