Dog tested, Me approved
I knew and loved this trash can from working at Starbucks years ago. It was sturdy and stays out of the way while being close at hand. I got the first one for our garage. Then we installed our new flooring and I brought it into the house. It’s great for construction clean up. Well my cleaning ladies loved it! So I let it move inside, even though I questioned the aesthetics. Then we got a lab puppy and she loved to knock over our traditional 13 gallon kitchen trash can. As she grew she could just put her head inside it, even with the flap. But she left this trash can alone. So I ordered the swing lid (to make it even taller and more intimidating) and it worked! So I ordered a blue recycling one. When I’m cooking in the kitchen, I will move the swing lid to the blue one so I can peel or brush scraps directly into it. My dog is 3 years old, 80 lbs and it’s still working working well. Recommend buying it!

Sturdy, lightweight, looks great
I bought this to use on our back deck as a recycle bin for bottles and cans. I got the can in beige and the hinged lid in black (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001GXG2F2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) and together they do not look like a recycle or garbage can at all. It blends in well next to my cream-colored house and black bbq cover. The hinged lid is well worth the extra cost. It attaches securely to the can holding the garbage bag in place and the lid even snaps shut, so no critters can get into it. The lid attaches so securely to the can that rather than pry it off every time it needs to be emptied, I just pick up the whole thing and dump it into my big recycle can. It's amazingly lightweight for such a sturdy can. It wipes down nicely too. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Great purchase!
I balked a little at the price, but I couldn't be happier with this trash bin. Use it with 30 gallon Hefty plastic bags. They fit perfectly.

Rubbermaid Trash Can
Exactly how it was pictured on the Amazon website. Very sturdy and exactly what we were looking for. The only thing I didn't know was you need a 40 gallon trash can liner as anything smaller does not fit to the bottom of the can.

It's a recycling bin... what more needs be said?
I bought these bins for my local Mosque as our community is trying to increase our efforts to recycle, reduce waste, etc... We had nothing but trash cans before so I purchased 4 of these to disperse throughout our building. So far they have been sturdy enough and durable enough. We've not had them very long so I'm not sure how well they will hold up over time. They do say their are commercial products so I'm hoping they will be as sturdy and durable as they claim. The size is nice it's tall and slim so it can fit in many places but unfortunately the recycling symbol is only on the side. So when it's up against our other bins with the narrow side out many people don't see the symbol. If we turn it on it's side so that the long side is out with the symbol visible then it takes up a lot more unnecessary space. I only purchased the bins (we have limited funds and recycling bins have fallen towards the bottom of the list of necessities for many years) but as soon as more funds are available I want to purchase the covers which make it clear that bottles should go in the bins. Maybe it's just our Muslim community but people just do not listen (despite signs right over the bin about what you can and cannot throw in it) to what we say about putting recycling in the bins. Every day I find garbage in the bins (which we have to sort out) and recycling in the garbage. So if you can I highly recommend getting the appropriate lids (their almost the same price as the bins which I think is ridiculous) so that it makes it even more painfully obvious for the lazy to know what goes in the bin and makes it more difficult to put things that don't belong in them. I really believe that the recycling symbol should be on all sides but at a minimum one large and one small side so that it's obvious no matter which way it's used. The price on this bin is better than I found on similar bins locally by about $15 but I still feel the price was too high. $35 seems high for a trash bin. A regualar bin could be purchased for much less and had I found a blue one I might have just spray painted or put a vinyl decal on the bins to make them recycling bins. Unfortunate I did not find any bright blue trash bins at that time. They feature a cinch system that's supposed to make it easy to hold the bag in place but nobody ever seems to take advantage of it even after I pointed it out. I guess old habits die hard so I'm not holding out any hope of our cleaning crew making use of the feature but it seemed to work well enough when I tried it. I'm not sure how helpful the vent channels are... the bag didn't get stuck but the we haven't had much problem with that, perhaps because our recycling is generally filled with bottles and other lightweight trash items that it doesn't create as much of a suction.

Perfect for Smaller Kitchens
I have a galley kitchen. We tried putting the recycling under the sink but we need the space for storage. I only had a very narrow small space and I tried Target and Walmart and could not find something that fit into such a narrow space. This fits perfectly. It is tall and slender and fits snug against a wall. But this is so slim that I am able to store another trash can in front of it and still be able to pull my dishwasher down to load and unload dishes. It is very solid and sturdy. Worth the money.

Such a useful bin
I bought one of these to use as a slimline bin for plastic recycling in my kitchen. It is so useful, as it is almost as tall as the worktops, and yet nice and narrow so takes up very little space. It holds a massive volume. Takes a full size black bin liner and holds a lot more volume than a normal kitchen bin would. The method it has for holding the bin liner in place is great- very easy to use. I’m using mine without a lid as I’m only putting clean recyling into it and it’s just so easy to use in this way. Very good quality, and actually looks pretty nice too. I had been considering a stainless steel bin that would have been 4 times this price, so this is a real bargain.

Its not pretty but...
Purchased the slim Jim Bin to use for collecting recycling. I purchased the lid separately. As the name suggests, its quite slim and fits neatly against the wall of my long/thin utility room, without blocking the walkway. Well made, solid construction, will probably last longer than I will. I would definitely recommend IF like me you intend to keep it hidden away in a side room. If however you are looking for a bin that sits on display in the corner of you kitchen, recommended you look for an alternative as this one is just a big ugly. Other than that, I am sure it will sere its purpose well for may years to come.

Bigger thank you think despite its slim nature
Great bin. Bags can hook in well without slipping down. Good capacity and perfect colour. Make sure you get the Rubbermaid hinged kid to go with it as it ships as just the bin. Which is fine for recycling but not as an open bin for kitchen waste.
