Comes in handy.
Dr.Talbots is a trusted name and so ibgot this thermometer. It's easy to use and came ready to use with battery included. It comes in a protective plastic case which is great especially for keeping it contamination free. I did have some issues with the thermometer itself. It's hard to turn on and the beeps to support the different functions either don't always work or are on very low volume. The reading times also takes a little longer than the instructions say. I have no issues with reading the results on the little screen but I do hate that it disappears so very quickly. Overall it's ok, it's still important to have a thermometer in the home.

Accurate digital thermometer but the on/off button is difficult to push.
Dr. Talbot's Flex Tip Digital Thermometer with Protective Case We’ve been using the same small digital thermometer for more than a decade. I was able to order a fancy infrared forehead thermometer a few months ago, and while it works just fine, it’s not as easy to use or as convenient due to its bulk, so I found myself still reaching for the old digital one. I ordered this so we would have an extra small one because their size does make them easier to misplace. This thermometer works perfectly; the temperature has exactly matched our old one on several readings. We’re using the default Fahrenheit readout, but it can be easily changed to Celsius. It takes closer to twenty seconds to get an oral temperature (versus the stated ten). Once turned on the thermometer displays the last temp taken with an “m” (memory). The only thing I don’t like about this thermometer is that the “on/off” button is much harder to push than our old one. On this one you have to STRONGLY push the end of thermometer down (follow the arrow). I find myself holding the bottom of the thermometer with my left hand as I push hard on the top with my right. This could be an issue for some people. I had no problem hearing the subtle beeps. The clear thermometer container is helpful. The tip is flexible. The battery is replaceable, and the instructions (clearly written in a small font) state it should last 1 year or 1200 uses. Made in China.

Accurate & High Quality
I'm a self-professed thermometer hoarder. I'm always looking for a new one that's faster or more accurate. As you can see from my photo, I have a small collection going of oral thermometers. Dr. Talbot's thermometer has a slightly flexible tip, and is a little longer than the other ones I own. This is the only thermometer I've owned that the on/off button is on the end of the device. I personally find it a little difficult to turn on and off, as opposed to the usual placement as seen on my other thermometers. I stuck this thermometer in my mouth with the other two and found Dr. Talbot's thermometer to be accurate to my former old faithful one. I will say that it took closer to 30 seconds to get the final reading, which isn't as fast as my fastest (but not as accurate thermometer) or as slow as my slowest (most accurate thermometer). I've only used it orally and only intend to use it orally. Other than the weird button placement, I really like this thermometer. So much so, that I threw my other ones away. I like that they included instructions on how to change the battery when the time comes. Thumbs up!

Easy to read, but hard to hear the sound
This thermometer seems to be somewhat consistent in the temperature it gave me, give or take .2 degrees. The numbers are easy to read, so that's good. The end of it is flexible, and that's a positive as well. The cons are that the beeping sound is barely audible to me, so I had difficulty being able to tell when it was finished. What I ended up doing is using the timer on my phone and taking it out of my mouth after 22 seconds, giving it an extra 5 seconds from what the ad listing says it should take of 20 seconds. It is spot on in that when I took it out at 22 seconds, the number was blinking, indicating it was finished. When I put it up to my ear at that point, I was able to hear a faint beeping sound, which confirmed it was finished getting my reading. The only other thing that's a negative are the instructions. They are typed in miniscule size letters. They are so small, that I literally had to get a magnifying glass to be able to read what it said. I don't think the photo I attached is a proper portrayal of the teeny size of the font, because I actually wanted you to be able to read the instructions.

Reliable & Accurate
I find this Dr. Talbot’s digital thermometer to be accurate, which is the most important quality a thermometer should have. The battery comes pre-installed, without any pull tab. To turn the unit on, you need to push the end. It’s a similar motion to that of a retractable tip pen, however, it’s difficult to push and does not go down nearly as far as a pen. The tip is flexible and comfortable, although it really does not hold its shape. I like the carrying case and the folded instruction sheet, aside from the tiny print. The display automatically shuts off after 8 minutes and is not backlit. Overall, it’s a reliable and accurate thermometer.

It works, but needs improvement
While this thermometer works fine, it has a few problems. It has a flexible tip, which could be helpful. A plastic case is also included. The thermometer is difficult to turn on. It takes two hands and a good deal of force to turn on. Takes a few seconds for it to fully start and get ready for temperature readings. The thermometer is supposed to beep when it’s ready to measure and also beep when the reading is complete. Sometimes the beeps work, sometimes they don’t. At times I’ve had to take multiple readings to get a beep. The manufacturer claims that oral measurements can be taken in 20 seconds. I have not found that to be the case. It usually takes 30-35 seconds for an oral reading. The display is small and can be difficult to read. There’s no backlight on the display, so you must have good light to read it. The difficult-to-read display has been my greatest frustration. The battery is replaceable, which is a nice feature. It uses a AG3 button cell battery, which is supposed to last 1200 uses or one year. This is a basic thermometer, fine for occasional usage. It could use some improvements on the items listed above.
