SAVED ME!!!
Want to see a grown man almost cry out of happiness? Introduce these to him when back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back atmospheric rivers drench his rental and water seeps into the basement, much to the disappointment of his renters. I have put so much money into my childhood home, and a few years ago had the patio replaced by a company I'd used for several houses over many years. But this time, they sloped the patio toward the house. It's subtle, but it's there and it's wrong, and it's a problem. So the water sheets toward the house, percolates under a raised portion of the house and seeps into the basement which is below grade. Once the weather dries out, I'll solve the issue, but for now I use these to steer the water away, both along the house and raised portion where the water sheets to and then is re-routed, and inside the basement in case any comes in (none has since I installed two of these outside) where it gets routed below the door to a below grade drain. My renters have a dry basement, they can do laundry in bare feet or socks and not track water around. Everyone is happy, if not crying out of happiness.

They work...but
They work pretty well. But they take a long time to dry out and you are not supposed to lay them out in the sun. They do feel kind of slimy after they get wet. They will probably last me about 3 - 4 years but I'm in sunny southern California where it really doesn't rain that much.

It Really Does Work
I put this ten foot dam in front of my garage door because we were expecting heavy rain and my driveway goes downhill towards my garage. After three inches of rain, my garage stayed dry even with the fierce winds accompanying the rain. In fact, I just reordered another one to keep as a backup.

Useful during Oregon's fall and winter
I've used Quick Dam products for two years now, and find that they are a quick and easy alternative to heavy sandbags for diverting and holding back low level water. For water over 3" however, you'll still want to consider other means to minimize flooding. What I like about the product: ➤ It's easy to store and deploy as needed. ➤ When dry, it's not heavy at all so no need for 'muscle'. ➤ You can place the flood barrier around crawl spaces, in doorways, around flowerbeds and even when wet there is some 'bend' that can occur. ➤ The 10' length is manageable to move with two people, or one strong one. ➤ The durability of the product will last one full season if you don't drive over it. ➤ The product swells when more water is absorbed, thus in a steady rain it will be to its full size before the standing water becomes a problem. ---------------------------------------------------------- What I wish was better about the product... ♠︎ You can't drive over it when it's completely saturated or it will rupture; the mesh enclosure is strong, but not that strong! ♠︎ I would love to be able to stack them and effectively keep out higher water, but I find that when they are fully saturated the long ones 5' and longer, roll off of one another instead of staying put. ♠︎ They say if you let them dry out you can reuse them, but I find that one season is about all you can get after using them for several months. ♠︎ If the barrier ruptures and it's wet conditions, you're left with a gooey mess that's tough to clean up and potentially toxic to pets. It dries white, so if you don't clean it up properly you may have discoloration when the rains subside. ♠︎ The barriers are relatively expensive. I've purchased several sizes and find that for my uses, the longer ones work best. ---------------------------------------------- The water absorbing gel beads inside the Quick Dam products are designed to absorb and hold water. In doing so, they expand and thus the flood barrier expands. Once fully saturated the Quick Dam flood barrier is heavy (water weight) and tough to move, which is really a good thing! They do keep low level water at bay (I use them to keep water from coming into my garage and to protect the crawlspace) and are easy to use. -----------------------------------------------------

Holds back water
This is good for a back door to hold any small amounts of water. It is not appropriate for an area that may fill up like a pool with heavy rain. A back door that is not near a drain is great.

Water protection
I bought this for hurricane season. Luckily we didn’t have one. But appears it will work very well. Will buy more!

Great product!
I never write reviews. But I had to come on and say how awesome this product is. I have a slight slope in one spot of my concrete that allows water to leak into my metal building. Has been driving me nuts for weeks since the barn was built. The weather has been crap and the caulking has not had the full time to cure or get down as much as I would like. Threw this down yesterday evening, Rained hard all night. Not a drop leaked in. Very very happy! Not a permanent solution but at least until we hit some dry weather it will do the trick

Effective as a short term flood barrier.
Worked very effectively in the short term (about 6 months) blocking runoff from a sloping drive from entering under the door of a basement level garage. After some months, the gel beads degrade and the dam becomes thin in places and must be replaced.

Excellent for water
I really loved this product. I have a bit of water in my basement yearly when it thaws and it’s not enough for a pump, this product soaks up the water amazingly. The only complaint I have is the slow drying time it has. Days out in the sun with heavy wind is the only way to get it dried. Otherwise buying a new one is a better bet.
