This noisemaker works as expected. The cap stays on and the magnet is strong so it doesn't make unnecessary noise underwater.

small and mighty

I haven't used it under water yet. It makes very loud ding noises, but you can cap it off so it's silent. Don't know if it will make noise in water unintentionally if cap off, will need to find out. made very heavy duty and sturdy. I think it will work fine.

Never miss that great hammerhead again.

While diving in French Polynesia my wife saw a great hammerhead while I was inspecting small things in the sand…and I missed it. the regret of missing that sight made me buy a pair of these for us, and it’s made communication so much easier when we find something or need attention! The magnet generally holds well, but just be aware it’s not a powerful one so can easily flip the lid when entering or knocking it on a dive. Don’t forget to take it off your bcd if your renting one post dive!

Takes two hands to use;

This was unusable for me. It takes two hands to use--to remove cap to enable and then replace cap to avoid constant rattle. The sound is not loud enough. Needs redesign.

Quit Ruining Flashlights

After damaging yet another flashlight by banging it on my tank to get someone’s attention, I decided to get a “noisemaker”. It’s compact, we’ll constructed and features a magnet in the cap to prevent inadvertent “noise making”. Add one to your dive gear today!

Quiet when it needs to be.

I've been told that even with the caps these things annoy other divers. Not this one. Unless you mount it on your fins or something, mine has been completely silent unless I pull the cap off. Purchased for work to alert other divers when I need to leave the research pool, as they might be 50ft away. Works great for that. I leave it on my BCD all of the time, even on rec dives.

Not very loud,

Not very loud, maybe ok for just diving with a buddy but for use as a dive guide with a group it's useless

Does the job

Work perfectly, it perfectly loud enough. I know some folks have criticized it for not being loud enough, but those are likely also the same folk that you dive with that are always making noise under water that scare everything into hiding, ya you know who I'm talking about. I retied the cap on mine, and haven't had a single issue with it. Have used it on over 20 dives thus far and its great.

Very Solid Build

Although I haven't tried this underwater, just playing around with it on the dry side, it seems to be very well made. I like that the cap with a magnet while on the end hold the ball inside from rattling around. I am looking forward to getting underwater and signalling to my dive buddy when this whole Covid thing is behind us.

Good noise maker but not very loud.

I have used this on a few dives now. It's good for alerting your dive buddy. But the noise is not very loud so I wouldn't recommend for a DM or Instructor in charge of a big group. Also, make sure to check the magnetic rubber stopper is attached before you dive or everyone is going to be very angry.

Compact and effective

These work really well for communicating with your dive buddy or a group. The rubberized cap makes them silent when you don't want them to make noise but very easy to access and use when you do. Bought a second one.
