The gloves are great but not for bagwork
These are a great pair of gloves, but if you’re going to work on a bag there’s better options. They run a little small. 18oz feels like 14.

Great gloves for good price!
Had these gloves for almost a year exactly until they started to breakdown. I use them for bag work pads and sparring for two hours a day, six days a week. Thats about the life span of them for the frequency I use them. For others it may be more or less. First thing that started to go was the color from the area of contact. The red dye started being taken off leaving a dark grey color. The color issue might not happen with black gloves. After that the IMF gel started to break down leaving knots/bumps all over the glove punch area, a bunch of small ones and a few huge ones. Again I abused the gloves everyday! Today they dont look pretty at all but with that being said they're still far above average in the function department! Im only retiring them because of looks and its starting to show signs of inner foam breakdown (bits of foam on my handwraps). I love the fit of ringside gloves theyre not just only padding for your fist but also great padding and support for your wrist and forarm! I cant say enough about the fit and comfort. Also it is super fuctional for sparring! Theyre slimmer and sleeker but dont sacrifice protection. The padding is a great density not so soft your knuckles peirce through yet not so firm it hurts you or your training partners. Overall the glove is a super nova, it was spectacular the entire time but the lifespane of the gloves isnt that long, about a year. Ringside is still my favorite brand as far as looks and function. Ive already ordered the pro IMF trainning gloves for my next pair! No regrets on these gloves!

Snug & Comfortable
I like these. They feel good on my hand and I don't feel the need to wrap if I'm just working a reflex bag. Unfortunately, like every other glove I'm aware of, there is not a plastic shim embedded in the thumb foam to protect against pointy elbows and the subsequent three weeks of not being able to pick up anything heavier than a fork after you get that bone bruise at the base of the thumb

Great bag gloves
I’ve gone through dozens of pairs of gloves from reyes to grants. These ringside gloves are some of the best I’ve had the pleasure of wearing. Half or even a third of the price of some of the higher end gloves with better wrist support and impact protection.

Great all around training glove
I know these are sparring gloves but for me they work great for everything.I hit the heavy bag with these also and they provide a lot of cushion which is great because I hit with full power.they also support the wrist very well.they were a little stiff at first but after two days they loosened up and hit my hand very good now.I read the other reviews with people complaining about these gloves and I have not had any of those problems so far.these are probably the best gloves I've used over the years honestly.I've owned a pair of Reyes which are double the price of these and frankly the ringside gloves are better. I also like the fact that their full letter I like a leather glove over the synthetic material ones.the suede thumb really does work great for wiping off sweat just make sure you clean it from time to time.so if you're thinking about these pair of gloves just pulled the trigger they're great and I believe they will last for many years

Durable
Durable and roomy, even with hand wraps. Took off one star because I prefer a moisture wicking inner liner. This is more ordinary nylon and just gets sweaty and stays sweaty.

Like hitting the bag with bare hands.
I've been boxing my entire adult life, and I'm in my 30s now. I don't do it competitive, though I do spar every now and then to help people in the gym out. I'm 250 pounds, so while I should probably use 20oz gloves, 18 are easier to find and cheaper, plus I never throw as hard as with people anyway. So recently I've had to take a couple weeks off twice in the last couple months because my middle knuckle, hands, and wrist have all been sore to in actual pain. I'm not talking threw a punch wrong. I'm talking every time I hit the bag with any sort of power, it's like hitting it bare handed. At first I thought maybe I was getting lax with my hand wraps. So I paid extra attention and even tried an alternate method (even though I've been wrapping my hands this way for years without problem). Same problem, maybe even a bit worse, though I think it's just been an issue of cumulative injury over the last couple months of using these gloves. I have to give them one star and I have to say I can't recommend them. If you're going to box, protecting your hands is way too important, and the only common thread I can find that's changed in the last 2 months is getting these gloves.

Not bad, but ...
After trying many good gloves (RDX, Venum Elite, Hayabusa, Rivals and some others), I liked those better. The wrist support and protection is good, the velcro is very good, and suede thumb is indeed perfect for wiping off sweat. Overall, they are of a good quality, quite comfortable and do allow for a good fist. They are also compact, which I also like a lot. BUT... I do have a few issues with them, and it's related to the gel padding. Although it's quite good for your knuckles, it's too hard for sparring. Also, because the padding is hard and shaped, it doesn't curve to my fist well, there is kind of an arc over my knuckles, which acts as a leverage point if I don't hit the bag perfectly flat. This will rotate my wrist slightly, which is injury prone. It seems that all Gel gloves have this problems, and I heard that they need a (somewhat long) break in time to get better.I have tried the exactly same gloves from a guy in my boxing gym that he has for about 2 years, and they indeed feel better. So, if you plan to have only 1 pair of gloves - those can be a good choice, once broken in. But I ended up with 2 pairs of dedicated gloves - one just for sparring with a soft padding, and one just for bag work. They are both from RingSide, and together cost about the same as this one pair (they are both synthetic), but are better suited for the job, IMHO.
