Work great
I added a BNC Male to UHF Female and connected it to my Uniden handheld CB. WOW works great. The first time I used it I was talking to someone who in Colorado. 2nd time California. I live in Oregon. you’re not supposed to be able to reach more than 5 miles with a handheld CB. Before adding it, I might have been able to reach a mile and a half at the most. So yeah WOW.

This antenna solved my high SWR problem
Awesome little antenna. Was pulling my hair out trying to find a short antenna that would get my system SWR down below 3.0. My mount location was the worse place you could possibly put an antenna: on top of a dump truck cab next to metal cab guard for the dump box. Horrible ground plane and lots of reflection. From the antenna I removed the magnetic mount and just used the antenna itself which is threaded to the base. As installed, the antenna load (black piece in the center of the antenna) rises above the top of the cab guard and the antenna worked (radiated) very clean. The antenna top shaft above the load is tunable by loosening a set screw and adjusting the antenna in/out in 1/4 inch increments. Antenna responded very well and incrementally to tuning. Was able to get SWR down to 1.4 which is amazing considering the antenna location. I'm thrilled! I'm saving the magnet mount for another project as its seems to be good quality as well.. The magnet is powerful and and has a plastic covering on the bottom. I'm very impressed with the TRAM name brand.

Instructions would have been nice
It would have been nice if this product came with basic instructions. There is a sturdy solid plastic or rubber cover super set onto the metal base component the antenna screws onto. This part is so solid it leads one to believe it belongs there and should not be removed and maybe this is actually the case. There are no instructions that I could find anywhere to explain how to screw the antenna onto the base when there's a seriously solid plastic or rubber cover on the base component the antenna screws onto. I decided to cut the plastic or rubber piece off after watching videos on YouTube that showed that part of antenna bases without a plastic or rubber cover. The cover was not easy to cut and peel off. I then screwed the antenna into place and it hasn't shorted out or anything else negative yet so I assume this was the correct thing to do... The seller really should keep in mind that today's market will include many people who have never owned or used a CB or any other similar device before. Many such people have limited time to research how to proceed to put things together and with the pandemic many do not go out much to seek advice from experts in their area.... Other than that the antenna is short, seems sturdy with a base that seems solid..

Pretty Good for the money
I had a much smaller antenna hooked up to my small uniden and my SWR was terrible. This antenna appears to be well constructed and it was easy to adjust the antenna. Naturally this does not compare to my 4' firestick or my 102" whip, but for the size and money, it seems to work pretty good. I was able to get the SWRs down to 1.8 in a few minutes. My first test was a car caravan where we were only separated by a mile. I look forward to testing it further.

Antenna design and compatibility with application
The antenna is excellent and meets my expectations. I am sure it will tweak and peak as needed as I have been working with antenna system for many years. I read that some people who purchased this antenna thought the antenna was defective because the magnetic base would not stick to car. Please note that newer cars have more of the body components made from composite materials, not steel, to reduce weight.. Please check your vehicle with any good magnet to determine the steel components locations. Many cars may have the trunk and hood made from fiberglass or plastic. My antennas will have to go on the roof which is the best the best location anyway. Please also be aware that these antennas are not plug and play. They will have to be tuned in order to work properly. If you are not familiar with this, please contact a local CB or Ham radio shop or 2-way radio shop for assistance. If you know a local Ham radio operator, they will have the knowledge and equipment to be able to help. Thanks

Great Portable Antenna
This is a nice antenna however I needed a longer whip. its 1/16" diameter and I fortunately had some TIG stainless welding rod that I cut 2" longer. The SWR read perfectly after that. There's nothing available to replace a whip in this diameter other that that. also there's steel balls on Amazon that can be ordered to replace the tip however do not buy 1/8", it is too small, 3/16" will work because it can be drill out to 1/16th and epoxied on. Other than that this transmits about 1 mile in a city setting with lots of trees and structures.
