Good Halter for the Price
I tried this halter out on a filly of mine, and so far, so good. It is good, tough material. But I would note to customers that it appears to have silver buckles in the picture, though when it arrived at my farm the buckles were bronze-ish.

Very small for my mini
I have a small mini- about 350#, but this is way too small. Must be for a younger mini or foal.

Sturdy.
Actually bought for a goat. It is going to work very well. You just can't control strong minded goats with a collar around the neck. Gotta have the head. This halter is well made. Should last a long time

Nice Halter, nose and throatlatch adjustability nice touch
Yes these run a little bit small but they ARE for minis and not ponies. They are about the same size as other mini halters I have and they fit nicely. I bought a large for my 34 inch minis, one with an average head and the other with a big sized head and these fit nicely. They probably would not fit a larger B size mini unless they had a very refined head. The nose and throatlatch sliding buckle is really handy and makes for an almost custom fit. Also, they are lightweight which is nice, many mini halters are too heavy and leave marks. My only complaint is that the buckle could be a bit larger/sturdier but that's not a deal breaker for me. Will buy again.

Cheap quality but fine for the price. Size up!!!!
Made from thin nylon and lightweight hardware and overall very cheapo feeling. Obviously a mini isn't as strong as a big horse, but I wouldn't ever consider putting a halter of this quality on a bigger horse/pony.... as it stands we'll see how they holds up with the minis. Be cautious using this with a rowdy mini or one that really fights/pulls, especially when tied. What everyone says about the sizing is true, I ordered 2 Larges and they are VERY SMALL, even for mini halters!!! If you have a large mini or one with a big head I would NOT recommend these halters. The noseband especially is quite small (even adjusted big as it goes) and probably wouldn't fit a mini with a big nose, or may prevent them opening their mouth. Unless I had a very small foal I wouldn't risk getting anything but the large, especially since you can adjust the halters smaller with the slip adjusters if needed. The noseband at its largest is about 20" around and the cheek pieces are about 4" long (trust me, that's smaller than it sounds). For now I'm giving it 4 stars because it's fair enough for less than $6.50 (I'd be upset if I paid more). And I do like that in addition to the normal crown strap it has 2 extra places to adjust it, slip-type adjustments under the jaw and throatlash. These might be great for getting a better fit, but they seem like they might slip under pressure (like pulling back) or just over time, and if something is gonna break it'll probably be these. The little grab-staps are a nice addition and a good length at about 8" long. They have a loop at one end that the rest of the lead slips through so it's easy to take them off without the need to cut anything. I'm taking them off for the minis but they'd be handy if needed and I might use them on another horse in the future, since they could go on any halter. Overall fine for the price but definitely on the low end of the quality spectrum. Probably fine for light normal use but I wouldn't trust it with a strong mini or a puller. Definitely order larger than you think you'll need! I'll update my review if needed after using them for a while.

Price Went Up on Basic Mini Halter
It was a decent halter for the price of $6.49 but it then went up to $11.99. Too much for the halter. It would be 5 stars, if the price had not gone up almost double. The large and medium need extra holes to fit a lot of the minis. We have to burn the extra holes into the strap, so it is not too loose. The small doesn't fit most babies. It fits a nitch for a basic mini halter once extra holes are added.

Great quality, especially for the price
I wasn't crazy about the way you adjust the nose... but it was cheap and for temporary while our donkey foal would fit it. Fast forward a couple months and somehow I decided it would be a good idea to get a weanling pony... that was the product of a Pony bronc. Yes, they exist. It was still a pain to adjust, but once done a nice fit. The lovely pony managed to catch the halter on a bu ket ( now removed) and panicked. She pulled part of the fence loose, yet was still stuck. Good thing she's little. The halter was no worse for wear. I noticed there had been some concern about quality and I'll tell you now, I'm very pleased. I had been worried about the adjustment type sice it was not a buckle, but no more. Now that I'm using it I appreciate the buckle free adjustment in the nose since I can adjust it to perfection. I am so pleased with the halter that I'm planning to get a couple more. One for our miniature donkey, and one for my husband's miniature horse foal.
