It works!
So I wanted to add my tv as a 3rd monitor for gaming on a larger screen and also allowing me to monitor my stream and chat on my two other smaller screens as I stream to youtube. I was afraid that it would only work in the way that the dvi would be the OUT of the cord as all the videos only displayed this, BUT I was able to successfully plug the dvi in to my graphics card and hdmi in to the tv and receive the picture. Happy!

Basic, solid cable.
As the title suggests, this is "basic." But, it doesn't need to be more than that. It seems well-constructed, with no obvious vulnerabilities. The contact points are gold-plated and the setscrews on the DVI side work smoothly. Overall, a decent cable and I would buy again.

Cheap effective solution.
I bought two of these to connect some Win10 boxes to high quality legacy monitors that predated HDMI. They simply worked. No weird video artifacts. No driver issues.

works perfect
needed to connect a little older monitor (without an HDMI port) to my new laptop. Had the same cord in a 3' version, but needed more length for the monitor configuration i needed. This was perfect. Plugged it in, didn't immediately recognize the monitor, so restarted my computer, and it worked perfectly! Amazon basics brand for the win!

Not the 4k@60Hz stated in the product description
I bought this cable to maximise the display resolution between a PC with a DVI-D Dual link connection and a 4k monitor. The cable's product description states 'The AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI adapter cable meets the latest HDMI standard, which means it considerably expands bandwidth up to 18 Gbps, offers 4K@50/60 (2160p) video resolution (four times more clarity than 1080p/60)'. However the best resolution I can obtain is 1080p@60Hz. After spending quite a bit of time investigating why I couldn't get better I established that the maximum resolution it was possible to get out of a DVI-D connection at 60Hz is 2560×1600. On top of that it seems that if a DVI-D connector is converted to HDMI at the other end then resolution is typically limited to 1080p@60Hz. The only way round this is to use an Active adapter, of which there are very few around. The upshot is that Amazon's item description is incorrect, misleading and the stated performance is impossible to achieve with this product, even if the kit on either end of the cable is capable of it. However, if you just want a good 1080p@60 DVI to HDMI cable this is a decent enough product.

works both ways
Normal Amazon Basics quality (top tier that is ) but what i wanted to report is that this will successfully work FROM DVI TO HDMI not just the other way around. Hope this helps

Detailed techical review. This is DVI to HDMI & Vice Versa. Also supports audio via DVI.
This is a review for pro users. I have previously brought amazon basics cable and that is why i went with this one for quality. However my requirement is reverse. I needed a DVI to HDMI instead of what this cable does. Thing is, This is a PASSIVE CABLE, which means there is no circuit involved in conversion of signals. AND IT WORKED AS EXPECTED. It converts "HDMI to DVI" & "DVI to HDMI" too. IT ALSO SUPPORTS AUDIO TOO !!!! I am using it with my Nvidia graphic card to a TV and the DVI output from Nvidia gives audio via DVI and the HDMI plugged into the TV receives both HDMI video & Audio.

Doesn't support 2k let alone 4k (max 1920 x 1080 only)
Bought this to hook a laptop to a monitor that supports 2560 x 1440 via straight HDMI cable but it only shows 1920 x 1080 as max resolution with this cable (HDMI on laptop / DVI on monitor). This is the same use as in the product description (see the laptop image) and sad that it says 4k in description but only FullHD looks to be supported. I share this monitor with another desktop and it has only 1 HDMI port so wanted to use DVI port but this cable does not meet my requirement. I am going to use it for another purpose or maybe return it as it doesn't meet the spec advertised...

Un normale cavo Single Link (1920x1200 @ 60 Hz) venduto come 4k
Appare di fattura decorosa, ma non supporta risoluzioni superiori a 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz, cioe' e' un cavo Single Link, nonostante il connettore dal lato DVI abbia i pin per il Dual Link. NON supporta quindi 2560x1440 (WQHD) @ 60 Hz, tanto meno 3840x2160 (UHD) @ 30 Hz. Il prodotto inoltre pubblicizza il supporto per 3180x2140 (UHD) @ 60 Hz, il che e' fisicamente impossibile: per fornire la larghezza di banda, sarebbero necessari due connettori DVI Dual Link, mentre questo ha un solo connettore Single Link. La valutazione riflette la discrepanza tra caratteristiche dichiarate e realta'.
