Equestrian pattern look alike

Definitely has the Ralph Lauren Equestrian look, but is light weight when compared. However, for the money, it’s a great purchase.

Beautiful, but inconsistent and some detail issues...

I have been eyeing this Wallace Hotel set for a while; I finally took the plunge and ordered a trial set as I really love the mismatched designs of this set. While this set doesn't at all feel cheap, I would not described it as heavyweight either. My current everyday flatware is about or slightly heavier than this Wallace Hotel set, which may have caused my perception to be a bit skewed -- that is possible. Additionally, each piece definitely looks heavier than it actually is. However, having said that, for the price point, these pieces are certainly acceptable (weight-wise). I was not expecting deeply engraved design for this price. For the $40 price I paid for the set, I am on-the-fence, but borderline satistifed with the stamped design. Honestly, I am pleasantly happy with the overall look of the pieces. The piece are really nice, beautifully shiny, and most of the designs are adequately crisp. Unfortunately, there are some areas on some of the pieces where the details are not embossed as deeply; the inconsistency varies by each piece. My expectations for this set was not at all unrealistic; I was hoping that it would be nice enough for everyday use and pretty enough for special occasions. Before ordering this item, I have read as many reviews as I possibly could, and I have looked at photos of the set online. The crispness of the designs meets my expectations, but the overall quality of the pieces is not quite there. Additionally, there are some black leftover markings on some of the piece (most rubbed right off, but some are just stuck). Some pieces also seem to have light (surface) scratches. Maybe from manufacturing polishing? Not sure. I am giving this set 3-stars due to the design crispness inconsistencies, light scratches, and few non-removable stain/marking. This would be a perfect set, especially for the price, without the inconsistencies. *I would like to add images, however, I am uncertain how to do so. I will update when I figure it out.

Quality suffers from previos years products

only available product and manufacturing of current product not the same quality as product manufactured in previous years, maybe this is due to the manufacturer changing from Malaysia to China. The machining or (de-burr process) at manufacturing level is not quality as edges during the stamping process are still evident and the weight of each individual piece is far less and not balanced. My original goal was to find the same product in the smoky version which was discontinued. I had to settle with this product as I needed something at least close to what I had to add to the service amounts that I already had. Will not entertain the products from this manufacturer in the future as continued quality was not seemingly important to retain client confidence. Brand integrity is important for client retention and suffers as a result when short run goals for profits and pricing are allowed to overtake the age old standard of producing a quality product that is durable and a product the client will be proud to use with family, guests, and friends; yielding new clients from free word of mouth marketing.The manufacturer then has a product it can be proud to sell. maybe made in America would be a better brand stamp. Even if the cost were higher I would purchase a product like that!!!!

Eclectic beauty!

I originally found a 20 piece set at Homegoods on clearance for 29 bucks. I have a 5 person family and needed another set to atleast have a service for 8. I found this set on amazon for 38 bucks and I just happened to have 8 dollars in reward points that I used toward my purchase. Id say 60 dollars isn't bad for a service for 8. Here is what I love about this set... 1)18/10 stainless steel 2) there are 5 separate designs included in this set which are reproduction designs from various eras dating all the way back to 1680. The designs include: Coburg(meat fork), Impero (dinner fork), William and Mary (dinner knives), Federalist (dinner spoon), and Borocco (teaspoon). 3) I love to mix match my dining chairs, and I have a classic shabby chic look going on in my home. I collect antiques and although I have a general theme not everything matches but it all comes together nicely. This dinnerware is reflective of my personality and is unique and brings classic to life in a beautiful elegant way. 4) although dishwasher safe I've decided to only hand wash and they are very shiny after each wash and show very little water spotting even if not towel dried. 5) life expectancy of over 100+years and completely recyclable Cons: 1) made in China 2) a few of the cold meat forks came bent :( Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend!

As of August 2019 Hotel Knives are FLAT

I received these today. They're lovely and high quality but I haven't had a chance to use them yet so this isn't really a review. I just want anyone considering the Hotel flatware to know that as of August 2019 (possibly earlier than that but this is when I bought it so now for sure) the knives in the set are flat, not rounded as seen in the photos. This is a change the brand made to the product awhile ago apparently so if anyone is receiving rounded knife handles it's older stock. My order was purchased from and shipped by Amazon. So just be aware that at least some people are receiving the flat knives. Personally I prefer them; they match the other pieces better, because all the other pieces are flat as well. They're still comfortable to hold and the details are really beautiful. Such a fun set to kind of but not quite match with my mix and match plates!

Enjoy the variety

I have had my original set about 8 yrs and am still not tired of them which says a lot! We needed more and I was sad that the knives are not the old style with the hollow handles. I can tell there has been a decline in quality and it's disappointing. I still like the new style and find it's an OK, not great, value. I don't want to spend more because my kids lose things but will upgrade in a few yrs.

The knives can actually cut meat.

Love the elegant patterns reproduced from the grand hotels of Europe on the individual pieces. They are nicely balanced in the hand.
