Accurate and good price
I bought four thermometers to try and find one that is accurate. The Veridian 08-300 was the best (and lowest price). It beeps when you turn it on, shows the last saved temp for about 2 sec, then goes out of memory mode so you can take a new temp. When reading is complete (60 sec), it beeps 10 times unless you press the button. Pressing the button turns it off, so if you want to stop the beeping, you will have to turn it on again and get the temp by reading the last saved memory. Alternately, you don't have to wait the full 60 seconds to get an accurate reading, so you can remove it before the 60 sec is up and it starts beeping. Pros: Accurate temp after about 30 sec. This does not have a bendable probe. The container to hold it is a one-piece hard sleeve rather than the two-piece cheap clear plastic holders most thermometers have. Beeps after 60 sec, so you can remove it sooner to avoid the beeping and still get an accurate reading. Cons: I wish the display were lighted (but at this price none are). Memory doesn't display very long.

Perfect! Does exactly what it's supposed to do.
So after like 3-4 weeks of my fiancé and I going back and forth with colds and fevers we decided to be adults and finally get a thermometer so instead of going, "hoooooney, I feel feverish!" we can now say thing a like, "OMG LOOK!!! I'M 112.7!!! GET THE EGGS AND I'LL MAKE ROOM ON MY FOREHEAD!!". All jokes aside - this is a digital thermometer that is super easy to use, is exactly as pictured, arrived promptly in 2 days, was well packaged and does exactly what it was designed to do. Perfect for adults and children alike. If you're in the market for an easy to use digital thermometer that's no frills and gets the job done then this is your guy...I mean, thermometer :).

From what I am seeing, not at all accurate. At least 2 degrees off.
Not so sure about this. Received it yesterday afternoon. I was burning up. Thermometer read 100.9, OK. Checked temp against an old Bebe digital which I have suspected for a long time as inaccurate, that read 99.9. Took some meds & went back to bed. Checked temp this morning, 96.8 ??? Checked with old Bebe, 96.1. Wife checked her temp. 96.6 ? I think not... Pretty sure this is off by a couple degrees. I'll check it against my doc on my next appointment in June and report back. If it is accurate I will add stars. If not I will deduct. Next, the 60 second read is not accurate either. My reads have varied from 93 seconds to more than 150 seconds at which point just gave up and started over. Just checked again because I feel my temp rising. First check finished, beeped after 20 seconds, 96. Second check took 128 seconds but returned 97.6 ??? Still obviously under, by a couple degrees.

Gets The Job Done
This thermometer came just before I got sick. I was able to keep track of my fever, helping me decide when to go to the doctor's. This thermometer seems to be accurate and gave the same reading when I used it 3 times in quick succession. The one problem I have noticed is that the beeping is not very loud. I'm middle-aged; it might be more audible to younger people. The display isn't very big & isn't lit, which might be a problem for some. Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase, especially for the low price. Would definitely recommend.

I works well for a cheap thermometer when you're in a pinch. I got this for my husband and myself to use, and probably would only recommend it for adults vs kids since you do have to hold it in your mouth for quite a while to get a reading. I don't imagine this would be an easy feat with a squirmy toddler or fussy infant! Overall, it works well but I feel the uses are pretty limited to adults or older kids. I like that it comes with a set of hygienic liners for the thermometer though - very handy to not have to buy them separately at the get go.

Doesn't work-will not "beep" per instructions set.
box came unsealed with thermometer out of a usual sealed plastic bag inside the box (have bought these before), meaning this thermometer could have been used by others. This seems confirmed also by the fact that it does not BEEP as per the instructions states it will (see under "Oral Use" No. 4 (quote) "When the reading is complete...if the reading is below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.7 C) the unit will sound ten long beeps,, if it is above 100 degrees...the unit will sound ten sets of 3 short beeps." This unit makes NO Beeping sounds at all. I conclude therefore it has been used by unknown persons and then placed back in it' box and/or the battery is completely dead and should have been replaced by seller before selling it. Refund or replacement thermometer requested please.

Works well enough, probably best for adults and not kids
Works as intended, I can see some people getting annoyed having to wait 60 seconds for the results but it isn't too bad. I wouldn't recommend it for kids, I could see them getting frigidity
