Just okay. Sturdy throw down wheel set. Great back ups. Front rim did not come trued and ready to go. Rear was good. Heavy wheels but sturdy.

Great wheels, look great, tires too big for my bike

These wheels look amazing. The build quality seems great. I bought these “like new” here on Amazon and some of the spokes had the black paint chipped away, but I didn’t mind. It must be painted on versus the metal being black. The only problem I had is that the tires which come on the wheel set (700x28c) were too big for my single speed conversion. The wheels couldn’t turn without getting stuck on the frame. I changed out the tires and it was fine. Cool wheel set - would buy again if I did another single speed conversion.

Tires and tubes suck

Awesome rim. Shredded the tire and tube within about 60 -70 miles. Granted I beat my bikes up and am a pretty aggressive road biker… still… would have preferred to buy the rims with no tires and tubes rather than get them with junk tires. Either way great value for your buck tho.

Exactly as advertised, works well in all kinds of weather so far, tires stay inflated, no problem.

This is a fair price for an above standard set of wheels. I ride a 49cm fixed gear State (make) bicycle and needed a replacement for my old set of wheels. This was the substitute for my old gold, deep rim wheels and although the coloring is slightly more bold and orange than my previous brass gold color, it works really well and hold up in all weather so far. I live in Portland, Oregon where we get rain, snow, ice, and sun all in one-day during the beginning of the spring season. The tires have managed to tolerate all weather so far. I keep my bicycle in the garage so it is away from the weather, but when I need to ride, it has yet to fail me. Will purchase again if I need another set.

Works well

Works really well for the price. The box the wheels came in was completely destroyed, I for sure thought that the wheels would have some broken spokes or be really out of true. I was wrong the wheels were undamaged and were very true despite the damage to the box. I started with the freewheel and now have moved to the fixed gear.

Pretty average but ok for the money

Seems like a very ok wheelset for the price. The showed up a bit out of true butdidnt take long to get aligned. After the first ride the front wheel was pretty lop sided again and took a while to true again and after the third short ride was back to square 1. I'm not 100% sure but I think these were open box so not sure I if someone else has messed with them before I got them but I'm sending back and going with something else.

This is okay..

The wheels are nice and all but the front wheel does not fit my front fork (9mm). The front wheel axle (9.5mm/ 3/8) is too thick.

Sealed bearings ++ / Welded Rim --

These are a cost conscious set of wheels. The hubs are nice, with tall flanges and sealed 6000RS bearings. With replaceable sealed bearings these hubs should be pretty bulletproof. The welded rim seam is covered with a Retrospec sticker and could have been blended a little better over the brake track. After reading some other reviews I dismounted the tires to look for any metal shavings or oddities inside the rim, I found none. Remounted the tires, pumped them to 100psi overnight and they were the same this morning. No leaks. They came with 28c tires, not 25c as stated in the title, and for some reason they measured 32mm wide when inflated. My 32c Conti Gatorskins only measured 31.5mm so these Kenda's are a little wacky for their stated size. Make sure you tighten the locknuts on either side of the freehub before riding or you risk losing it. Overall, very happy with this wheelset. Will report back if anything changes! Cheers.

Single speed freewheel failed after 200 miles

These wheels were a gift and now I must replace the 16T single speed freewheel and do a slight true to the wheel. Lent out my Italian Miche track wheels till I can get a new Shimano single speed freewheel. She loves the State Black Label frame though.... Can I get a replacement from Amazon....?

No brake surface on rear wheel

These tires are fine for the money. But, there is no braking surface on the rear wheel! This causes a horrible screeching sound whenever I use my rear brake. After re-reading the fine print, there is a brief mention of only certain coloured wheels featuring a brake surface. So, I have two nice looking, yet nearly useless tires.

Look good, came true

Solid wheels for the price. Look good, came true, and they ride well. Just needed something decent on my single speed commuter so rims, tubes, and tires for $150 plus free shipping is a pretty good price when compared to the few options in Canada.
