Next best thing to a Full Cleaning.
Amazing, eco-friendly, no-fuss, solvent-free alternative to cleaning the gun at the range. If you are lazy about doing the full cleanings every time you shoot your shotty like me, then this is the product for you. It's cheaper than a Bore SnakeBoresnake Boresnake Bore Cleaner 12Ga Shotgun Clam Pack , but seems to the trick. It's small too, so it can fit in the gun case or shell pouch without issue and is ready for you as soon as you finish. All this without the need for solvents. Why only 4 stars? You have to do the cleaning AS SOON as you are finished shooting and the barrel is still warm to get the best results in the solvent free scenario. If you shot the gun and the fouling has had time to harden, it's not going to easily come off with the simple mechanical action of this cleaning tool. I saw that first hand as I tried to use it to pre-clean my still dirty 12 gauge before the range session. I think chemicals would have been needed to get the best results on a cold barrel. Still, when the gun was still warm (~hot) at the end of the range session, one pass with the brush swab and one pass of the rope swab and you are done for the barrel. Clean and shiny. You will still need to do a more traditional cleaning on the receiver or trigger group if they are very dirty, but that's not something you need to do all too often with a pump action 12 gauge. Overall, I am satisfied, especially considering the time and potentially harmful chemical mess this saves me. Get this, you will be happy you did. Oh, do remember to lightly oil the barrel when you put it away for longer storage just in case the rope pulls that thin, protective layer off the inside of the barrel.

Not a 2 pass cleaner
This is advertised as the Knockout 2 Pass System, which has a separate brush. The item I received is a single pass with the brush built in to the cleaning rope. I do NOT want a built in brush that is why I ordered the 2 pass type. I’ll be returning it.

Works very well for a quick shotgun bore cleaning
I bought this for a friend and he uses it all of the time. A quick pass through the shotgun bore is all it takes to leave the bore shiny clean. The brush runs through first, knocking loose any powder residue, and the cloth snake wipes it all clean. I ended up buying my own and I am very happy wit the results. I still recommend using a bore cleaner and brush for thorough cleanings, but it really does work well for those occasions when you don't have the time.

It's works
This products work great for me, the way I use it I put a solvent such as ballistol or hoppes etc . I let it soak in for a few minutes then I run , hold up let me rewind real quick this is a two piece cleaning kit it comes with one brush on a rope and one bore snake the bore snake is a thick rope , continuing .... Then I run the brush threw a few times then I run the bore snake some people make it seem like it's a faster easier way .... It all matters how you clean your gun I strip my shot guns down to the bone everytime I clean them the reason I do that is because if you use a solvent when it mixes with the gun powder and residue it turns to mud and that's not good, hope this helps and be safe

Great for quickly cleaning my 12ga
I use this product after I shoot trap and skeet weekly. Does a great job cleaning the barrel in-between major cleanings. The tip of the rope is weighted to make it easier to get down the barrel before you pull the brush through. Only complaint is that it would make more sense for both of these items to be on the same rope or make it so both could be run through at the same time. I would buy it again.

JUST RECEIVED MY SS1 12 GAUGE KNOCKOUT PASS GUN ROPE CLEANER. IT LOOKS LEGIT. I HAVENT USED IT ON MY 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN YET BECAUSE I ACTUALLY JUST BOUGHT MY 12 GAUGE A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO AND IM AM STILL WAITING TO PICK IT UP DUE TO THE MANDATORY 10 DAY WAITING PERIOD IN CA. I JUST BOUGHT A ESCORT MP-A SEMI 12 GAUGE AND I CANT WAIT TO SHOOT IT AT THE RANGE AND USE THIS CLEANING DEVICE. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PRODUCT SEEMS LEGIT AND MADE OF GOOD STRONG MATERIAL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

too loose
If you buy a Knockout rope cleaner in any size make sure you check it as soon as it arrives. I used this one for the first time more than 90 days after purchase and it was too loose to do any good. After 90 days SSI will not do anything for you, it is yours even if it is wrong. Maybe the packers in China put the wrong one in the box. In any case it is unusable to me, my fault for not checking it right away but I expected better customer support. I really like my .30 and .22 SSI rope cleaners but I don't think I'll be purchasing anymore of their products.

Much easier than a rod
At about half the price of a Hoppes this product has been working great. Easy to use and store. Worked so well that I bought another for my 9mm. In the past, I've always used a gun cleaning kit/rod with Hoppes #9 and a patch. But truth be told, I would neglect the cleaning about half the time due to the hassel. Now it's quick and easy.
