Drains batteries when in off and stored
In principle, I like this instrument. I have two other instruments from Extech and they are fine. However, this one drains the batteries when switched off, so every single time I want to use it, I have to put new batteries in; even if new batteries have been put in the previous day.

Unaccurate readings
After multiple test agains multiple tachs, this one (I'm guessing because the laser reads an alumium flap instead of a mechanical read) it ALWAYS read less speed than the acutal speed. Not function related but the wheel is smaller than other tachs in the market, personally I find the bigger wheels more comfortable to use.

Good Tool
I have some home made skid mount vacuum pumps with 20 hp Kohler motors hooked up to run the pumps. I use the RPM option to set the throttle at optimum RPM for the pump. This tool is perfect for stuff like that.

Combination temperature and RPM tool.
The RPM 10 works good, but I'm having trouble with the non contact rpm. Trying to learn how to get accurate readings.

Worked great out of the carton
Worked great out of the carton. Very early yet but impressed so far and good product for the money. My only critique - storage pouch very poor as really not enough room for everything - I found another larger container to carry it in.
