Very sensitive equipment

The Good: - You don't get electrocuted The Not So Good: - A little too sensitive and you cant adjust the sensitivity A very good tool to have in your toolbox if you are working with any kind of electricity or are planning to. Pretty sensitive as can be seen in the video which is a good and a bad thing. Unfortunately, you cannot change the sensitivity of the tool. It would be nice if you could just so you don't sense random electrical currents you are not concerned about. Thanks for reading! Remember to leave me a helpful vote if you found this review helpful!

Identify your specific needs first... non-contact testers are all different
The combo kit is a great product. Outlet tester works flawlessly. The non-contact tester is VERY sensitive, so this is great if you want to make sure that power has indeed been shut down before repairing a receptacle or a switch. If your objective is to find a specific live wire in a crowded box (or even to find which wire is live when all wires are 6 inches apart), or to test individual holes in a receptacle, go for a less sensitive non-contact tester (like the Klein NCVT-1). In fact, you should have both these non-contact testers in your toolbox !

Tester is Extremely sensitive and gives false readings and poor design
This review is specific to the Tester "only" not the plug in receptacle tester(It works fine). The tester alerts when you're in the vicinity of live electric.(like 1-2 feet away) Doesn't help when you're trying to isolate what wire is live or not. It gave me a false reading on wires that were dead. This was because there was a pot light fixture within 1-2 feet away from the dead wires. This product is extremely sensitive, I don't recommend this product to anyone who is going to use it before working on electrical systems. I also don't like the fact that the on button has to be held to work soo close to the tip. Some areas are tight to access and your hand at the tip may prevent you from placing the tester into the location you want to test. I bought this product to replace one that i lost. The one I had lost and am going to buy again is from Ideal. Its 33.99 at Lowes. it was fantastic. Unfortunately I had to learn the hard way on this one.

Good value, good quality
This is a good value good quality set - as others have said, the wire voltage tester is very sensitive - depending on your use-case this can be a good or bad thing. For me as a homeowner, it doesn't seem to be a downside - the wires I typically need to test are at their ends - for example a light fitting that I can't seem to isolate on the panel. Theres no other wires, live or otherwise, anywhere near it, and if there was I could simply pull the wire I want to test out of range of anything else that may be around. Anyway its a good value set, perfect for the homeowners tool collection :) Works well, and does what it should.

No Contact tester is too over-sensitive
Plug in tester is great. Super bright and easy to read. No contact tester will start to light up long before you get close enough to any wires s or outlets to actually know what the status is of the one you are actually trying to test. The built in flashlight is a fantastic idea and is much appreciated but I still can't recommend this no contact tester.
