Used for my Cintiq, works GREAT!
I bought this adapter to convert the DVI-D cable that came with my Cintiq to HDMI so I could use it with my new computer. It shipped SO fast and works perfect!

Working well for me!
I liked (as mentioned in the product listing) the fact that there is a bit of slack between where it connects to the monitor and the cable since it does allow the cable to be more flexible overall. I haven't had any problems with it yet. It works with my mac mini and a really old pc running both windows and linux (dual boot). The PC looks a little grainy on my UHD monitor but that is just because it is too old and has nothing to do with this product. It is working well!

Works as advertised
I wanted to continue to use my perfectly good 21" Apple Cinema display with my new M1 Mac Mini so I needed a way to convert the signal from the Mini to the DVI connector on the display. This cable is working just fine between the HDMI port of the Mini and the DVI connector from the display. Very happy with this simple and cost-effective solution.

Works as Designed
I used it to convert my DVI-D (single link, male plug) monitor connection to an HDMI connection for my new graphics card. It worked perfectly.

Exactly what I needed
Perfect device used to connect my older Wacom Cintiq with a DVI connector to my new M1 MacBook Pro. I thought I was going to have to buy an expensive hub but this did the trick since the MB has a built in HDMI port. Works great plus the customer service was excellent when I called to speak with a StarTech rep about my situation. He actually steered me away from MUCH more expensive options to instead buy this simple device.

Quality adapter built and works well
Previously I bought some lower cost adapters from chinese sellers (and to be fair, I think this StarTech adapter is also made in China) that were a single block connector with DVI on one side and HDMI on the other. For me, a heavy HDMI cable coming out of this type of adapter puts too much strain on the video card connector and would eventually lead to failure. The combination of stiff cable + adapter sticking out of the video card acts like a lever for anything that bumps into it or if the cable is accidentally pulled on. I also found those adapters to be a poor fit to the HDMI cables- they were very tight and a lot of pressure needed to be exerted to insert the cable into the adapter. By contrast the StarTech adapter with it's short flexible cable puts any strain much closer to the video card and removes the leveraging effect of the other type of adapter. Because it has a short cable, if the HDMI cable plugged into it gets snagged or tugged from the side, it's much more likely to pull free from the adapter, instead of snapping the connector off the video card. This adapter was more expensive than the first kind I got from a chinese seller, but it's much better built, the connectors fit better, and it's a lot cheaper than replacing a video card because it's connector got snapped off. All things considered, a very good buy.

Brilliant product
Great for converting the DVI-D monitor cable to an HDMI input to a compatible monitor. No drop in picture quality. Ideal for MAC or PC. I have read that there is extreme bandwidth reduction, well I am using a 4k display and I am getting full resolution. Folks remember there are a few types of DVI connections. see images please check you connection before you buy DVI-D ( this one )

Works fine the other way, too.
Bought this to connect an older monitor (which was DVI-D only) to a modern graphics card which only had HDMI (and displayport) out. I was a bit apprehensive as I've bought cheap adapters in the past which somehow managed to screw the signal and introduce underscan which shouldn't really be possible with a digital connection. Either way, this works perfectly and transparently, at least at the limited 1280x1024 / 60Hz resolution of this monitor.

It Works
Bought to replace an existing adapter which wobbled and lost connection when my docking station was moved. This item solved that problem. Adapter gives a cooler colour than old adapter and not been able to match the whites on the two monitors I'm using. It's not a big problem for me, just a minor annoyance at first. This adapter has however solved the much bigger annoyance of intermittent picture on second monitor.

Needed to plug an Apple Cinema Display into a Mac Mini computer. This cable plugs into to the HDMI port on the Mac and the DVI cable from the power brick of the Cinema Display plugs into the DVI end of the adapter. Job done. Good, sturdy cable adapter with secure fittings at a very reasonable price. Happy bunny, me
