I'm Old, I'm Grey, I'm Disabled, And I Can Pack A Punch Into These Mitts! YEAH!

These are fabulous punch mitts that are a real "HiT" with me! I'm a grey haired senior with MS who in a wheelchair but that doesn't stop me from keeping in tip top shape. Boxing keeps my upper body strength and core muscles strong. helps me with coordination, and allows me to be super when it comes to confidence that I can protect myself. My caregiver does more than take care of my everyday needs and requirements. She also puts on these punch mitts whenever I'm donning the boxing gloves and she helps me get a good workout. This lady can move those mitts and handle my boxing gloved fists plowing into them. Between my boxing working outs and working out with free weights you best believe that just because someone has a disease and is in a wheelchair, it doesn't mean they are weak and easy pickings for the bad guys. I also impress the heck out of my doctors. When one doctor checked my legs strength and didn't find much he asked me to push his hands back so he could check my upper body strength, he chuckled when I told him I boxed and worked out with weights. He didn't believe me and told me to punch his hands back and as hard as I could. I asked him if he was certain he didn't believe me and really wanted me to punch his hands as hard as I could. Yep. I told the nurse she was witness that he made the demand that I punch him. She giggled and said she'd back me up. Okay...the doctor was on the floor with one punch. He was amazed and said it was worth the punch just to see that I could actually land a punch like that and the nurse agreed. I asked him if he wanted me to bring the punch mitts and the gloves on my next appointment? New respect at the doctor's office! I forgot to ask if he boxed! In addition to my caregiver being quite pleased with the fit and she's also happy with how well they absorb a punch. It's going to be hard to replace this caregiver/workout partner if she ever leaves me! I'm the only client she has who she enjoys being "combative!"

Good looking

If the goal is a good looking pair of focus mitts, these might be the ticket. However, I feel that a premium is being paid for those looks. Other than the looks and the palm ball (which is great), there is little to differentiate these mitts from options that are less expensive to much less expensive. The internal palm ball is great for grip, control, and a little extra padding. On the downside, these mitts lack any substantial wrist padding. The combination of the mitt orientation that occurs naturally when gripping the palm ball, and the lack of wrist support can create a fair gap between the wearer’s wrist and the mitt. Depending on the use, this might be asking for some sore wrists, or worse. I am using these to work with my son, who is not yet big enough to pack a real wallop, but I would be hesitant to hold these opposite an experienced adult…or worse, an inexperienced adult. For kids or youth, the bright colors, and stiff response is just the ticket. Because this is how I am using these, my rating will reflect my experience. Just be aware, though, that if you’re planning on slipping these on and being punched by someone a little bigger, you might want to consider your wrists.

Very Good, Lightweight, Great Impact Absorption And Well Constructed, Fits Most Any Size Hand Well

This are very good focus mitts, especially if you are not using them every day or hitting them with leather gloves all the time. They can take a very hard punch and easily absorb the impact without transferring the shock to the wearers hand. The ball on the inside keeps your hands in a good position relative to your wrist and forearm. The pads are lightweight and easy to move around with making showing targets to the opponent quick and easy. They are strong enough to take knee blows and ball of the foot kicks without feeling the impact in a negative way. My one concern is that if you are hitting them with leather gloves over time the synthetic leather will wear fairly quickly compared to actual leather. These are much better than the old dipped foam pads that showed up in boxing gyms and dojos in the past. I typically wear XL size work gloves and these pads easily fit my hands.

great mitts..

These are great for practicing punches and having someone else assist you with your punches. I have my son use these or myself and we practice together. Great padding. The fingers fit well for our hands but I feel these ones a smaller than the other two so it gives us more specific punching area. These are a bit more stiffer and smaller but you are able to still hit well. I received this item for my honest opinion and was not compensated.

Overall I really like them

Good set of pads here, a lower to mid end set of gloves here at an affordable price, they are vert shiny and look a little cheesy, but work well. Keeping this pair at home to pad my son when we workout together, they have been working well for that. Overall I really like them, would recommend.

Synthetic leather but good product

My son loves these mitts. They are not real leather so you will notice a difference if you are used to using a leather mitt, but these are still very good mitts. They are lightweight but they can take a hit--with no pain to the wearer. They are ergonomically designed to take the hit. And they are holding up fine. I haven't seen any real wear after repeated use. They are one size fits all, and they do fit fine with no problems, and they also fit the men in the family. Overall, I think these are very good mitts.

good punch pads

So far, I really like the ringside training gear that I have. I have a few items like gloves and training targets. These punch pads are really nice and live up to that tradition. The materials are very good and the ergonomics seem solid as well. The padding seems good, but I have not used it for an extended period of time. Having said that, it feels good and of a high quality and I have confidence that it will hold up well. Colors are good and I have no issues with quality of construction or printing. All in all, I would recommend the Ringside branded training gear. All of my experience has been with solid construction and overall well built gear for the price.
