Not spill free!

I have no idea if other reviewers are overlooking this or it's just happening to me but these bottle pourer spouts are not spill free when using them for oils! One of the only reason I am not giving this two stars is due to it being one of the only bottle pourers I am able to find with a flip top on it. I would think that I would have a lot to choose from but obviously I'm wrong. It does fit pretty nicely in the bottles I'm using, which are just plain ol' beer bottles. Again, the only issue I have and this is a big one, is due to it not being spill free. I am using one bottle for regular olive oil and the other for extra virgin olive oil. Correct me if I'm wrong but when pouring olive oil from a bottle, I like to pour slowly to control the flow. The other thing I forgot to mention about these pourers is that it pours very fast. Therefore, you must go very slowly if you want a "drizzle" of oil. The problem with doing this is that by going slowly, I always manage to get one drop of oil going down the pourer afterwards. Some might say this is not a big deal but I definitely wanted it to be spill free. Now I have to wipe it after every use even if it is one drip. This did not happen when I first tested this out by pouring out water or club soda. This could either be the difference in liquid substance or the fact that I was pouring very fast. Either way, it doesn't matter because I bought this to pour oil and I need to pour it out slowly each and every time. If anyone knows of a similar product such as this one, please let me know!

Plastic, but better....

I had a metal one I was using before but I like this one better! The oil flows smoothly, no leaks and that flip cover seems to return to place more readily than with the metal one I had. Use it daily. Perfect.

Love these guys!

I have many varieties of oils in my cupboard and these stoppers have proven to be the best things ever for speed and convenience. The little flip cap on the top eliminates chasing a removable cap around -- it seems I ALWAYS drop those and they transport into another dimension somehow, forever lost (probably under the stove). I even use these hinged flip-top stoppers in soy sauce, frequently-used vinegars, and other sauce bottles I keep in the refrigerator. So quick to grab and pour, no messing with caps. Some friends adore a particular scotch that comes in a very nice bottle, so they're on alert to save those bottles for me. I put fresh veg oil in one and used veg oil (finely strained then run through a coffee filter) in another. That way, if I'm frying up something in a pan, the used oil goes in. Salads and other applications get the fresh oil. It's easy to tell which is which because the used oil is a little darker, though I guess one could label them to know for sure. One reviewer mentioned that vinegars pour too fast from these pourers. I have two suggestions. 1) Push a toothpick in the vent tube of the stopper. That way, there's no air return and the liquid flows much slower. 2) Turn the bottle so the tube is curving up a instead of down. Easier to control. I will be buying more of these stoppers. Love them!

Pours well. Ok with oil but rust with soy sauce

Too small to fit in the big Bertolli olive oil bottle. It does however fit most regular bottles similar to wine bottles, and fits my new Bormioli Rocco fiesole bottle well. I read from some other reviews that removing the pourer can be quite tricky. So I left one notch out and didn't push the plastic all the way in at first, tested by pouring out some oil and it didn't leak. The flip top metal feels cheap though. Pour rate as many stated is rather fast but I've no problem with that. Occasionally there will be a tiny bit of oil left on the outside after pouring but it's rare and so little it seldom drips down to the base and I can wipe away with a towel. Update: After many months of use the one used for pouring oil is doing fine. But the one I've used to pour soy sauce is turning rusty both in and outside. So beware - don't use with soy sauce or probably anything with water content!

Fits well in BORMIOLI & COLAVITA olive oil bottles

These are NOT made of rubber as stated in the product description, but are a hard plastic. However, I use them in 2 different Bormioli bottles & an original Colavita olive oil bottle & I have had no problem with them leaking from the gasket in the bottle, or dripping from the spout. The original pour from the Colavita oil was a wee too much & these help minimize the flow.

Work well for olive oil :-)

This is my second set of these. I had ordered an olive oil drizzler set which was very poor quality, but they were the only set that came with caps. After 2 months, the spout came apart rendering them unusable. The bottles and stand were still OK, but the drizzler part of them, which is what I bought them for, was totalled. So, instead of chucking them, I searched online and found these. They have metal caps that open and close automatically when you tip them. They seem very sturdy and would fit most, if not all, bottles. I know they fit these little drizzler bottles. So, I ordered a set for my brother for x-mas as he often cooks with olive oil and vinegars and this would make his life a LOT easier. You can't beat them for the price. Now, if they break anytime soon, I will update this, but so far, they are wonderful! You could get a beautiful wine or liquor bottle or 2, and use that with these pourers, which would look really nice, instead of wasting money on a drizzler set like I did. I'm sure these would work well for liquor also, that's not what I bought them for, but who knows, may get another set for that at some point. The price is right :-)

Good quality materials

Good quality materials, they fit tightly but are easy to remove if needed. The downside is that they pour very quickly compared to other pourers I have used, but that just means you have to be a bit careful and get used to them.

Work great in a beer bottle

These do not fit into my Olive bottles but fit perfect into a beer bottle and as such I pour the Olive Oil into an empty beer bottle and all is good..

Decent pourers. Quality is not the best but they work well enough. I would say they are pretty pricey at $4.50 each though.
