Safe è il balsamo completo e concentrato per acqua dolce e salata. Rimuove in modo sicuro cloro, cloramina e ammoniaca. Safe converte l'ammoniaca in una forma sicura e non tossica che viene prontamente rimossa dal biofiltro del serbatoio. Amazing value. I use it to refill a prime bottle over and over. A small scoup equals a large bottle of prime, and they are about the same price. I have a 125 gallon turtle tank so I churn through prime quickly.

Last very long

This bottle last me about 2 years, I have one 75 gallon and 55 gallon tank, and do 70% water change once a week. I also use it whenever there’s an ammonia/nitrite spike. Works well and last a long time.

Convenient and easy to use

Like that I only need a tiny amount to dechlorinate my 55 gal water storage tubs. May need to double dose if municipality adds extra chemicals to drinking water.

Why did I waste money on Seachem Prime bottles for so long?

I have 3 tanks total; 48, 15 and a 5 gallon. The conversion rate to get the amount I'd need per water change is obscurly small because this stuff is so concentrated, but that's OK with me. I simply wet my small finger, dip it into the product and fill a bucket accordingly with water. Mathematically I'd need 1/24 tsp (or 1/5 gram) to treat 50 gallons, but who can measure that in a normal house. The amount I put in (roughly 1/10 tsp) is ballpark to what the label suggests for treating high ammonia levels. The best part is, the known excess I'm putting into the treated water does a fantastic job of detoxifying ammonia and doesn't negatively impact the fish. It also doesn't have any effect phosphate levels or pH in any way like other products do, especially with the extra I'm likely putting in. I've had the 250 gram container for a few months now and barely put a dent in it. This will likely last me the better part of a year, maybe even two with regular bi-weekly water changes. Way more efficient than using Prime, both financially and in functionality.

Awful smell but works great

Honestly I only have a couple of tanks and this container seems like it will last forever. I had to special order a teeny tiny measuring spoon kit just to measure out the amount. I know a lot of people are saying you can just eyeball it and take a pinch but I like to record the exact amount of “additives” I put in the water. I added it, it does what it’s marketed for, it works great. However, this product smells as if you’ve just opened up a plastic bag that has been sitting in your 85 degree car, and it contains about 5-6 hard boiled eggs. And on a power scale the smell is about a 9/10. I mean the second I open the bottle I can smell it. It’s like using ammonia smelling salts lol. It does not make the water smell so you really only have to deal with the smell when the bottle is open. The product works exactly as advertised. I will not have to buy water conditioner for eons. It is difficult to measure out for tanks 55 gallons and less. Has a very strong odor. Overall: 8.9/10

Excellent product!

This product is great, it's extremely economical, very effective and highly accurate if used per instructions. I have been using Safe products for over 5 years, I can honestly say my fish are always happy and 'safe' after a water change.

Great for large or multiple aquariums

I have three tanks and have used Prime and other liquid conditioners. Safe is just simply better value. For a similar price, Prime treats 5,000 gallons and Safe treats 60,000 gallons. As far as I can tell, there is no difference in the effectiveness of the products. I would strongly suggest buying dash, pinch, smidgen spoons (about £4 on amazon) as then you can consistently measure the tiny amounts needed such as a sixteenth of a teaspoon for 300l.

A must have !

I use this primarily as a dechlor but it can also be used to detoxify ammonia and nitrite for 48hrs. After installing a new filter i had massive spikes in both and this kept my pond detoxified until the filter matured and the levels stabilised. I always have a pot of this handy. If you have a pond then this is an essential item. For aquarium owners prime is the one for you a liquid version for smaller volumes of water. This is a white powder and the dosing instructions are on the pot and easy to follow. It has two dose rates one for dechlorinisation and one for detoxification. I would 100% recommend that you have this essential item in your kit.

Be warned....the smell...

What to say about Safe. Be warned . ..it stinks..it is the sulfur in the powder....very very very eggy.... apart from that it is great value for money. It helps to purchase some jewelers scales to go with it so you can really take advantage of that value for money.... this powder is aimed at those with massive tanks but with those scales you can use this for as little as a 10litre water change ... I have made a review on the set of scales that I purchased for this very reason...

Starves bacteria

always used this product, works well to sort out ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate but at what cost. I was told by seachem this product doesnt mess with bacteria, I want to believe this but I used this and my tank couldnt cycle, I relied on aquaballs constantly for my fish health. Put it this way if this works so good and detoxifying the bad stuff then how can the bacteria breed to the next stages in the cycle, while using it my ammonia, nitrite and nitrate was 0... Good sign?? Well no... The bacteria was starving to death

great replacement for tap conditioner and prime

Why spent a fortune on tap conditioner for water changes. one 200g tub lasts me 12months for 10 tanks per 20litre water change Use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 1,250 L (300 US gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 300 L (75 US gallons) for ammonia.
