Good Quality, easy to assemble, plenty of heat and space

Received my Royal Gourmet Regal GB2000 2-Burner Propane Gas Grill Griddle last week. Arrived on schedule in 2 days from order placed on Amazon. Assembled on Friday. Made dinner on Saturday. Product quality met my expectations. The general design of the griddle is good. The cooking surface itself is very sturdy and well built. It uses only one size screw fastener for all assembly. Nothing was bent, although the box was pretty beat up. A minor flaw in the build did not permit two screws to reach the treading holding the back of the cook top to attached to the stand. But there are 8 other screws supporting that role in the direct vicinity, so hence I consider this minor. This thing gets plenty hot. I was skeptical on the BTU ratings in the product description. But I would say they are true now that I've actually used it. The heat was well distributed. The cross bars under the cook top seem to be quite effective. I preheated the griddle at max burner. Dropped the heat to med to cook these smash burgers. Great browning/charring of the beef and onions at this temperature with this cooking surface. The accessory hooks hang a bit too low for my cooking tools, allows them to touch the ground, so they are not very useful for me. The side table gets hot, and anything on the table will get a blast of radiant heat from an unobstructed path from under the cook top. So Nothing plastic or glass on that shelf for more then a few seconds. Generally the griddle is stable during cooking... no dancing around. The handle at the end of the shelf and the wheels work well to move the unit around . It also holds it's ground when scraping the burned stuff off the cooking surface. The lack of a proper cover sucks. The non-matching one I bought is a horrible fit. I'll likely customize it to fit better. Overall: - Good value - Get's plenty hot - Quality product - Just the right size for my weekend warrior use-case and back yard. I'd recommend this unit to friends.

Initial Impression

Just finished assembling griddle. Have not actually used it yet. It's a very nice looking product and seems sturdy. However....assembly was not as easy as it could have been. One of the brackets that secures the legs to the main body, just did not fit well. To some hammering and bending of metal to get a proper fit. Also, the directions for assembly were poor. The packaging contained one extra piece that is not referenced or pictured in the assembly instructions. I have no idea what it is for. Be aware, the griddle itself is quite heavy. The description of the product above shos a length of 58 inches. It is no where near 58 inches. More like 46 inches. This is important if you are also ordering a cover. One additional curious issue. There is a warning sticker from the State of California saying to be cautious because product contains metals that are known carcinogens. I wrote Royal Gourmet about this. They simply said the product contains no carcinogens and the State of California makes them place the sticker. When I asked why the sticker says " the product contains" I got the same response as the first time. Considering the product is made in China I have some concerns. Will not use it without more investigation. But...it does look nice!!!

Love it

So I had a little trouble setting this up. Either I wasn't reading the instruction correctly or they were clear enough. ANYWAY, I set it up on my own. Proud of myself. ????.... it did take me a while to test it out. Weather wasn't helping much. I finally got to use. It heats up beautifully. Like any other cooking appliance, you have to find the 'nitch' and once you do its cooking time! I love it. Just wish I had gotten this in early summer instead of late summer. Wah wah. Easy clean up. Perfect. Just the right size for what I need. UPDATE (06/05/22) So, I am sad cook. Due to griddle size, I was not able to find a hard cover for it. This winter was a bit rough and water seeped through the cover I had. Now my grill is damaged and is peeling off. I have been trying to find a replacement grill top but no luck. I may need to purchase a complete new grill. But going with different brand simply because I need a cover. Flat top paint chipping

After having this grill for only a few months, (was present for my husband on Father’s Day) the black paint on flat top portion of the grill is bubbling and peeling. This is a huge problem as this is where the food is cooked and we don’t want paint in our food. It is the perfect size grill and the heat distribution of the grill itself cooks food well but I’m really disappointed in the quality of the flat top portion. Paint shouldn’t be peeling after only 3 months use!

Easy to cook on ittttt

We love this! Have cooked several different foods on it. Heat distribution is amazing on it. The only bad thing is our wheels could be better quality. Ours already came off.

Good gritle for the money!

Zero problems! No dents or scratches. Using low to medium heat is all you need. Turn the grill off a minute or two before the food is done to prevent the juices and scraps left behind from sticking. Clean up as you go and there will be no large mess to clean after the meal is done. ALTHOUGH they should have given you a cover with it. P.S. It's not a chopping block. Don't chop or cut your food on the surface of the grill. Have some decency and respect the surface and it will last a good long time. (you'll want a blackstone if that's how you want to cook and even then you can still scratch and gouge the top.)

Great Grill Griddle !

This was a great buy with plenty cooking surface, easy to clean anything, heat distribution is more than I was bargain for. just be careful The side table gets hot on both sides as other reviewers state here, there is a YouTube video how to fix this problem - by installing a piece metal sheet on each side . search on Youtube for Blackstone Griddle Heat Shield Mod for further instruction how to do the shield mod.
