Easy to install. Works great.

Read the instructions
Before getting frustrated with this bracket, read the instructions. It's not totally intuitive how this bracket gets mounted. Honestly I think that Kryptonite could come up with a much better design. Nothing about this is easy. And even at the highest tension there is still a little bit of play in how snug the strap is.

Inconsistent Manufacturing - hassle to fix.
I haven't left an amazon review in well over several years even though I buy a lot from here. I bought this lock out of a friend's suggestion and he helped me install it. Overall, this review comes from ~2 months of dealing with this thing and the frustrations that came from it. First, the shackle for mine (16mm?) did not fit immediately over the end of the U-bolt. Looking into the geometry, the shackle was nowhere near circular and had to be filed down. I physically had to sand it + the U-bolt for several minutes and then use a lubricant to get it to finally slide over to its resting place. First issue solved. Then another part variation held me up but I dealt with it for a few weeks. The shackle would then not slide easily into the plastic lock/strap system. It wouldn't click into place unless you used considerable force. This alone kept loosening the overall strap and scuffing my frame. Boo. I left this alone for several weeks. It was fine until just ordinary riding would pop the U-bolt out of place over rougher roads. Imagine dropping your f****** lock on a busy shared road in downtown Seattle? Yeah, no. I again sat down, this time for about 2 hrs, sanding and filing certain edges in the hopes that I'd finally found the interfering sections that prevented it from locking easily, securely, and reliably. It finally locks into place using a firm pull as opposed to how I got it straight out of the packaging. It now works great and as intended. I am now very content... after several hours of fixing it and the harrowing adventures of stopping in busy streets to not get run over. Hopefully nobody else has had this issue and I got a crappy one from the lot, but buyer beware I suppose. update: nope, never mind. I still hate this. Will buy different item.

Came apart after a few bumps
Followed the instructions. Had a snug fit and tight screw before I left. It worked fine and stayed put for the 15 minute ride to my destination but I hit a couple potholes and a bumpy construction zone in the dark on the way back and the whole thing slid down and almost caused a wreck. Nothing else on my bike that actually has proper mounting even budged. One small screw is the only thing holding the heavy lock to the post and it shouldn’t have to be tightened before every short ride.

Nice bracket for a Kryptonite U-Lock
I bought this bracket setup since the original would not fit on today's larger frame tubes. This bracket is pretty versatile due to its universal mounting system which allows it to be mounted in several locations on the frame. Seat stem, top tube, down tube, are all reasonable spots to consider depending on your riding position and bike frame compatibility. I chose the seat stem just below the top tube. The mount itself is easy to install with the padded strap/buckle and the allen 4mm hex nut which attaches the swivel/rotating locking mechanism. I rotated mine enough so the u-lock would angle in the same orientation as the seat stays. The system comes with two different sized collars that lock into the mount. They both fit my larger u-lock. With the smaller collar you would have to trim off the rubberized plastic protecting cover where the larger one fits over the top of the protective covering but it does move around a bit even when really tight. I rotated mine just enough to tuck the top under the seat so my leg would not brush against it. I would recommend if you really like the mounting position to use some loctite blue on the hex nut for the mount and on the set screw on the locking collar so they don't come loose which is what I did. The kit also comes with a hex wrench, however I used a longer one for a bit more leverage. Just for interest I would like to see images of the failed attempts to install this on a bike to try to determine why. Overall very nice and it works well and as intended. As far as durability I am not sure but in 6 months I will post something if I change my opinion.

It’s not easy to install without reading the directions CORRECTLY
Now I understand why so many bad reviews about not fitting or installing correctly because I do have to admit I attempted to install without reading the directions and that was a failure. My first instinct was to be upset and return it.. but after reading the install directions a few times to fully understand the mounting system, I correctly installed it and I’ve now used it so many times without any mishaps. Although the installation really does require you to fully understand the install instructions the installation of it was a little tricky but once installed correctly it is definitely worth every penny!! I love it!!

Clearing up mixed reviews
Seen a lot of mixed reviews before buying. Just set mine up and am going to try clear things up. - This bike lock bracket/holder comes with 2 “clasps”, one small, one big, each can be tightened using the provided Allen key. Meaning there should be no problem with U lock/D lock capability - The holder/bracket for your bike is again adjustable, and can be tightened using the Allen key, it doesn’t rattle but isn’t “rock solid” as you might hope. Does the job - There is very little instructions provided, so takes a bit of time to figure out. - The mechanism to remove and put the lock back is a standard “clip in”, no qualms so far. Hope this helps you all trying to make a decision. Does it work? Yes. Will it fit your bike and lock? Unless yours is ginormous, Yes. Is it what I expect for Kryptonite? Slightly subpar but does the job ????

Didn’t fit
Fit my orange kryptonite lock but not gold New York one which it was ordered for. Disappointing as the website said it should fit. It works well for the one that does fit although a little rattle-y when riding.

Only works for one to two months! DO NOT BUY
I have been meaning to write a review on this product for so long that I actually forgot to do so. This product has massive flaws in its design. Firstly once fitted it will after some time, begin to pivot around the point it is mounted to because the strap used to secure it to the fame loosens allowing the lock to swing out since the strap isn't strong enough and doesn't have enough grip to keep the lock attached to it from swinging out. Secondly, the holder REQUIRES you to cut a piece of rubber to attach it to your bike, preventing you from using it elsewhere.

Exactly what I needed
This product was ideal for me. My lock was an old Kryptonite one that I bought about 15 years ago so I had to remove the existing fitting from my lock and replace it with one that arrived with the bracket kit. It's not an exact fit but I didn't expect it to be and it works well so I'm happy

I got there in the end
I needed a cheap solution to hold my old u-lock on the frame of the bike, since I didn't want to spend more than £50 on a foldable one with similar anti-theft quality. It took some DIY and imagination as you can see, but I got there in the end: - I had to cut off the rubber protection of the lock in order for it to fit on the larger of the 2 fittings. - by doing that, the fitting was a bit loose and it would swing with the pedalling, so I bought a cheap velcro holder on Decathlon (£2) and use it to hold everything tight. Sorted. Now I only have to wait for the old London tradition of seeing my bike stolen with malice and easiness and just give up and start walking everywhere (I hate public transportation).
