My first serious metal detector - it's fantastic!
I had a metal detector when I was younger - my parents bought it for me from Radio Shack. It was fun and it worked, but that was it. Fast forward many years and I decided to try to get back into it. After looking up many reviews, I ended up reading an article comparing this with a Garrett and this was the winner of that article so it's what I went with. I'm so happy I did! There's a few different modes and settings on it - from different volume levels, to allowing you to change the sounds and tones of certain metals, to being able to cancel out Iron if you wanted to - it's great! There's nothing that's overly complicated with this, you can literally put it together, turn it on and go find some great things! The coil itself is waterproof but the power box is not so keep that in mind. It's safe to use in pouring rain and it's listed as weatherproof; I've used it in the rain and I can say that it worked flawlessly. I've been able to detect objects as deep as 12" underground without any problems. I've found an ox shoe from the 1850's, coins, nails, trash, literally everything so far and each ping of this detector brings a small rush of excitement every single time because you never know what you're going to find! It has a pinpointer feature also which is great - you can narrow down with high accuracy the exact area the object is in. One thing I highly recommend if you buy this is to also buy a pinpointer tool (Not just the feature that's built in to this detector but an actual pinpointer tool). The two pieces of equipment make a lethal duo and you'll be able to find things a lot faster with the pinpointer after you've located the area the object is in with this detector. The screen is easy to read, it's quick to put together and you'll be discovering cool things on no time! Enjoy this wonderful hobby and especially enjoy this great detector.

Not all parts came in box.
Metal detector Didn’t come in original box. Also was missing some of the hardware to put it together. But overall it seems to be a good metal detector after the one use so far. Will update if that changes.

Great start for a new hobby.
This was our families 2nd metal detector. It's the first one we've used for anything other than detecting nails in wood. I have to say our first outing was quite the experience. I think my wife, an avid Oak Island tv show fan was intrigued as much as i was. Our first outing was to a local park that was a farm until about 15 years ago. I didn't expect to find much there but it gets a lot of traffic so i was hoping for some coins. Honestly all i wanted was just one quarter to justify the purchase and to say this thing actually works. What I learned was that metal detecting is much more work than I expected. Being new to metal detecting the whole process was a little confusing. Most of our hits were not obvious but slight blips that you really had to work at to find. We started in the parking lot which was gravel which was giving me all kinds of crazy hits so I decided maybe gravel was not good for the detector so we worked our way to the first gazebo area and right away I got a pretty solid #3 or #4 hit on the display so I started digging. Sure enough it was a pop tab. Over the course of the next hour we found lot's of foil which registers in the #3 area, 2 quarters, a nickel, and 3 penny's as well as some aluminum cans, some old metal brackets, a nail and some junk. Every hit we did find something so I was very happy about that. What i got out of the experience is that it's a lot more work than I expected which was fine because i was looking to get a little exercise. Over all after a days use I feel I have a good grasp on the F22 now and feel confidant in it's use. One thing I can't recommend enough is to get a pin pointer. I do not have one but after just one use I can see how valuable they are. Many times it would take a while to locate the penny or quarter in the 6 inch deep hole we just made. My opinion of the F22 is that it does work and did a good job. It easy to use, the pin pointer function works pretty well but more often than not it's just as easy to locate the object without it. The menu and settings are easy to navigate and the owners manual was well thought out. For my use I feel it did it's job and deserved a 5 star rating but just know I have no experience with any other detectors in this price range. So I cannot say if it's better or worse.

HIS RETIREMENT GIFT!
My husband has been mentioning one off and on for a while. It was my gift to him for his retirement! He opened and said he’d been wanting one since he was a kid! Score! He has already found a tin can. Hopefully, he’ll find a rare treasure! We live in the woods and our son lives at the beach. He’s going to have fun with it. Seems like a decent one and bought some accessories to go with it. I bought this based on good reviews!

Arrived in generic packaging that made it appears used. No arm strap included.
Detector looked nice but arrived in a unmarked cardboard box that made it appear used. I figured for $250 it would at least include the arm strap like most other models--even the cheaper versions included a strap. And, real packaging that displayed the detector assembled would have been nice since it was birthday gift.

Good product and came FAST!
This is my first metal detector and I’m really happy with it. Took very little time to get the hang of it. After skimming the manual I gave it a test run for ten minutes through a field and came out with 2 old soup cans, an oil filter and a spoon ???????????? All at various depths (1-12cm).

Light weight, if you read the manual it is a great tool for beginners like myself
Good quality for the price, easy enough to assemble if you read the manual, quick power on and we were off to the races! There seems to be plenty of settings that i have yet to adjust to get even more out of this little unit. As a newbie to metal detecting it will easily keep me and the kids occupied for a number of years to come. We found ‘treasure’ (nail) buried 3” deep in the drive in the first few minutes out of the box. Have not used it in the rain to comment on its resistance to wet weather. The adjustable handle made it reasonable easy to shorten for the kids to use and reset for me. We like it and the warranty is great which was one reason to go new vs. used.

What a great machine!
I purchased this as a gift for my spouse to replace his broken Garrett Ace250. He loves this machine! Very easy to use/understand interface. Nice clean look. He says the handle/armrest is more comfortable than the Ace. This Fisher 22 has a much better volume control than the Ace. Unfortunately it does not have a backlit screen but it gets 5 stars anyway.

Shockingly comes in a brown box with no labeling at all....
I'm hoping this unit is not something someone returned. It's merely a brown paper box with no labeling at all. When you open it it's just a bunch of parts. After paying over $300 for this thing- my husband will open it on Xmas day and not have a clue what I bought him until I explain it. I hope the detector has more to offer than the cheapest packaging every!
