Works well

These work great, but you can’t have 2 of them near each other because they work in the same channel. Turning one off or in does the same to the other.

Perfect for my outdoor fountain and tree lights

For years I have been using timers for my outdoor fountain and tree lights. They did the job but anytime I would need to change a setting, I would have to usually unplug it, bring it inside where I can see the tiny switches or numbers and then take it back outside. I’ve been using wifi outlets inside my home for several years now and have them on an easy to set up schedule. It never really crossed my mind that there could be an outdoor wifi outlet with 2 plugs. And then I stumbled across the Etekcity outdoor smart plug and thought I’d give it a shot. The setup was fairly simple. I’ve set up many of my indoor smart plugs so I was already familiar with the process. Even so, I had some minor difficulties getting this one going. Whenever I attempted to have it search for my wifi, I would get a “timed out” message. I was less than 10 feet from my wifi hub. After restarting the app, and maybe 10 tries later, I finally got it connected. I created 2 schedules. One for each plug. The process is similar to other wifi plugs with some minor differences but you can usually figure them out. Once I got the schedules set up, I waited to see if they worked. And so far it has worked flawlessly. Best of all, I can control everything from my phone which is very very convenient. I love this smart plug and would highly recommend it.

Well made

I bought this outdoor outlet because the Etekcity indoor outlets and light switches we've had for several years have worked flawlessly. I don't know why Amazon no longer sells the single indoor outlets. We love those things and DO NOT WANT to buy other brands that require different, less capable apps. The VeSync phone app is great, allowing you to control the outlets and switches based on: Day or Days Time of Day Time of Day +/- 30 minutes (random) XX minutes before and after sunrise and sunset. You couldn't ask for more versatility. These schedules are programed into the devices themselves, not your phone, so they run 24/7. And you can monitor (or modify) them from anywhere you have an Internet connection. My only complaints: This outdoor device dangles from a standard height wall outlet by a very short cord. The weight of the device could easily pull it out of an older, worn outlet. It would be nice if it were 6"-12" longer. In my case, I'll plug it into a short extension cord. And this complaint is minor: If I turn a device on or off using my phone app, the device responds immediately! However, if it’s turned on or off by another phone or by pressing the device’s on/off switch, it takes 15-25 seconds to display the change on my phone app. This is true for all outlets and light switches I have. I do have to say I've only noticed this while doing setup or testing. This outlet get 4 stars because of the short cord length.

These are the best!

I bought 2 originally and I have bought 3 more since then. You are able to program each outlet separately for different reasons. I use them around my house for the holidays to program all Christmas decorations from the app. Because I use 2 outside, year round, every once in a while, if it's raining alot, the outlet may turn off. Usually just waiting for it to dry naturally and reset works. Occasionally I have to unplug it and reset the button on the side to turn it back on. I would highly recommend. I've had the first ones for about a year and a half and the other 3, just over a year.

Excellent smart plug with power tracking

This is one of the very few that tracks your electricity usage. I bought the first one two years ago and this year (well Xmas 2022 season), got additional 5 for myself and other siblings. We finally transitioned into the "smart" timer world and we can't go back lol. This type of control is easy to use with app and it does track your energy usage. One problem with app I hate is that it has too many ads. HATE IT. Hence the 4star review.

My favorite outdoor purchase!

Truly weatherproof, I’ve got my fence string lights plugged into it and never have to worry about moisture getting in. The app allows me to place the lights on sunrise/sunset setting, saving my electric bill, as well. I’ve recommended to many friends who are now also raving about it. It’s amazing how the simplest things can make our lives easier and better!
